Tana's ears twitched uneasily as his golden eyes darted around. He hadn't slept well since he left the safety of the swamps. True, there had been a great deal of danger and unhappiness in the swamps as of late...but it was where he had been born. He knew the paths and dangers, knew what to expect this out here....this was a whole different world.
He knew why he had to go, it was tradition and an important one but that didn't make it any easier on the young male. He left behind his mother and young brother, both of whom he worried about all the time. True Ila was there and true his siblings might have doubts about the big male...but he had seen the tenderness in Ila's eyes when he spoke of Kuba, knew what he had given up to be with his mother. He knew he would protect her with his life.
Shaking his head to brush his scraggly blue mane from his eyes, he watched the setting sun with just a touch of horror. It meant another night out here where even the calls of birds were different enough to alarm him.

Nazar flicked his tail around as he sniffed around the area. He wanted to make sure that the area was safe enough for him and his cubs. He felt as if he picked a good place for him and his daughters to live in for the next few days. It about about the time that him and his daughters settled for a few days, he was looking forward to this rest, he had been wanting it for a long time now. Others looked at him like he was crazy, with him saying that he liked his rest but then turning around saying that he really didn't want to settle down. He liked to travel but he also liked his rest.
He yawned slightly before flicking his hair out of his his eyes with a smile on his face. He was in a surprisingly good mood for the day he had to admit. He flicked his tail around before wandering into a clearing. He was looking for water too, waterwas a good thing to be near and he knew that he didn't want his children going with out water he couldn't do that to his girls. He loved them way too much to let them lack anything that was important to their life.
He looked around before he heard the sound of sticks cracking and also the sound of some one else's footsteps. It caught him off guard but not too much. He turned around and looked at the other male before arching a brow at him. "Who are you?" He asked.

Tana's head jerked up startled as he stared at the black male that seemed to have appeared out of nowhere. "I'm sorry! Am..am I trespassing?" The youngster didn't look like much of a threat, even as a sub-adult the top of his head barely came up to the black male's chin. The tuffs of his mane weren't even completely grown in yet.
"I'm Tana, son of Kabusha from the swamplands." He was proud to be his mother's son...even if the other didn't know who his mother was. "I am sorry if I am trespassing I will go..." His mother and Ila had both warned him about straying onto other pride's lands. He had no desire to tangle with any kind of guard.

Nazar looked at the male and cocked his head, the male's surprise caught him off guard. He flicked his tail around a few times. It was a younger male he would feel a little bad about picking a fight with him. he arched a brow at the male, watching him carefully as he did he didn't want the male to pick a fight either. He was interesting something about him just screamed pride. The thought of that amused him, he never was one for prides. He knew for the fact that he didn't like prides, not after the time with his brother, oh no, not after his brother. Not after that pride.
He flicked his hair out of his eyes before shaking his head. "No." He said simply eye him again. He was a male and he was some what close to his daughter's age. He huffed slightly before nodding at the male. "I won't have any problem with you as long as you stay away from my daughters." He arched a small brow at him. He sat back on his haunches as he watched the male, he didn't want to see some one with his daughters wandering around with some guy! Then again he didn't like the idea of his daughters growing up at all they were his babies!
"My name is Nazar of... the roguelands." He wasn't that sure what was up with all of the formal stuff but he knew one thing was for sure he wasn't going to say who his parents were, he wasn't that proud of him. He really wasn't proud of any of his family except for his children, he would always be proud of his children even if they were fling children that he would most likely never see again.

He gulped looking nervously up at the larger male, well at least he seemed friendly, not a savage barbarian like he was told that all outlanders were. When Nazar warned him away from his daughter's, Tana's golden eyes widened in surprise for a moment before he remembered he wasn't in the swamps anymore. At home no one would have warned him away from a female, mostly because few thought of him as old enough to be interested due to his small size.
"No sir! I would never hurt a lady, my momma would skin me alive and feed me to the crocs!"

Nazar flicked his hair out of his eyes as he looked down at the male thinking as he did, he wasn't that sure how to treat him. He really wasn't used to running into pride lions. Not many of them were around where he wandered. Sure he ran into SOME pridal lions but not many. Zuri was a pridal lion now that he thought of it. But then again he never went on her pridelands, he really never wandered into any pride lands.
He looked down at the smaller male curious of him before chuckling softly. "Good. thats all that matter then." He smiled slightly. He normally didn't like other males but this one didn't seem to be that bad. The way it seemed his mother raised him with respect and that was really good. That was always really good. He stood up a little straighter. "Are you lost or something?" He asked curiously, he was wondering why the male was out of his pride anyway. to him there wasn't much of a reason to leave a pride.when he was younger he really never lfet his pride that often, only with his mom some times. But that was a while ago. He quickly started to chase everything out of his mind before he started to over think things.

Tana risked a timid smile as he stood up his full height, which was for an adol male...rather on the short side. "I am on my name quest. You see when we reach a certain age we are sent out in the world to find out who we really are and what kind of adults we can be. "
He shrugged faintly, "I suppose it could be kinda of confusing for someone not raised in the swamps...but we believe that the name you are given as a child does not general reflect the adult you are growing to be. "

Nazar looked a little confused at the other male trying to figure out what he was going to say. He was trying his hardest to comprehend why this would happen. He flicked his hair out of his eyes then shook his head. "I really don't get why one would change the name their parents give them. It shows what you are meant to be." He nodded at the idea then shrugged chuckling slightly. "I guess if it's part of the pride I makes sense. I won't question it."
He then arched a small brow a the male curious about something. "Are you lost?" He asked wanting to make sure that this male wasn't Compeltly clueless. The young lion was nice enough and the fact that he was nice he wanted to make sure that he was at least not going to do something stupid because he was lost.

Tana laughed faintly shaking his blue mane out of his eyes, "Thank you for your concern but since I have never been out of the swamps before everything is new to me. So I can go any direction and not really be lost because it is just a new way to go!"
At first he had been reluctant to leave home, his mother and Wahadi needed him, but he had to go and now that he was out here on his own, Tana found he quiet liked it. Certainly he missed his family, yet it was also nice not to have to fight with 6 others for a spot to sleep or for the best part of a meal.

Nazar chuckled slightly before shrugging at the idea stretching his legs out more before looking at him with a deep chuckle. "Are you sure? If there is a direction you want to go I can point you in that direction." He thens shrugged the idea off of his mind before letting out a small yawn as he pushed his body so he was standing straight up and then flicked his mane out of his eyes. "Are you sure that you don't need any kind of help?" He questioned once more. He was in a very good mood there was proof in the fact that he wanted to help the male. He didn't want to help that many others. he wasn't really nice to that many other.

Tana's smile was easier the second time around, " Actually if you could tell me the direction of some friendly prides, ones that wont kill me for trespassing on their lands I would greatly appreciate it. I have always been interested in how other families live."
Tana knew when he finally returned to the swamps...he would likely never leave again. It was where his heart was, his family and friends, and it was the home he dreamed of when he thought about living out his life but that didn't mean he wasn't curious about the rest of the world. It was what the naming quest was about, seeing new things and learning new ways.

Nazar paused for a moment as he thought about the question before turning toward the other male and nodding. "I think there is." He looked up trying to remember what the direction was for the nearest pride that was friendly. "I think there is one not that far from here. Toward the east." He nodded in the direction before turning back toward the male. "I'm pretty sure there is one anyway." He thought for a moment about the one lioness he ran into. "There is another once bt the ocean, if you feel like traveling some. "The ocean is kind of further away but if you're going to be out here for a while you should ahve time."
He thought again before turning back toward the male and nodding again. "It's really beautiful, and the lions are really friendly." He then paused again and smiled. "If you are from the swamps you may like it, it's a different scenery. And there are plenty of places to stop on the way where no one would bother you."

Tana's smile widened as his eye danced with exictement. A friendly pride that lived by the ocean, that was just perfect. He had heard his mother speak of the ocean once a long time ago, said it was like the lake but only much, much, much larger.
"Thank you so much Nazar! I think I will head that way, I have always wanted to see the ocean and that they are friendly it the perfect excuse to go visit."

Nazar nodded to the young make he was alittle surprised at how excited the male was. To a point he was also just realived that the male wasn't going to stick around here where his daughters were. He paused before speaking again. "No problem." He stood up straight on his legs before nodding to the male. "Just make sure you don't get lost, it's a pretty straight way, but don't get distracted." He stretched his legs some before nodding again. "Good luck Kid." He nodded before turning around as he started to head back toward his family.
