Undying Love

It was just another normal day, in this case, night, as Vempyremon decided to take a leisurely walk across the Sunji Grasslands. Indeed, it was peaceful...and indeed, it was quiet. It was deep into the mid night, and all of the area's inhabitants had fallen into their routinely slumber. Vempyremon found it most comforting at this time. The stars were out, and not a cloud in the sky could cover their shining, gaseous mass. It was them that capture Vempyremon's attention, she sifted through the grass almost as if in some sort of trance that had befallen upon her. The night was a wonder, and the fresh smell of lush foliage made everything perfect. Vempyremon didn't even realize that her trance-like walking had led her to the near edge of the Sunji Grassland, and now she was heading towards the Kalhi Forest, which was and eerie place to be, especially at night. As she continued walking down her unintentional path, Vempyremon had her head cranked upwards to stare at the sky, not even watching where she was going, arms behind her back and hands locked in a firm hold within each other. The breeze through her hair was nice and tickled the fur on her arms as she let the cool air soothe her mind of a hard day's day to prepare for a better 'morrow. Then, Vempyremon closed her eyes, still walking and shuffling through the grassy plains; it was dead silent.
Not all the Nocts on the island were sound asleep, as Cameron, the emotionally scarred scientist, spent most of his night experimenting on a new formula. Not even he knew what troubles he was getting himself into while making this potion. He had always put himself into danger during his strange experiments. Cameron’s lab was the usual; white tile, syringes and tools of all sorts, even machines that you’d see in a dentist’s office or hospital. He was sure to keep everything nice and tidy to the point where everything glistened with a sparkling clean layer of Mop ‘n Glow. Every day was the same to him. New things to invent, more things to experiment on; whether it be a wild animal or a Noct. Or anything he could get his hands on. Tonight was Cameron’s night to invent something new, and he had a good feeling about this formula. It smelled sweet and had the same color of the blue daylight sky itself. Just by smelling it, it had a sense of great euphoria and nostalgia, almost noxious in a way. He had to present this to someone. Not in the morning. Now. Quickly, Cameron sat up from his desk, shoving any pencils and paper inside a drawer and ever-so carefully picking up the new vial. For once, Cameron felt a strong pride come over him. It felt great. Jolting towards the door of his lab, and to the outside, Cameron suddenly felt exhausted and light headed. This was his fourth night pulling an all-nighter. He hasn’t slept in days. Not only that, the strong smell of the potion was getting to him. If he tried to go any further, Cameron would have stumbled and broken the only bottle of mysterious liquid that he had, but if he didn’t show this wonder to the nearest pharmacy, it would spoil. There had to be a better-…Yes! There was.
Kain. He was standing just nearby. Standing and staring high up at the stars. For a while, it looked like he was staring…but as Cameron got closer, his eyes were closed, as if it were some sort of deep meditation. While standing up! “Magnificent!” Cameron exclaimed loudly upon examining Kain’s strange stance. The voice seemed to startle Kain and wake him up from whatever sleeping spell he was trapped under. He looked downwards at the short scientist and gave him his usual grumpy stare. Cameron was short. Real short. Standing just at five foot while Kain towered above him at six. Just about six feet and five inches. It was a stare down between the two before Cameron’s fingers twitched slightly around the vial he held. It reminded him of what he had to do. “I have a favor to ask of you.” Cameron held the glass bottle slightly upwards towards Kain so he could see the object, though it didn’t look like he cared much for it at the moment. “I need you to deliver this to the local pharmacy for me, for I am too weary to transport this highly important and extremely fragile vial myself.” Kain only looked away in the middle of Cameron’s speech…until the scent of the sweet, smelling drink caught his attention. Kain had a sweet tooth; a large one at that. He seemed in intrigued by the request, but Cameron held it back from Kain to shake a finger at him. “You are NOT to drink this. Not one sip. Um… Verstehen?” Cameron scratched his head. He knew a bit of German. Quite a lot, actually. Cameron spent his time reading up on his studies, learning new languages. It seemed as if there was nothing he didn’t know. As the vial was slowly brought back into Kain’s reach, he made a sudden grab for it. This time, Cameron let him have the glass bottle. He made sure to give Kain ‘the eye’ to ensure that his instructions were understood. About now, Cameron was already wobbling to and fro, struggling to keep himself awake. Just to be sure, Cameron waited until Kain walked off with the vial in hand before he eventually left as well. Cameron put a hand to his head and made a great sigh; worry, yet satisfied that now he could get some rest.
As instructed, Kain made his way towards the larger part of town. He tried his hardest to not even look at the bottle. Upon taking a deep breathe inwards, he caught another whiff of the sweet smelling potion. Stopping in his tracks, Kain gave in to the temptation and looked down at the bottle in hand. It was…even blue. His favorite color. He wondered what he got himself into. Actually…he didn’t. Quickly, Kain looked behind him from where he had been confronted by Cameron to see if he was still there. No sign. No sign of anyone. Kain then looked back towards the town he could clearly see. In another direction, there was the forest, where he knew he could hide himself while he ‘examined’ this potion closer. Just a little look…
Instead of walking towards the town, Kain headed off in the direction of the forest with the vial.

Now the grasslands seemed distant, as Vempyremon passed by several trees without even knowing it. The area getting darker with one last breath of the wind flowing through the trees, this time it seemed colder and bone-chilling. The wind moaned through the trees with branches creaking, and then everything seemed to stop with a quiet halt. Vempyremon's eyes open quickly and hardly seemed startled about her new surroundings in the Kalhi Forest but confused as to how she got there as if she didn't remember. It was plenty dark, but she could still see the tiny clearings between each tree and still the sparkling of the stars up in the sky, but it was faint. The tree tops were too dense, but Vempyremon didn't bother to turn back now; it was just getting good. Quickly, now, she jolted forwards more into the forest, leaving the grasslands far behind now, and the entrance of the forest where she entered disappearing. If she got lost, it would be her own fault, but it was only still night, no one would miss her yet. The ground is covered in fallen leaves, branches hung low, and vines bundled themselves around trees and along the ground. This seemed more of an exciting adventure rather than something to be worried about until it was time to go home. There were few flowers in bloom from the lack of sunlight, but whatever Vempyremon could see, they were the most beautiful. Continuing to wander, Vempyremon ran into a small body of water which she decided to stop at and rest. Sitting down, she took up a small flower that was growing on the edge of the creek and smiled at it. She felt serene, for once in a long while, and it felt good.
Kain made it to the forest, out of sight from the public, where he finally could take a closer look at the bottle. Blue, and still looked tasty. It sure smelled tasty. There was a cork on the top of it, which Kain took off with ease using his sharp, black-painted nails. It popped off with a quiet ‘pop’ and the scent from the liquid escaped from the bottle and nearly punched Kain in the face. His eyes widened at how sweet and sugary is smelled. “Just one sip. Nur eins…Eins.” Hesitantly, because of the instructions given to him by Cameron, Kain lifted up the bottle to his black lips. The glass was cold, but Kain’s icy breath was even colder. Slowly, but surely, Kain took a sip of the strange drink Cameron had created. It was…it was like pure cane sugar. Purposely, Kain kept the small tea spoon of liquid in his mouth before swallowing it. It tasted as good as it smelled. Why did Cameron make such a drink so…so deliciously tempting to drink? What could it do? Medicine wasn’t supposed to taste good. “…He could always make another.” With a smirk that slowly spread across Kain’s lips, he shrugged off everything that Cameron said and downed the rest of the potion. It made him shudder. It was like an instant sugar rush. “Ahah…” Already, the rush felt as if it took over as Kain let out a quiet, yet insane, laugh. He threw his head back to look up again at the stars, now covered by a mass of trees and leaves. His eyes slid shut, only halfway, before Kain fell backwards into the grass without having to cushion his fall with his arms. Several fireflies scattered away from Kain’s muscular body landing with a soft brush against the overgrown grass. Kain laughed again and growled to himself, arms and legs spread out while he still looks up into the sky between the branches and leaves above. The effects of the potion take effect inside Kain’s body…Mostly his mind. It really was a great sense of euphoric nostalgia and the potion’s sweet taste still lingered within his mouth. “Ohh…V-Vempyremon. Wo bist du, meine Freunde?” With that, Kain closed his eyes…and waited for several minutes, laying there in the cool grass, letting the potion settle in his stomach. It was some kind of rapture. Suddenly, his eyes shot open again, and he looked around at his surroundings as if he lost all sense of where he was; all thoughts absent. Then, he sat up and got onto his feet…
There was a small rustle from behind Vempyremon, making her ears perk up from their low settled position on top of her head. She didn't dare move for fear of what it may have been. The rustle was never heard again, but there was a painfully strong feeling of someone else there in the forest with her. And it was right behind her. The feeling crept up along Vempyremon's backside, making her shudder violently and arch her shoulders to hide her head behind the mass of red and black hair. She turned her head a little bit, but it wasn't enough to see what it was that made itself behind her so steadily. "...Hello?" Vempyremon whispered quietly, almost to herself. She thought that she didnt say it loud enough and opened her mouth to repeat her soft spoken greeting, but then there was a loud growl back at her in response. She stood up quickly and turned around in the direction of the sound. There was no one there. The usual horror-type scenario; Vempyremon thought it was some sort of prank for being out so late. “…Devri?” She moved a little bit towards a larger brush of leaves and low hanging branches to examine the noise. “If it’s you, Devri, I swear I’m going to turn you into a eunuch.” She used a hand to push a few of the branches out of the way when a hand roughly grabbed her by the wrist. Vempyremon let out a high shriek before she was pulled into the thicket and she fought to get free. The grasp was strong and wouldn’t let her get free, and eventually made her arm numb from the lack of circulation. More she squealed, but every attempt to get away was a failure.
There was something coldly familiar about the grip. Not only rough. It was cold. She only knew one person who was cold. Kain. Vempyremon’s eyes darted towards her pursuer, who was indeed Kain, before he brought her in closer to himself with one hand still on her arm and his other hand suddenly around her waist. At first, Vempyremon thought this was some sort of joke, and she went along with it a little bit by giving a little playful smirk back. Her smirk didn’t last long before she realized Kain’s coat was unbuttoned and undershirt was missing somehow. And that look…He had the same look in his eyes as he did before they even met Lucus and Akita. “Kain, what are you doing? Shouldn’t you be…taking care of Akita? Especially now?” There was no response until several long seconds later when Kain let go of his grip on Vempyremon’s arm and joined it together with the other around her waist. “…Who is das?” It was like…some kind of sick joke. Now, Vempyremon struggled even harder, worried that Kain may have gone back to his old ways; chasing her. A lust-filled monster with love in his eyes. “Kain…you know what Lucus will do to you.” Kain’s response only shocked Vempyremon further as she widened her eyes. Could she believe what she was hearing? “I don’t know who zhat is.” …It was like Kain completely lost it. Had he suddenly been hit with amnesia? “Kain, stop it. You’re scaring me.” About now, Vempyremon had her nails against Kain’s throat and chest to try and push him away, but it felt as if he kept coming with his natural brute force. Her elbows were bent just trying to stop him, but her strength was a snail to a bear compared to Kain. By now, Kain backed Vempyremon up against a tree and head lowered to her neck. His icy cold breath sent chills up her spine, and smelled very sweet…very much like the potion he drank not too long ago. “Stop speaking such nonsense, meine Liebe. You must have had a nightmare. It’s just us now. We’re finally alone here. I know you want this as much as I do…” Without much more hesitation from Kain, and with Vempyremon being helpless in his grasp, he used his sudden advantage to knock Vempyremon on the forest floor, which was covered in dense grass and a few red and yellow flowers, providing a very soft landing for them both, to force himself upon her and finally give her his undying love.
