For HG/SS, anyway.
As for me, it took me 14 hours and 38 minutes to beat the Elite Four, while refraining from using the Red Gyara and Lugia. I used a balanced team of five trained Pokémon, and one untrained meat shield.
I'll post up the time for beating Red, once I get there.
Team levels, after the challenge: Ampharos (Lv. 42), Noctowl (Lv. 34), Ursaring (Lv. 33), Miltank (Lv. 35), Quagsire (Lv. 41), and Typhlosion (Lv. 39). Ursaring was untrained, and was a replacement for a level 32 Weepinbell.

I'll post up the time for beating Red, once I get there. You ran through that way too fast. lol I'm 30 something hours in and heading to the Elite 4, but I also stopped off for some EV training, did a ton of trading and mixing records with my other games and just sort of left it open and running while doing other things. lol Spent 3-4 hours alone just on that voltorb flip mini game. That was fun for me. The worst thing was all the soft resetting for my Gyarados and Lugia crying even though they weren't even included in my game time. But ya I took my time. I wanted to enjoy the game since I bought 2 copies and let someone else play the second copy. Plus I'll wait till the Kanto Guide to come out before I head to Kanto. I don't know why... just am.

Oh, I was in a sort of contest with a friend of mine, who eventually gave up- he said I ran through too fast, and he surrendered. rofl
Beat the Elites with... uh. Five Pokémon trained, I think. Weepinbell just wasn't cutting it, in the end, so I replaced it with a meat shield (AKA: Ursaring) that I let die during the Elites. That bought me time to heal my actual team members during those matches. ._.

In the old games I just ran through with Feraligatr as my only pokemon the rest were meat shields. That way I can take down all the elite four with one pokemon. However 14 hours is hard to beat if you even it out. My highest was around 10 hours. After that it got tougher. Then when I got to Diamond I said screw it and started collecting ribbons and EV training. Since I collected almost all the pokemon from Fire Red, Leaf Green, Emerald, and so on. My pokedex was up to....455 pokemon in total by the time I emptied my boxes. >.> Most of the missing pokemon were event pokemon like mew and darkrai. I found a way to get Celebi without cheating if you would like to hear. You need Emerald for this.

Augh, I can't stand favoritism, like that. It's just... not fun. :/ After a while, you're just tromping through, tearing up everything in your path like nothing. Where's the fun? Where's the finesse? rofl
Posting up my team momentarily.

It's funny cause they are always shocked when they lose. Also for HG SS use Feraligatr teach it and ice move and you basically beat the game...unless they changed something in battles... >.>

...Huh. Anyone know how to validate Elite times without taking a picture with a camera?
'Cause I haven't been able to move on in good conscience without finding a way to log this time.

I guess I was just having too much fun. Lol took me till 36 hours to get through everything. Or should I say, I took 36 hours to get through everything to get to the Elite 4.
A lot of that time was trading. I traded a LOT cause I'm trying to migrate some of my pokes to this game to take on the battle frontier.
