The lack of literacy disgusts me. It's also against the rules.

A Shade of Darkness The lack of literacy disgusts me. It's also against the rules. You know, in my book, that was a really d**k thing to say. You could just said "Hey why not look at the rules and next time please try to remember that you need to be literate." I'm just a member but seriously, that was a d**k move.

Numerous announcements and changes to the rules have been put out regarding this exact topic. I was toning it down, and giving a subtle hint.
The fact that I did not ban or warn them formally was nice. Please do not misunderstand me.
As a writer, I do not tolerate lack of literacy. As a crew member, I will do or say what is necessary to fix the problem, rather than ban someone without warning. I will give them time to fix the problem for later encounters, but I will note this transgression for a later time if repeated.

I myself am a writer but no one is a perfect writer. I slip up often when I'm either too tired or trying to do a quick reply. Now I'm not meaning to argue but, since I'm not sure if you saw my post in the guild rules, I run/help run several guilds and that was the harshest way I have seen anyone tell some one about their literacy. No one is perfect and the way I see it, you are trying to get them to be. But that must just be me.

I've participated in the running and creation and ownership of over thirty guilds. I understand that I sound like a total a*****e. The point is that such writing will not be tolerated. The occasional mistake is acceptable, but if you purposefully forgo proper spelling, you will be banned after repeat offense.
Grammar is another issue, and while I'd like for people to understand, I won't force that in full. As long as it's understandable.
What is not okay is that you challenge my authority over this. If you have an issue with how I'm running things, send me a PM citing what you believe can be changed, and I will consider it for my future endeavors.
I am not trying to instill "perfect writing" but enforce the rules put forth in the guild. If you have a problem with me enforcing guild rules and informing people that they must make an attempt to write semi-properly, as that is among the rules, you can leave the guild.
I stand by my opinion that if it's added into the rules and the rules are broken after the fact, the person is to be assumed to deliberately be breaking them, and is thus a nuisance. If you can't read the goddamn rules, you shouldn't be in the guild in the first place. They are very lenient, in my opinion, and thus if you simply attempt to read them, you shouldn't have a problem.
Now, to avoid any further issues, I am locking down this thread. If you wish to file a complaint, please PM me and I will read what you have to say. I can be very rational when I like to be.
