Tyzaeph gave a grunt, lifting his head to rip and apple from one of the few trees around him. He was alone for the first time in a long while, Delphy off on her own adventures. Lets just say the stallion did not like being alone. Being alone meant he had time to think, and thinking was never good when he was involved. He was upset because he'd left his son and his mother because of his fears, taking his daughter and fleeing into the night. He'd never expected their relationship to work out, but he didn't think he would be that much of a coward to run out on them. In the process, he'd taken Delphy from her mother, and caused her pain, something he never thought he would do.
The stallion heaved a sigh, flicking his tail as he settled back on the ground. Boy, he really didn't need to think anymore...

Wandering alone gave a stallion time to think... Time to wonder, to worry, to plan, to muse... To wonder again.. To second-guess decisions.. To decide that things said were the wrong things, things unsaid should have been stated... Too much time to do all of these things, Ballad had figured not long into this adventure.. An adventure that had taken him through different lands and past different landmarks until he didn't really know where he was anymore... Except away from home. And unlike most creatures, Ballad didn't think of a land as 'home', not really.. He hadn't thought of a land has home for a long time.. For a long time, home had been only one thing.. Home was one heart, if he had to choose it.. One heart, the heart of his mate. And without her, his heart was gone, his home was gone, and his life was empty. And so he searched for her. He moved through the fields and forest of their homeland, considered the valleys and the fallen cities, moved on through the mountains and the rivers to this new land.. And still this land had mountains.. Forests.. Fields.. Glens.. Rivers and streams to cross.. Valleys and gorges to pass through or find a way around.. Endlessly changing landscapes, no sign of his home. But that was why he was looking for a few friends in this land -that, and so he wouldn't be so lonely- to help... The scent of another made him hesitate mid-step. "Hello?"

The alicorn turned toward the voice, blue eyes narrowing slightly. Ty folded his wings, taking a few steps toward the voice. "Hello?" The stallion paused, smiling when the ground male came into view. Ah, no threat then. "Hello there..." He rumbled, eyes taking in the males markings. Boy did those look like Aveshar's markings or what...
With a smile, Ty hoped the male wasn't threatened by him. He didn't want his size to make this male nervous, even if his visitor gave off the aura that he was twice Ty's size. This male was a tough customer, whoever he was.
He also looked like he was lost, missing something... Maybe Ty could help. He was good with directions.

Ballad was of decent size considering he was simply a 'groundwalker'. A muscular body that was toned and fit after such travel as he'd been through in the last few weeks... Months, really.. He'd been searching for his love for months, and nothing... That was a depressing thought, was it not? For all his wandering and searching, the Song could not find his Dream. The greeting was somewhat questioning, though it clarified when they caught sight of each other. There then, a true hello. Ballad considered the male who had just come into sight with interest, from the horn on his head to the wings on his back, and then the tail. The tail of a lion, how interesting. There was no reason for him to fight this stranger, so he relaxed as well, nodding. He offered a tentative smile as he spoke, deciding to take the lead in conversation in the hopes he might find some useful information. "Good day to you, Stranger..." He murmured in his usual kind tone. "My name is Ballad, and pardon if I intrude upon your solitude, it was not my intention.. But I am a wanderer from another land, seeking a mare with markings not unlike my own, perchance, have you seen her?"

When the stranger smiled and relaxed, Ty returned the smile with one of his own. He folded his wings to his sides, tail twitching behind him. "No need to call me stranger, My name is Tyzaeph." The alicorn dipped his head in a greeting, before locking his eyes back with the males. "Its a please Ballad."
"Bah..." Ty rolled his neck, smiling at Ballad. "No problem sir." At the mention of a mare, with marking like his, Ty blinked. Had he? Once, but it was a while ago... The only one who he'd seen recently with those same markings was Aveshar...
"Like yours? Once before, many moons ago sir... I must say, she's not the first to come to mind when I see your markings. There is another..."

Months ago? What if she'd already left this place then? What if he'd missed his chance? No... He mustn't think like that, if he did, he'd drive himself mad wondering. And that would do him no good at all. No, his love had to be here still... There was still hope, more hope then before, even... If the mare this stallion had seen was his love. "Pleasure to meet you as well then, Tyzaeph." An interesting name for an interesting stallion. Wait then... Another with such markings? Well, that all but confirmed things, didn't it? Not that he would jump to conclusions just yet, but he'd warned Xantir about Aveshar... Was that who Tyzaeph meant when he talked of another with these markings? It had to be, Ballad knew of no other child of his that had come to this land yet... Sure enough the others would be along sooner or later, but only he was here already. "Could you.. Possibly tell me more of this other you have seen?" He inquired. It wouldn't do to get his hopes up just yet.. He had to focus on facts...

Ty watched the stallion for a long moment, reading the rush of emotions across his face. Apparently this mare was painfully important to him. Hadn't his human spoken about this mare...Whistle? That was it... She was about with Kassie best friend. Hanging around the glade where they all lived.
"Whistle? Is that her? The lady you seek."
The other with his markings? He'd rather not even think about the Kalona who made them all nervous, but he wanted to help this stranger, so he'd share with his what he knew.
"Well, he's pure evil. So much hate in one stallion. His coat is pitch black, and his markings are just like yours... His name is Aveshar."

With a dancer's light steps, Ballad shifted on his night-black hooves, lifting them and placing them down again in the exact same place, slowly deepening the hoofprints in the rich dirt. Without stone underfoot there was no soft chime with each step, merely a muffled 'thump', if there was sound at all. He was more than capable of walking silently, but the slightly nervous lifting of his hooves was a mostly unconscious fidget. Could she really be here? Was he really so close to finding her? The skin over his withers twitched, muscles sliding as though he'd been fly-stung. With a soft snort he shook himself from nose to short tail, silver-streaked mane tumbling and frothing around him like black waves. Quelling the urge of his muscles, his head jerked as if struck, staring at the other stallion. So then, he knew her name? It must be his love, though whether or not she was still here... "Yes, the name of my Lady is Whistle." He replied when the shock had worn off enough for him to speak. "Though her memory is no doubt fractured.. There was a great upheaval in our home, and when all had settled, she was lost." He pawed with one foreleg, destroying the deep imprint of that hoof and leaving a furrow in its place. He dreaded the words even as he had expected them. Of course, of course. Aveshar would be here, and the Fayth knew what trouble the Kalona was brewing. Ballad sighed, nodding his head in acceptance, silver eyes dimming. "Yes... Aveshar is well-known to me."

The stallion smiled, nodding to himself more than anything. This was good, he knew exactly where they were. And, he could take the Stallion to her directly if he wished.
"Whistle lives near my Kawani's home, with a friend of hers, named Tashika. I can lead you that way if you wish. Its just there, over the ridge." He nodded his head to the west. "You can follow the river there, actually... Its not to far down stream from here."

Instantly Ballad stopped his light dancing, his nervous shifts and energetic steps. The electricity racing through him seemed to pause as he did, letting the stallion's words sink in. Tyzaeph knew exactly who Whistle was, knew where she was, knew that she was safe and well and in good company. He shifted one hind leg slightly, the sight splay to his stance ensuring he wouldn't just tumble straight off his hooves like a newborn foal. Because that would be quite impressive, wouldn't it? Turning his head to follow Tyzaeph's gesture, Ballad kept one ear perked in the stallion's direction, drinking in his words. Shifting on his hooves, he offered a faint smile and a bow of his head. "I thank you for your offer, and your information.. If you don't mind, I think I'll just follow the river to her... I wouldn't want to take up any more of your time." Drifting a stride or two away, he turned away and then hesitated. "Thank you, Tyzaeph. I hope our paths cross again soon." Moving toward the river, he smiled faintly to himself and then tossed a final glance over his shoulder. "Be well until we meet again, My Friend."
