It had been far too long since they were together.. Not he and Firefly, though that was part of it.. But the rest of his children, Dafina and Ferraro.. And their families... Children? The children of those children? Sibalto didn't even know how far his family went, but they were all too far away, that was a sure thing. So he gathered his son and grandson, and moved to change things the only way they could. Everyone who could attend was going to have a family reunion, of a sort... He'd heard of the thing -a reason for celebration amongst the humans- from two-leggers.. And had decided there was no reason that his family couldn't all reunite.. He wanted to see who had grown, and fallen in love, and had foals... Sibalto smiled at the idea of gangly-legged grandfoals, like Ashrialto had been.. A unique little twist to the family genetics, Ash.. But then, Imri had fallen for a star. Athena, an Alicorn, a surprise indeed to the groundwalking clan.. But a welcome one. Sibalto was pleased his son was so in love and happy, and could only wish the rest of his family had the same luck as he and Imrikalto had. "Come along then." He murmured to the two stallions trailing after him as they wound along the forest paths. "It isn't too far away now... And you certainly don't want Firefly scolding us for being late..."
"Ma scolds you?" The darkly-dappled stallion sounded far too amused by this as he shot a smile to his own son, laughing when his sire snorted in reply. Of course Sibalto wouldn't dignify that with a response, not like it needed one. The idea was more then enough to have Imri and Ash making jokes the whole way to the gathering, and as he considered his sire's flicking tail, Imri had to take a guess that was the last thing Sibalto wanted them laughing at when they were reunited with all their kin. "I'll have to ask her about that, when we arrive perhaps?" He offered because he couldn't help a little bit of mischief. After all, life would be horribly dull without a little spice of trouble and whatnot... And Imri like a bit of adventure. Life had been a little too quiet as of late, so this gathering was just the ticket. It would be good to see his mother again, and his sister and her charming stallion. Imri liked Ramus, he had a good heart. It would be nice to talk to him again..
"Grandmother is more then capable of scolding everyone." Ashrialto smiled. "Careful you do not get yourself in trouble also, father..." Not that he would have minded watching grandmother Firefly scold his father and grandsire.. The idea was amusing enough he was also snickering to himself, though it probably wasn't the wisest thing.. But Sibalto enjoyed a joke as much as the rest of them, and he had to know they meant him no ill-will with their teasing. Ash was looking forward to this meeting as well. He hadn't gotten the chance to meet his Aunt and Uncle, nor the ones they had started their own families with and the families that resulted. His sire had mentioned once that Ramus -his aunt Dafina's mate- was a good-hearted Soquili.. But the others really were a mystery. And while Ash loved a good mystery, one's family was definitely one worth solving sooner rather then later. And seeing as he was the youngest, it was his job to ask the obligatory question. "Grandsire.. Are we there yet?"

A family reunion. That was certainly an exciting idea to say the least. While Firefly did keep in touch with most of her family line there were still a few stragglers here and there. Of course though, who wouldn't mind catching up with the others she was more familiar with anyway? It was a nice opportunity for the eldest and the youngest to gather and just shoot the breeze. It had just been too long since any gathering of their family, large or small, had happened. And now seemed like a pretty good time.
She had found a fairly large clearing in the forest for them all to gather in. Not sure of who would show up, the older mare decided it was best to over estimate size than under estimate it. Everyone would be standing with their noses in each others butts if it were too small, she was sure.
Having found a nice, soft spot of grass she'd lain down. Her long, two-toned tail curled around her backside as she watched those who were already there with dark red eyes. A soft smile curving her dark lips. Though her thoughts were more on when he mate and her son's would arrive. She'd already gathered Dafina and her line mostly.
The dappled mare sat close to her mother, eyeing the clearing casually. She'd done a pretty good job scoping this place out for sure. There'd be more than enough room and quite a bit of grass and leaves incase anyone got hungry. Flicking a single ear, she glanced over at Firefly. "Wonder how much longer till someone else gets here. I think Jarda is getting impatient." She motioned towards the little colt who was standing alert and attentive near the edge of the clearing. Chuckling lightly as he jumped and sniffed at every sound.
Darma had also taken a position near her mother and grandmother. Chocolate eyes watching her young son warmly. A soft giggle escaping her lips every now and again at his antics. "Oh, let him be mama. He's still explorin' and everything is still so new to him." The feathers tucked behind her ear twitched as her own ears swivled this way and that. Trying to pick up on any sounds of others approaching.
She was a bit excited to say the least. She'd get to see her grandpa, uncle and counsin at least today. And not to mention show off the newest addition to the family to everyone.
Barely having been out of his basket, Jarda stood near the edge of the clearing. Ears perked forward, tail held high as he listened closely for the sound of hooves. He leaned forward a bit, nearly toppling forward. Purple eyes scanning the darkened trees. Squinting as he tried to make out any shapes.
The faint sound of hoof beats drawing closer caught his attention and he snapped his head high in alert. "SOMEONES COMING SOMEONES COMING!! MAMAMAMAMAMAMAMA!!" Turning quickling on his thin legs, he nearly tripped over his own hooves as he raced over to his mother. Ducking behind her for safety before peeping his head up just enough so that he could peer at however it was that was heading their way.

Ramus had managed to gather up Dafius, Nightfly and even his father Raum . though he had failed to get his grandfather Rahu to come, specially after getting kicked around by him and told that he would meet Ramus' new grand kids another time when there wasn't a huge crowd. glancing back, it seemed his father and granddaughter where lagging while himself and Dafius where taking the lead. "Come on you slow pokes." snorting, he wanted to make sure that they where not the last to arrive to this family thing.
Raum rolled his eyes at his own son, trying to tell him to hurry up. "calm down Ramus, we will get their soon enough." grunting, he had not met much of the family of his son's mate which was why he was taking this opportunity to meet them and his new great grandchildren. giving a toss of his mane, he picked up his pace a little after nudging Nightfly to follow. "lets get moving or we will have Ramus pestering us to no end." chuckling, he was surpised Nightfly bothered to walk with them when she could of flown there with ease. Nightfly gave her great grandfather a good shove before picking up her pace to match her great grandfather's. "ok great grandpa." ruffling her wings a bit as they caught up to Ramus and her mother Dafius, she then grumbled to her mother. " how much longer? i would of been there by now if you would of let me gone ahead by flying." Dafius chuckled, and glanced over at her daughter. " we will be there soon. and dad needs to stop being impatient like you Nightfly." shaking her head, she was amused but happy they where all together and going to meet up with the rest of the family. oh was this family reunion going to be some fun and she couldn't wait to see her sister's kids.

Sibalto smiled softly at the distant sound of a colt's alert to his dam, ears perking as his stride increased. Had to be Firefly and Dafina, and grandfoals... He missed having foals cavorting about, darting under his belly and begging him to play tag. The thought made him shoot a glance at Imri, then Ash. Imri was happily lifemated, perhaps soon enough Ash would have siblings... More grandfoals for Sibalto to dote on... "We're close."
"Don't think I don't see that look." Imrikalto grumbled as he watched Sibalto jerk his eyes forward and tried not to laugh aloud. Not that he could hide the smile that curled across his muzzle, because Imri could see that all too clearly. "Father."
"Son?" The stallion rumbled after a moment, blinking one dark gray eye over his shoulder as he tossed a questioning look back. "Something wrong?"
"You were giving 'the look' again.." Imri accused. "I hate it when you do that.."
"I assure you son, I have no notion of what look you're speaking of." Sibalto replied almost gleefully, tail swishing as he dove into a tangle of trees and entered the clearing. "Hello my beautiful family."
Ashrialto laughed softly to himself as he trailed behind his now-muttering sire, now and again catching an irritated word or phrase. He chose to pretend as though he heard nothing, humming softly as his tail flickered back and forth, the sound of his hooves muffled by thick grass and fallen leaves and needles. "It will be good to see Grandmother Firefly..." He offered in a moment of silence, tail flicking faster. "And meet any cousins... Perhaps there are a few of my age who I can wander with now and again.. And didn't you say it would be nice to see Uncle Ramus again?
"Aye, I did..." Imrikalto agreed. "And it will, so long as father refrains from saying what he's thinking..."

Firefly quickly stood as the large, dapple stallion that held her heart in his hooves dove into the clearing. A clear smile of utter joy parting her dark lips as she raced over to him. Nipping at the soft skin beneath his chin and jaw line before nuzzling her nose against his neck. Her long tail swishing happily.
Perhaps it was the excitement in the air, but she sure felt extatic to see him. It had seemed way too long since their last meeting. "Hello my handsome stallion." She cooed softly.
Dafina stood as well. Smiling happily at her parents before her attention was quickly drawn to the sound of bickering coming from the opposite direction. Sounded like her family was well on its way here. Turning her head in their direction she grinned. "Hurry up you slow pokes!"
Turning her attention back to the others, she gave a small nod to Imri as he and what she could assume was his son soon followed suit of her sire. It had been quite a long time since she'd seen Imri. Apparently he had run off with a 'lady of the stars' as mother put it. Although mother never did quite approve of any mare that thought she was good enough for the boys in her lines. Whatever floated her boat though.
Darma also stood. A wide, goofy grin coming across her maw as she flicked her ears back and forth. New people she hadn't met had just arrived. And from the sounds that were coming towards them daddy n' Dafi n' Flyfly were going to be there soon. The excitement was almost too much for her to bare as her small body started to shake lightly.
"HURRAY!" Was all she could get out as her smile widened. Wide enough to cause her eyes to close at the same time.
Squeaking as his mother stood up, relinquishing him of his hiding spot. Jarda strutted over to the other stallions. Giving them all a good sizing up and puffing out is chest. Purple eyes staring up at them curiously as he gave a little snort. His short tail flicking indignantly. "Hm hm, who'er you?"

NightFly rolled her eyes and took off at a way faster pace to get to where they where going faster. just she didn't realize just how close they where to the destination. one minute she was still on the trail they had been following, and the next she was skidding to a hault with wings flared cause she had not thought that the clearing had been so close. wrinkling her muzzle, she looked back to glare at the slow pokes who where now laughing as they came up shortly after her little dramatic entrance.
Dafius could only laugh and then grin at her daughter. "see i told you to stop being impatient!" giving a toss of her mane, she was quick to nudge her daughter and make her way towards her dear sister since she waned to catch up with her.
Ramus was quiet amused with what NightFly ended up doing and couldn't help but join in his daughter's laughter even if he was receiving the death glare from his granddaughter. leaving his daughter and granddaughter to go chat with Darma, he went straight for where his loving mate was with a huge grin on his face.
Raum stuck more back from the others since he honestly, didn't know who everyone was except for a few. giving a grunt, he decided he would follow his son and allow him to introduce him to those he didn't know. then again crowds where so not his thing, but he could not object to meeting others who where part of his family.

Sibalto gave another pleased whinny of greeting at the sight of the dark mare darting toward him, rearing playfully as he pranced to meet her. As she nipped at his jaw he snapped his teeth playfully at a lock of her mane, rumbling in a pleased manner as she tucked herself against his neck. "Hello my glorious lady." He crooned as he curled around her. "I'm so glad to see you." He shot Dafina a welcoming smile and a grin, eyes moving to the new arrivals as they entered. The family was growing strong and beautiful, he knew no greater joy then that.
Imrikalto grinned and paced further into the clearing, moving to greet his sister with a gentle nuzzle to her cheek. "Hey sis." He grinned with a roguish twinkle in his dark eyes. "You look wonderful. Guess that stallion of yours is taking good care of you." The last he said as Ramus moved toward them, bowing his head in greeting to the other stallion. "Hello again, Ramus. How have you been?" A brief glance flickered to the somewhat hesitant stallion who was moving toward them, followed by another short bow. "Greetings, I am Imrikalto."
It was nice to see all these relatives gathering, some he hadn't seen since foalhood and others he'd not ever met. Pale eyes gleamed in the dark of his face as he considered all the naturally hued pelts, the beauty of his family making him straighten with pride to be part of this magnificent herd. The little winged imp who dove into the clearing caught his attention for a moment, before something a little closer demanded his attention. Ashrialto blinked as the younger male stalked over to him, eyes widening in the challenging inquiry that made him want to smile in spite of himself. "I'm Ashrialto, son of Imrikalto and Athena... Who are you?" He tilted his head slightly, leonine tail lashing back and forth with careless flicks.
