Currently looking for crits on him to make sure I've got him in the best shape possible before looking for a stamp :3 <3


Updated April 25th~ The name Alekto really struck me due to Verithe's AWESOME post of suggestions (srsly, so much love for you <3333) when I first saw it, so HE HAS A NAME~ 8DDD <3333
Rose confirmed that Necromancy won't work, instead suggested the Undead or Skeletons based on his attacks. Gonna go for the former since that appeals to me slightly more than the latter, though if it's clear Undead just ain't gonna fly, Skeletons is right there for a back up... -knocks on wood?- X'D;;;;

Occupation :: Waiter in the restaurant portion of the Irish pub "Quinn & Sons"

Note: Should he be allowed to remain 21, I'll be changing his occupation to a bartender at the pub, and will adjust his hobbies to include the fact he's able to go into the bar section/able to buy those who beat him in darts a pint <3 If he's unable to stay at that age, then... well, everything remains as-is x'D;;

Hobbies ::

  • Darts ~ With his grandfather being a classic Irishman with a love of pubs, it didn't take long for their number one bonding experience to be playing darts in the tavern owned by Old Man Quinn. Nic often rides out to the establishment to play a few games with the patrons in the restaurant area. Sometimes, should he be there later at night off of work and business is slow, the teen will invite sober opponents to put money on the game, and often earns himself a few bucks in the process - should he lose however, his grandfather humbly buys the winner a pint as goes tradition. He does play in tournaments, though only recently was able to start playing in adult tournaments since turning 18. Since then, although he still manages to win a bit, his victory streaks aren't as grand as they were back when playing against players around his own age, he still is proud to say he can hold his own "against the geezers."

  • Motorcycles ~ Started with regular bikes from when he was a kid, one who'd rather not beg his folks for a ride to a friend's house or to a store... or really anywhere else in the city. At sixteen he got his driver's license and hopped into his dad's car whenever the man didn't need it, only to quickly realize he missed the wind in his air and pure freedom he felt on a bike - never mind the blunt fact he couldn't always have the car whenever he felt like going out. He went and got his motorcycle license soon after and now oh so happily sticks to that after his dad and grandfather surprised him with a ride of his own upon turning seventeen. He's starting to try and learn the mechanics of the bikes now, curious about maybe customizing his a bit more, if not at least being able to fix it without shelling out a ton of cash to have some jackass at a shop do it for him.

  • Kickboxing ~ With a loss of constantly pedaling himself around the city came a loss of his main means of keeping healthy and working out. As such, for the past two years he's been diligently sticking to lessons at a local place there in the city, enjoying the effect it's had on his physique. He's not as serious about it as some of the other people are that slam away at the punching bags or the couch in the ring, but he is very respectful towards the amount of dedication it takes to really excel at the sport and is starting to make more of a routine out of it the longer he does it.

  • Gaming ~ Not as huge of a hobby of his now that he's older and without a heck of a lot of time to beat the crap out of digital foes, he still gets his Xbox 360 magazine and keeps his eyes out for when new releases are scheduled to arrive to pre-order and grin over the few hours a week he can spare to... well, beat the crap out of digital foes. His Playstation 2 and Xbox 360 are his most used systems, especially the latter. He currently has no plans of getting a PS3, especially since FF13 is now on the 360. Final Fantasy ftw.

Virtues ::

  • Tolerant ~ Just living in the city has caused him to encounter a large variety of people, ranging from burly men with hearts of gold, to stick figures with scheming darting eyes, to men and women who might not have always been men and women. Nic's come to take every new encounter in stride, accepting not everyone has the same beliefs or morals he does. Might not agree with someone else's choice of lifestyle or their decisions, but he knows he has no place to comment on their lives, just as they have no place to comment on his. Should he encounter a culture, lifestyle, or simply not agree with someone's choice of soda at lunch, Nic does all he can to stick to his choice to not comment about it. His reactions range from brushing it off to flat-out leaving the room as respectfully as the situation allows, though this obviously would depend on how unnerved or angered he might be by the situation - as understanding as he tries to be, he does have limits. Finds out his best friend's gay? Cool, not his cup of tea, but Nic's relaxed with all that. You say you're into bondage? Nic might not get the appeal, but so long as you're safe (and keep it away from him, ktnx) whatever. You're gonna go hurt that cute cat for laughs? Now Nic is going to have to ask you to not do that, and if you shall not stop after that... how does a call to the cops sound?

    When it comes to the harm of innocent people or animals, bullying, or knowingly and willingly inflicting serious damage to yourself in front of him (self-mutilation, illegal drug use, etc.), he will show his open distaste for the acts, and will respond with whatever appropriate, legal, action he can to stop it. Usually he ops for calling the cops versus getting into a fight himself, but hey.

  • Composed ~ It doesn't do anyone any good to get pissed and lose your head - he's seen it happen enough times to know it brings nothing but more problems. Not to say he doesn't get flustered or upset if life gets too stressful from family drama or work - or best yet when hot heads clash in the kickboxing ring - Nic just makes sure to keep himself thinking as rationally as possible despite the situation or his own emotions towards the subject. He tries to remain as respectful and responsible as he can throughout all aspects of his life, and keeping a level-head tends to be the best foundation to do so. Rarely does he lose this aspect to him, even at home or around friends he tends to be more "mature," though easily to a much lighter degree then when dealing with customers at work or random authority figures. With family and friends he might be relaxed, laughing and joking like any other youth, but he still isn't the rowdy twenty-something his friends might be - never was, never will be. If, however, he's faced with a problem (be it a fight of any variety, or an issue with a lifestyle, etc.) he prefers to clench his fist, bristle up, and steam in silence if not all-out walk away to let out his anger on inanimate objects rather than the person pissing him off.

  • Good listener ~ Need to rant about life? Go find Nic. Perhaps it's the future bartender in him, or just his sturdy demeanor, but he hasn't a problem in the world just sitting down (or standing, or silently cleaning up the restaurant, or whatever) somewhere to listen to someone complain about any difficulties in their life. He won't comment too often, maybe asking a few lightly probing questions ("So then what happened?" "What did they say?" "X and Y did what?") or add in a minor statement ("Should it really bother you that much?" "I doubt they meant to offend you like that." "I wouldn't worry about it too much, personally.") on the situation if the speaker pauses to see if they wish to talk more or if they change the subject to something else. Unless the person bluntly asks for his opinion or for advice, though he notes this doesn't always happen too often, he won't share it too often unless he feels he's got something that really needs to be heard - the speaker is doing something illegal, dangerous, or clearly isn't clear-headed enough to think about the situation rationally, are the only times he's yet had to speak up like that about someone's problems. People don't usually get the chance to just talk and talk and know someone's actually listening and not passing judgment, so he'd much rather serve as that role for 'em if he can.


Flaws ::

  • Taciturn ~ He can be social. He can talk. He is quite alright with speaking his mind if he feels it must be heard, when lounging about with familiar faces, or giving a warm smile to customers in the restaurant or up at the bar. But usually... Nic doesn't say too much. He'll do the small talk with strangers he meets, converse about classes with old friends from high school, easily laugh or joke around with current friends or family, but the man is very much the silent type generally speaking. This tends to give off the wrong impression about him, seeming to be the dour or stern kind of guy instead of the laid-back variety he really is. He just prefers to keel his silence unless he feels it's really necessary to break it. Listening brings more answers and less problems than talking does, that's his belief.

  • Grudging ~ Again - Nic is the dude you don't hear talking unless he really feels he needs to. That's not to say he doesn't still possess a temper, just don't hear about it too often. You'll sure as hell see it, though. Quite as ever, he's actions speak louder about his mood than his words, often seen clenching his fists when angered, or rolling his shoulders with a faint frown on his face when put into a stressful situation. Maybe later he could be seen going at the kickboxing coach a littler harder than usual, or bashing that punching bag a little faster than is norm, commenting gruffly it's just "extra energy" he needs to get out. The moment he gets angered by someone, be it intentional or not, it takes days - if not pure on weeks - for Nic to finally dissipate all the pent up frustrations and anger inside of him. He doesn't let it out in one big blast, but rather little by little over time, giving him that much longer to stew in his own emotions and take that much longer to forgive who ever has wronged him.

  • Spiteful ~ Let's not get Nic mad, mmkay? We've established he can hold a grudge for a rather ridiculous amount of time, so care to think what would happen if he stumbled upon someone who got their jollies by beating up others, or if he really can't get away from a problem or fight? He might not be the best at it, but he can fight. He might not want to hurt someone, but if there is clearly no other option, so be it. He won't be happy. He'll remember that he wasn't happy. And he'll make you pay for that. Wrong Nic, and not only will you have a grudge against you, but you'll have a very malicious grudge against you to boot. If he happens to break your nose in a fight, oops... no that wasn't a smirk you just saw, no, not at all...

    When Nic has it out for someone, he still isn't one to say much about it, but very much acts on it. He won't help you if he sees you in trouble, he might as well be the one to get you in the bad situation. He will still remain mostly calm, not the type to loose his cool beyond sharp, heated words and a very obvious body language. He's thinking, still in control of his fists and words, just all with the plan that he fully intends on getting back the person.



Physical Description ::

Hair ~ A black, unruly mullet. Parted almost above the center of his left eye (facing us), the right portion is a good bit thicker and fluffier (read: puffed and wild) than that on the left side of the part, wisps of bangs hanging in his face. The style can sometimes cause his right eye to be partially covered. The rest of his hair is a definite mullet, with the long hair in back being pulled into a ponytail that reaches a little below his shoulder blades. If an example is needed, see FF7's Reno |D

Eyes ~ Purple, leaning towards the blue end of that spectrum though exact hue is CC~ o 3o Often narrowed in a more casual, if not borderline bored, expression.

Face ~ Long, narrow, not very many references left to his boyish days.

Body ~ Tall, ranging at the 6' line, a sturdy build from a healthy lifestyle and working out, especially in the last two years. His skin is classic Caucasian white, slight tan to it from riding around outside so much.

Fashion ~ Casual, really. He loves himself a good pair of well-worn jeans and equally well-worn boots, and has been known to dabble in the leather gear of the bikers that frequent the bar. Even while working he sports a pair of dark leather fingerless gloves, though when riding in the winter he switches them out for full gloves for the sake of his fingers. His left ear has four piercings up the outside of his ear, all silver hoops, except the one at the bottom - that one's a small black wing with an emerald skull, an earring that previously belonged to his mom.

Theme ~ Sorcerer, necromancer, wizard.
Main color ~ Black
Secondary ~ Bright, glowing green - found mainly in markings upon his uniform, possibly accents elsewhere?

Concept Art, Fail sketch version
Collar ~ Black, forms into a hood that's down in this stage, and a rather torn up small cape.
Tie ~ Possibly black, torn and ragged, it hangs from his skull broach.
Broach ~ A rather wicked looking skull, there is no bottom jaw, instead ending with fang-like teeth. Was inspired by the skulls seen on him.
Top ~ Tight, white save for black sections around the outside - how far they stretch to the back is up to Natsu. Over these black sections are glowing green markings, of which the exact design is again CC.
Sleeves ~ None.
Bottoms ~ Black tights, perhaps kind of torn up? Tuck into his boots.
Tiara ~ Silver, perhaps some sort of play off a crown of thorns/bones?
Choker ~ Classic black
Shoes ~ Reminicent of these, however they reach up to perhaps above his knees? At the top of them would be more skulls, around them (at least at the very top of the boots) more glowing green markings. In the concept art, I've got their eyes glowing as well, but this obviously isn't necessary XP;; The exact design of the boots is up to Natsu.
Gloves ~ I'm thinkin' majority black, love the concept of the ones this guy is wearing. Bound up, loose over the hands, coming to a point over his middle finger... their design can be changed slightly <3
Accessories ~ The biggest thing is his belt, from which hangs the sharp, dart-like bones he uses in his attacks. Would like he kept his earrings from his civilian form, and any additional skulls, glowing markings, emeralds, etc., are up to Natsu.

Normal Senshi Attack:
Name :: Grasp from the Grave
What it does ~ Breaking off a small bone from his belt, Alekto flicks it into the ground, most likely near his opponent's feet. Speaking the name of the attack, the ground within a three foot radius of where the small bone landed turns a dark, sort of glowing green and around three or four skeletal arms (hands till just before the elbow) shoot out from beneath the soil to wildly and blindly grab at anything standing within their reach. From the time of their rise till they disintegrate into dust is about two to three minutes (two of his posts), regardless of if they manage to grab a hold of someone or not. Enemies and allies alike can be grabbed by the hands, even Alekto if he gets knocked into them. The attack can be avoided by getting out of the range of the hands, but the hands themselves are very difficult to break. Loose clothing can be snagged by them, and possibly ripped to enable the target to escape. He can do this twice per battle, and must wait for one of his posts to pass after the first attack is done before using it again.

Super Senshi Attack:
Name :: Reach from the Grave
What it does ~ Same attack as before, same means of summoning. However, he now breaks off two small bones to flick into the same patch of ground, the radius around them has been increased to six feet, allowing for six or seven full skeletal arms (hands all the way down to a shoulder joint clearly visible to a skeletal body still beneath the ground) to wave around to try and grasp a target. Despite if they manage to grab a hold of someone or not, the skeletal arms will disintegrate into dust after three to four minutes (three of his posts), and can still capture allies or Alekto himself.

Like before, if loose clothing is snagged, the one caught can rip the clothing to enable themselves to escape as actually breaking the skeletons is rather difficult once caught. Also unlike before, the fingers of the arms are sharper, making it possible for whomever is caught to be scratched as the arms cling to them. The worst damage they can cause is deep scratches, though a deep gouge might take place if there is nothing to protect the flesh and the victim is struggling a great deal. The attack can be dodged by moving out of the slightly glowing green infected ground or out of the range of the arms themselves.

He can use his attack twice per battle, but must wait for two of his posts to pass after the first one is finished before he can use it again. Or, if Alekto desires, instead of throwing the two small bones into the same patch of ground, he can throw them into two separate areas to activate two Grasp from the Graves. By this, he can use Grasp from the Grave four times per battle, but must wait for two of his posts to pass before he can use each one after another if he doesn't just use them two at a time.

Eternal Senshi Attack:
Name :: Rise from the Grave
What it does ~ This time from his belt, Alekto breaks off a single skull (looking eerily like the the shape his broach takes) that hangs from it amongst the small pieces of bone, throwing it to the ground before him. Taking out five small bones, he flicks them into the ground around the skull, each forming a point in a five-pointed star. Speaking the name of the attack, glowing green lines form between each of the small bones, forming the star and causing the skull to glow and shake. A skeleton rises from beneath the skull, a minion for Alekto to order around as he wishes.

The skeleton cannot attack the same post it is summoned, but must wait till Alekto's next post to be able to strike. It's fingers are long, bone claws, it's skull without a lower jaw but with long fang-like teeth - much like Alekto's broach. It can endure three strikes of an attack from someone on equal power level to Alekto, otherwise will disintegrate into dust after five of his posts after first being summoned, leaving only it's skull behind. While it is around, it serves as attack dog and bodyguard for Alekto, delivering strikes with its claws and trying to bite anyone it can get close to while also trying to take as many hits for Alekto as possible.

The skeleton's claws can be avoided, but opponents beware. The skeleton has the same speed and strength as Alekto, though it should be noted it has no means of logic. It does not faint attacks, or any other form of trickery the living are capable of in a fight, so dodging is easily possible for those able to think on their feet. Keeping their distance from Alekto is useful as well, as after a 15 foot radius, the skeleton cannot travel any further from its master - think of it like an invisible wall it cannot pass. Alekto can order the skeleton to protect others who are in his 15 foot zone, but each attack it takes still counts for its disintegration cap.

Three posts after the skeleton falls, Alekto can summon it once more to the battle, but no more after that.

Family ::
Father ~ Liam Quinn, age 44. Since his wife's death two years prior, Liam has stopped working at the pub with his father, instead taking a job in construction to completely alienate himself from the family business. Many who knew Liam before and after the tragedy comment he doesn't seem as fun-loving and rowdy as he used to be. He has recently been known to slip into depressions more than usual, something that has everyone around him on edge. Especially Nic and Aindreas, with whom he now has strained relationships - though "non-existent" would be currently more appropriate when speaking of the relationship between Liam and his father.

Grandfather ~ Aindreas Quinn, age 70. Also known as "Old Man Quinn," he is the owner and proprietor of "Quinn & Sons." He's a rough edged old Irish coot with a heart of gold, one with no problem giving a thug of a man a pint with a rowdy laugh one moment, then throwing him to the street the next should he catch the man trying to pick a fight in his joint. He's all for a little innocent roughhousing, of course, but take it too close to the restaurant portion of Quinn's and he'll be quick to snap the trouble at the root. His fondness for his grandson is obvious, willing to spend as much time as he can with Nic when bar tending or general upkeep of the pub doesn't need his prime attention. Since Liam's depression took a rather nasty turn for the worse, Nic has been spending a great deal more time with his grandfather, something Aindreas is perfectly fine with as he himself holds no contact with his bitter son. It should be noted though, he is in no way fond of the bad blood Liam has caused, but believes only Liam can be the one to fix it.

Mother ~ Elizabeth Quinn, deceased at age 39. While driving home from her job at Quinn's, she was struck by an oncoming car. Sadly, Beth didn't survive the accident and was pronounced DOA. While living, she had been a big supporter of the family-run pub owned by her father-in-law, working there as a bookkeeper herself. Her perky nature and tough attitude made her quite welcomed amongst the preexisting staff and patrons, even before her relationship with Liam.


Quinn & Sons :: Often called either "Quinn's" or "Quinnson's," Nic's grandfather bought and refurbished the joint not long after first arriving to Destiny City. A classic Irish pub with a twist, it sports a fully stocked bar in the back, a separate room for pool tables, a well-staffed kitchen, and the rest of the establishment is dedicated to a family-orientated restaurant, which is first encountered upon entering the pub. It is here younger waiters and waitresses are welcomed to work, provided any alcoholic orders be carried out by the elder staff on hand.

It is here Nic works as a waiter himself, though only in the restaurant portion, playing darts during his breaks and helping his grandfather with whatever he legally can.

Unfortunately, Charon is a moon that's canonly important and can't be used as a senshi name. Sorry! You'll need to find another planet/asteroid/moon/space object for your senshi. :c

HOBBIES:
Darts: I like the darts throwing hobby, but take out the pub part. It's fine when it's just him and his G-pa kicking back off hours, but during pub hours? Illegal. Even if it's family owned. He also can't just 'buy them a pint'. Take out those parts. Otherwise, interesting hobby.

Motorcycle: Just as a point of reference, getting a license for motorcycles isn't that hard depending where you live. Destiny City is in VAUGELAND USA, so just say 'soon after' or something. Six months is CRAZY LONG to me. IDK. OVERALL ITS FINE.

Kickboxing: 's cool. Keep it as a hobby. Don't make it into something he does LIKE A BOSS until he turned senshi

Gaming: I HATE YOU. PS3 FTW NAW DAWG. Also cool.


VIRTUES
Tolerant- Again, wouldn't be in a pub as a kid. Tweak a bit. Just living in a city is usually something that makes a kid generally tolerant, but what REALLY makes this a virtue? When he disagrees with a lifestyle, how does he react? Why does her react that way? Expand a little bit.

Composed- Take out pub. What sets him off or makes him loose his cool? When fdoes he just relax and drop his composure?

Good listener- What makes him a good listener? When would he feel the need to comment? What if they're talking about something he'd not comfortable with?

FLAWS:
Taciturn: Edit a bit, because right now, he's coming off as wall flower. Nothing wrong with a silent character, but even silent types do speak up. Good wording overall. Just make him a tad more open.

Grudging: What sets him off? I like how he's the type to go and get rid of it over long periods of time. You've played that well, but. He's still got a fuse. What happens when the fuse runs out? Because even pent up anger is prone to bursting.

Proud: Kind of left field TBH. His other traits allow this laid back, silent gut who might kind of be a bit spiteful. In fact, I think spiteful might be a good flaw? Being the type to hold a grudge? That's just me.

As for powers, and sphere, I'd PM Rose or someone in charge is such a sphere is okay, given it's basis (dealing with life/death/beyond) While necromancy is the art or practice of calling the dead forth, it's still a sphere to be wary of. I'd say ask Rose or someone.

-searchsearchsearching- I'm wondering if Nix is a cop-out ;;; -shot- Actually kind of like that name though SO HMM.... -not many male fitting names out there that fit ze theme, she's findin'-

@ Vamps-ness ~ JUST MY INSERT ABOUT THE PUB STUFF: He's more in the restaurant area of it when all the stuff goes down, since yeah, bar = illegal area till he's 21. HE SEES THE s**t GO DOWN, LISTENS IN TO THEIR CHATTER, and all around just talks to his grandpa from just outside the bar area were he's legal. I'll still edit stuff to take that out though to make it legit and not need a crap-ton of background X'D;;

Just another thing I noticed, after coming back. His mom was killed two years ago by a drunk driver? TBH, I don't see him realistically still wanting pub connections or even encounters with possibly drunk patrons. If anything, he would still be grieving in one way or another. I would really consider re-thinking this aspect of your character.

Just a list of possible senshi name ideas, in case you're still looking:
Anubis (Asteroid) - named after an Egyptian god of death and embalming.
Nycticorax (Asteroid) - while named after a species of heron, the name actually means "night crow"
Nyctimene (Asteroid) - Name means "Night Moon" and is named after a Greek princess who, after having an incestuous relationship with her father, was transformed into an owl.
Sycorax (Moon) - Named after a witch mentioned in Shakespeare's The Tempest.
Caliban (Moon) - Named after Sycorax's son from the same play.
Hela (Asteroid) or Hel (Asteroid) - both named after Hel, the Norse goddess of the dead and also the name of her realm.
Louhi (Asteroid) - Possibly named after Louhi, a witch queen, or Louhi a Finnish death goddess.
Rhadamanthus (Trans-Neptunian Object) - a judge in the underworld
Velez (Asteroid) - While not actually named after him, Veles was the god of many things, including the underworld and magic.
Baroni (Asteroid) - While not actually named after them, you could use the name to refer to any of the Voodoo death loa who are given the title "Baron", such as Baron Cimetière, Baron La Croix or Baron Samedi.
Sawiskera (companion object) - The evil twin of Teharonhiawako in Iroquois myth.
Orcus (Kuiper belt object) - Roman god of death
Vanth (satellite of Orcus) - Etruscan god who leads souls to the afterlife
Ijiraq (Moon) - An Inuit monster
Circe (Asteroid) - Greek witch/goddess of magic
Alekto (Asteroid) - One of the Greek furies
Cyane (Asteroid) - Greek nymph who tried to prevent the abduction of Persephone by Hades
Atropos (Asteroid) - One of the Greek fates; charged with cutting the thread of life
Medea (Asteroid) - Mythical Greek witch, sometimes a priestess of the goddess Hecate, who killed her own children

Upped his age (he just works better as an adult 8<;; <3), fixed up some of his family info, added more stuff to his flaws/virtues... only now I'm debating how I wanna write Spiteful so I don't make it sound like Grudging... or even if the two can be separate flaws o.O We shall see, I suppose.
