Sandgem Town is a quiet town located next to sandy beach. It is home to Prof. Rowan's Pokemon Lab. The skyline of Jubilife City is easily seen a most times of the day.

Jason walked out of Prof. Rowan's Lab. A few step outside he pulled out the Pokeball the professor had given him. He looked at it and then lightly tossed it a few feet away. A Turtwig appeared in flash of light. "Turtwig!" it said looking at him. Jason looked at the Turtwig. "I hope he knows what he's doing," he said talking about the Professor.

A Piplup came running up to Jason's Turtwig at such a high speed it didn't have time to stop and collide with it.

"Wha?" Jason said as he watched the two Pokemon collide. Turtwig quickly recovered from the hit and glared angrily at the Piplup. "Turtwig..." it said.

The Piplup returned Turtwig's glare before it began to slap it with its flipper. "Pip-lup-lup-lup!" it said as it slapped.

"Hey!" Jason said before he picked the Piplup up to separate it from his Turtwig, "What's your problem?" Turtwig shook his head to recover from its slapping.

"Piplup!" it said before leaping out of Jason's hand. It began to move towards Turtwig but a girl's voice calling it catch its attention. "Piplup!" the voice said as a girl ran to it, "There you are!" She picked it up. "Don't go running off like that!" she scolded it.

"Is that... your Piplup?" Jason asked the girl that had just appeared.

The girl smiled nervously. "Yeah..." she laughed, "It is. He's such a troublemaker. I hope he didn't hurt your Turtwig. Oh, I'm Dawn by the way!"

"I don't think it did hurt him, may have dazed him a bit," Jason answered, "I'm Jason." He held his hand out to her.
