CAVALRY DIVISION

Lacking in a specific pre-designated Special Forces unit of it's own, the Mechanized Division instead incorporates extra training necessary to exploit Mechanized Infantry- These Mechanized Infantry are, known as, Cavalry. Of course, this is the modern day interpretation of the Cavalry, using armored transport to carry units into battle, and to rapidly integrate the use of airborne, mechanized, and infantry units. Each Cavalry Unit Will need to have done the following-

-Completed Marksmen Training
-Completed Mechanized Training
-If roleplaying involves helicopters or airplanes, complete basic Airman Training
-Present Excellency in your actions
-Complete the Necessary Requirements for your specific job

For everything else, go to the Integration area.

Basic Information

Cavalry (from French cavalerie, cf. cheval 'horse'), were soldiers or warriors who fought mounted on horseback. Cavalry were historically the third oldest (after infantry and chariotry) and the most mobile of the combat arms. A soldier in the cavalry is known by a number of designations such as cavalryman or trooper.

From earliest times cavalry had the advantage of improved mobility, making it an

llllllll"Instrument which multiplied the fighting value of even the smallest forces, allowing them to outflank and avoid, to surprise and overpower, to retreat and escape according to the requirements of the moment."

The mobility and shock value of the cavalry was greatly appreciated and exploited in the Ancient and Middle Ages armed forces, and some consisted mostly of the cavalry troops, particularly in nomadic societies of Asia, notably the Mongol armies. In Europe cavalry became increasingly armored cavalry and eventually became known for the mounted knights.

In the period between the World Wars, many cavalry units were converted into motorized infantry and mechanized infantry units, or reformed as tank troops. Historically, cavalry was divided into light and armored cavalry and Horse archers. The differences were mainly the size of the mount, and how much armor was worn by the mount and rider, and the active role they played in war.

Early light cavalry (like the auxiliaries of the Roman army) were typically used to scout and skirmish and to cut down retreating infantry and for defeating enemy missile troops. Armored cavalry like the Byzantine Cataphract were used as shock troops—they would charge the main body of the enemy and in many cases, their actions decided the outcome of the battle, hence the later term "battle cavalry".

Since the development of armored warfare the distinction between light and heavy armor has persisted basically along the same lines. Armored cars and light tanks have adopted the reconnaissance role while medium and heavy tanks are regarded as the decisive shock troops.

CAVALRY UNITS

Basic Mission Objectives

The Cavalry focuses on integrating ground troops, mechanized units, and light aircraft into an extremely transportable and capable unit. The unit utilizes the direct combination of Air, Infantry, and Mechanized units to achieve ground objectives. The unit serves as both an Armored Division, a Mechanized Carrier group, a paratrooper group, and a basic infantry group. Given the required roles and jobs required of the individuals in the group, and the cross roles and very specific objectives required by the Cavalry, specific, vague, and somewhat extensive training is required by the group. In order for the group to achieve it's objective efficiently and effectively, a great deal of training is required by the units, leading it to a "Special Forces" designation to the group. As well, the utmost high quality training and performance in weaponry and vehicles is required and viewed as a staple, leading it's over all quality of group to be higher than that of which is just inherently required by the forces.
