Well I use GIMP. Took me like 5-10 minutes to download and pretty similar to photoshop. You can download a lot of nice brushes if you need them too and of course, it's free ;3 also has the tools you need like smudge, dodge and burn, path select and layers. o.o anyway good luck

Downloading Free programs is for n00bs.
Go to google. Then look up SumoPAINT. It is like the upgraded version of Photoshop. You don't need to download it, as it uses a client. And if you make an account, you can save to the account, or if you don't want to save to an account, save to your computer.
If you look through their gallery, it is filled with amazing creations used with simply this one program.
Nevermind then, was gonna say something, but there are other means of obtaining programs. 'Tis how I do it.

If this was a joke then I understand but it's extremely hard to tell if it's a joke or not on the internet, in case you haven't noticed.

considering that's also a download program, sorta makes you a 'n00b' too ._. and I'm not stupid I know it exists. And in your opinion it may be the best, but other people might find something way better. Also, don't go referring to us as 'free' program people because that also means you, since it sounds like you use it. Anyway discussion over. Sorry for the mini argument Shokotsku ^-^''

Gimp Paint.Net or Paint Tool SAI
All are great programs.
And downloading free isn't just for n00bs. Geez! There are some of us that don't have the money to buy photoshop and who only use drawing programs for a hobby, not for money.

I know a lot of people who have the latest versions of Photoshop, and they say Sai is far better, and I tend to agree. By far the best blending tool out there.

Sorry for the mini argument Shokotsku ^-^'' Yes, it's optional DL. Or, you can just open it with a client, like I already said. And then when that's opened up, it's running off the website. And no, I don't use free DL'd programing. I'm using Photoshop and SumoPAINT. However, I haven't drawn any worthwhile art in a while, thus why no one has seen any in this guild. I need a tablet -_-

Gimp I used a lot for deleting backgrounds, also when I first started out I used it for screen toning my web manga.
Photoshop I used to color at first and make wallpapers. But for some reason I didn't like the way it colored so I switched to using open canvas the movement feels a little bit more freed up and my coloring comes out cleaner. Its also great for doing linearts.

I jump on the free-download train.
GIMP 2.6 and thereforth. Great program once you get the hang of it, it's just as good as any other program like photoshop, when you know how to operate it.
