Ugh.....Gaia......I keep trying to hold my love for you, and yet you keep doing all these things to disappoint me.

In case you have not seen yet, Gaia has decided to have forums dedicated to what really matters in the world - Twilight, Lost, American Idol, Alice In Wonderland (I actually like Alice in Wonderland, but it's only on there because of the movie), and someone named Justin Bieber (who I don't know, probably some other celebrity I'm suppose to care about).

What's wonderful is that they put them on top of the list of forums, as if they're the most important forums.

Also, it was pleasant to see how the Twilight forum front page was filled with 90% hate and 10% idiots.

So, you can tell my opinion of the new forums, what's yours?

I'm almost NEVER into the 'in' stuff so it means nothing to me. Everyone knows there's only one kind of 'hot' I'm interested in. burning_eyes

And I don't know who Justin Bieber is either. I saw his name mentioned on a commercial on the Disney Channel once, I assume he's a singer? confused

Justin Bieber is some 12-year-old singer that looks like a girl. And thinks he's 'gangsta'.

i first heard the name Justin Butterbur, Biaper, or whatever the hell his name is when i was at an elementary school helping my mom out with an event the charity she works for was running a couple weeks ago. a bunch of the kids were requesting some song by him (since some people from the radio station were there reporting the event), but i wouldn't have been able to pick it out one bit from all the other mainstream pop they were playing. i've been seeing the name pop up on the odd occasion since, and i have yet to find out who this person is.

as for having forums dedicated to "popular" topics, i'm sorry, but i think it's a stupid idea, and i would still think it's a stupid idea if they decided to have forums dedicated solely to certain anime or video games. maybe as a one-time thing to promote something like Gaia has done before, but not a permament thing. i don't see the main forums as being focused on any particular thing. that's what guilds are for. if you want to discuss Twilight and other stuff with other fans/haters, go do it in a guild. it's not THAT much more difficult to go join a guild rolleyes

EDIT: crap. just looked up that Bieber kid. he's Canadian. as if we didn't have enough music artists to apologize about.

I'm usually not into things that are "trendy" or "hot"
I don't even listen to the radio anymore unless it's
the rock station or the oldies station. So any new
music, I haven't heard. And I've been that way for
almost 7 years. I also don't like alot of reality TV
shows except for Dancing with the Stars.

So this new forum is just bleh to me.
I guess it's Gaia's way of trying to reach
an audience that isn't really welcomed on here.

i think the overall idea of having a "hot topics" forum is a good one. it keeps people updated with what's supposedly popular in the world to date.

the part that bothers me about it, is it's geared towards the 12 - 16 age range audience. i mean, i know Gaia has a wide range of users, but only catering to the tweenboppers is a little biased. i could really care less about twilight and justin beiber.
