Often i feel like my gemstones communicate with me and have their own personalities. Not like i actually 'talk' with them, but like i can sense emotions and energies from them.
An example of this would be a time when i was holding a particularly grumpy rock in my hand, and i started playing with it, shoving it between my toes. The rock apparently didn't like it, for a second later i felt like a shock of energy and dissatisfaction flow through my body, much like being struck by a cranky lightning bolt that is also yelling at you.
Another example would be this crystal i had that everytime i would touch it, i would feel this cozy, pink-ish feeling.

Any one else have experiences like these? What is your thoughts on this?

I've had a number of crystal experiences. From learning how much this one crystal (Baby) loved my uncle, finding out that not all crystals can work together at the same time, to getting stories and even my cat's name all due to my interaction with crystals.

Fun stuff.
There are ways of using crystals in healing and energizing. But I'm not that in indepth of a crystal user. I do know that not all stones of the same type are intended for the same purpose. And even different users will get different responses from the crystal about its use and intent.

Good books to read are
Crystal awareness by Bowman
Cunningham's Encyclopedia of Crystal, Gem & Metal Magic
(glossary of crystal uses can also be found in the guild)

I haven't heart rock stories, but on a similar note, I knew a guy who said that he could feel the emotions of trees sometimes when he touched or passed them. Makes you wonder...

That's very interesting biggrin
Do the gems have to be specific?
Or is it just any in general?

I believe in rocks and trees having spirits so everyone's experiences really resonate with me. I have had several opportunities to listen to a stone spirit: I get into a receptive state and concentrate on listening specifically to whatever may come from that source. I guess I could say that rocks think rather long-term......lol. I go out of my way to visit a particular one that is a short hike from the camp of a relative.

On a related note I had my tarot workshop participants 'read' for a stone once as an exercise, treating the stone as a client. And it worked, even for those in the group that were somewhat skeptical...

Any mineral actually. Most people tend to keep to crystals and specialty stones (Jet, turquentine etc...) but even peices of road/construction gravel can have some hidden qualities that people don't pay attention to. I have a piece of granite that had been naturally tumbled smooth by a stream. It is a very calming peice to hold, but also connects me to my other crystals.

Nope. Just about any sort of gem or rock all i need to do is touch it and close my eyes and i can feel its energy.

I tried it!
I found a piece of granite,
And it had a worried feel,
I don't know why,
I guess it did just get cut though razz

did you keep the stone or was it being used for building material?

If you kept it, see how it would respond to soaking in water. If you spoil your stones, they prefer well water or non bottled spring water with an added touch of sea or rock salt in a glass basin. But if you don't have those, they will settle for cool tap water in a ceramic or metalic basin or sink. Mind you there are some that prefer the warm soak as much as we do

The soaks will help them settle, as well as balance and cleanse their energies. The length of the soak varies. Most are good after an hour or 2 some will sit for a couple of days. Depends on the amount they are used and the negativity.

we aren't supposed to understand all of it
At least not at the moment

Yea mine always feel pretty bright happy and fresh after i run them under water. Though i always did it for like a minute or so, and didn't actually let them soak. I gotta try letting them soak and see how that goes. Do you think its ok to let them soak together? Or should they take their baths separately?
