More tangled vines, close trees, treacherously growing shrubs and brush. The living song known as Ballad laid his ears flat and continued on through the less-then-passable forest, silver eyes gleaming with determination. There was no painted figure winding through the trees at his side, no glimpse of indigo and light... No laughing cyan eyes. No Whistle. However, a break in the trees ahead. Hope for open air and no more pressing darkness that bore the weight of a thousand pairs of eyes. "Ahh, finally, an end in sight." A few prancing strides and a last leap over the final tangled hedge had him standing in hock-high emerald grass and the first clear glimpse of sunlight he'd had in some time. With a stretch Ballad basked in the light for a moment, the presence of the sun rendering his glow to just a minor gleam, if any would notice it at all. Not that there was anyone around to notice... "An interesting landscape..." Ballad mused to himself as he left the close shadow of the forest for the open freedom of a field, his pace an easy walk. Short tail flicking, the stallion paused to glance here and there, seeing no one to whom he could address his questions. Well, this wouldn't do at all... He'd met one kind enough stallion in his travels within this land, though Xantir had not been able to offer more then the promise for future aid should he spy the indigo mare Ballad sought. "Best to continue then." He murmured, picking up a trot now that there was room for him to move without effort. He needed to find someone to talk to in this place, someone to help him find his love.

"Dude, you know if you keep talking to yourself people are doing to think you are loosing your marbles." Chuckled a brightly coloured male, as he looked down onto the clearing were another had come. Wakka was not shy, even more so he was not a man to let anyone just walk past him, any opportunity to socialise and make a new friend was something he would take. Even if this person was a glowing, strange stallion who talked to himself. He was quite handsome if he could say so himself. Then again the glowing markings were sure to catch the eye of a stallion like Wakka. One that appreciated beauty. He wondered over to the male with a big smile on his face, his pure black shiny eyes scanning ever inch of him, not in a threatening way more checking him out. He soon came to stand by him. No sense of personal space or in fact the phrase, never talk to strangers.
"Come on now. What's up buddy?" He asked flicking his wild and boyish mane. Now Wakka was far from a smart soquili, he was not the brightest crayon in the set, he was not the sharpest tool in the kit. However he did know people. Talking to yourself meant three things. One that you were stressed beyond belief, two that you were confused and did not know what you were doing or three the more common reason, your heart has been pulled through a field of knives. He looked to the sky and chuckled, humming a tune that was in his head and almost dancing on the spot. Before looking into the eyes of the male, Wakka was one with extremely good eye contact, when you were in his sights. There was no escape from the over confident male.

Ballad frowned, brows sinking as he glanced around for the source of the yet-unknown voice. Ahh there. A dark-eyed stallion with shocking markings and hair was addressing him -he was the only one who could be 'dude' after all- about talking to himself. He blinked in surprise when the stallion stepped fully into view, moving right to him and standing -just a little- closer then was necessary when making introductions. Not that this odd stallion was making introductions... In fact, he didn't say who he was at all.. He simply eyed Ballad in a way that made the stallion cant his head to one side and blink in bewilderment, and then asked what was up. Up? Buddy? Well, this stranger certainly was a little strange, from markings to attitude.. But at least he was pleasant. "Ballad." He answered after a moment. "My name is Ballad, not Buddy... And I have not lost any marbles, nor anything else, except for the one creature I hold most dear in this life.. But that was less of losing and more of her wandering, and a great accident..." He shook his head, cutting off the words before more could spill out. It was horrible, the loss of his mate... And to think she was wandering and did not know him, did not know their family.. It broke his heart into smaller pieces then the ones that resulted from being torn away from her. The fact that this -strange- stranger was still standing so close unnerved him slightly, it had been some time since he'd been close to anyone... And even then, they'd been his family. The sudden eye contact made him flick a near, then shrug faintly. Might as well talk to him. "As I said, I'm Ballad... I seek an indigo-coated mare by the name of Whistle, my mate... She is lost and I believe remembers nothing of her former life..." Glowing silver eyes were sad, but determined. "I seek her to remind her of it."

"My name is Wakka Wakka darling, well in fact for some reason the Wakka's go on and on forever, tis a song you see that people sing, so in my old land this girl I used to hang with called me, Wakka-Wakka-Wakka-Wakka-Wakka-Wakka-. However for the sane folk, Wakka is my name or any of the complementary terms, Handsome, Buddy, Sexy take your pick!" He smiled, his name was not really Wakka, his real name was a secrete so his family could not track him down, why was he called Wakka? well the little red familiar that was hunting him down... its the noise it made when it was near, the noise that triggered something in Wakka to run for his life. The little red familiar was possessed it had chased him since childhood and he could not escape it. Until the day he died he would be running. It wanted to kill him he was sure... however moving onto happier topics and forgetting the homicidal animal that wanted to eat him, his attention went back to the male.
"Aww, bigs, that's awful. However its the only good love story I have come across in a while and I am going to get you your happy ending god damn it! I want in on this story!" He stamped his hoof on the floor, a determined fire burning in black eyes. Wakka was a sucker for a sad story, more so he was a sucker for love stories. So this was just the kind of thing to get him pumped and motivated. He was playing through a scene of this handsome stallion and a wonderful mare, leaping towards each other in a field of flowers. Yea. He was going to make it happen you know he was he was he was! "Ballad it is then!" he smiled and nodded ruffling the stallions fringe with a cute puppy like expression before he trotted forward, looking back with a huge smile. "TO THE HUNT! We can not keep a pretty women waiting now can we, what kind of hero's would we be!" That was it, he counted him and his companion of the stories hero's. There was no getting rid of him now...

Ballad blinked, silently bewildered. Sure enough, there were those in his homeland who acted like this -to an extent- but this one.. This Wakka Wakka, well, he took things to a bit of a different level. He was... odd... Immediately one could see he was a good soul, of course, but he was still odd. The Fayth stallion shifted awkwardly. Darling? "Nice enough to meet you then, Wakka." He offered after a moment of silence, not wishing to be rude. Bigs? A good love story? He supposed it was the stuff of tales the humans often spun, though he rarely paid attention to things like that. This was his life, not a story. And there was no guarantee -beyond his determination- that there would be a happy ending.. Not that he'd accept anything less. He would find his love, and they would be happy... Just like they had been. This stranger's dedication to his task was... different. Touching? Heartening? Whatever the word for it, Ballad managed a smile at the adamant hoof stamping and the gleaming black eyes. Heros? "Not very good ones, I suppose." He replied as he trailed after the other stallion, amused and a little puzzled, but intrigued. He.. Rather liked this odd-duck of a stallion who called himself Wakka. How bad could a stallion who was adamant about happy endings and being friends be? Especially when he wondered what kind of heros they were to keep ladies waiting. Still.. One question remained. "Where then, do you propose we begin?"

"Aww your so well spoken, well its nice to meet you too sparkles Ballad!" He smiled as he jumped around a little, being one who could not sit still, not even for a couple of seconds. He wondered for the moment as he spoke making a 'shush shush shush' sound until his nose was touching the males. "We ARE good hero's, we are just at the end of our story yet, no one gives the shining knights credit until they see results you know?" He stated the smile on his face getting bigger and bigger until it almost looked like it could fall off of his face.
Wakka then stood back. "I can not tell you. You see." He stated before his nose moved down the stallion until it was at his chest. "This is the only thing that can tell us were to go. Think hard. Were do YOU want to go?" He asked, his logic made perfect sense to him, Wakka was not a male who thought everything in life was good, he did not believe in fairy tales and he was far from childish, however what he did believe in was love. It was the force that made the world go around. It was the only magical thing he saw, the only thing he really believed in. Even though he had never found true love, to be honest he was looking too hard for it, he was sure it would come to him, to have that connection to a person was the most amazing thing, so much so if this stallion did love his women, their hearts would lead them to each other.

Brows drew together in a faint frown, silver eyes narrowing thoughtfully. He wouldn't react on Wakka's choice of nicknames, at least, not momentarily.. But that didn't stop him from filing away every 'buddy' and 'sparkles' the stallion might utter. His new friend would be a hyperactive flirt with no concept of personal space, wouldn't he? One ear tipped back, as he eyed Wakka. "You and your human words... Heros and Knights and stories..." A gentle snort. "You know that in such tales there are trials.. There are villains.. Horrors and dangers and the like. Do you recall this part of your glorious tales? Are you prepared to deal with such things?" And he knew there was such a creature out there.. The perfect villain, more then capable of sending little trials and tests to slow down Ballad's progress.. With enough influence to even arrange a minor -compared to himself- threat to this great 'quest' just for simple amusement... And perhaps the joy of an injury to the blue-coated stallion. "I do not blame you for wanting to turn back once you've realized there will be danger.. But I'd rather not have to wait until I am walking into the mouth of hell for you to decide thus.. So if you are faint-hearted, choose another path, I will not hold it against you..." His heart? His heart had gotten him this far, brought him to this land... But now he wasn't so sure.. She was here, he knew she was.. But where exactly was that?

Haha, Danger it was not something never left Wakka alone, he had a possessed familiar trying to kill him, a sister who was hunting him down wanting redemption through blood and never forgetting the amount of times people had threatened him through his own dumb doing. He had seen his fair share of danger. However he would not let anyone know that. After all. It was not a fun conversation nor was it something that people would find attractive. After all, it would ruin the care free and loving stallion aura if people knew how much he had to cope with in his life. Its why he changed his name, started again, it would slow down his family down looking for him, what was left of them anyways, he had no doubt most of them would be dead by now. All he thought would have survived was that sister of his, which was bad news for him. She saw his leaving as a betrayal to their herd and saw him as a traitor of the highest standards, he had no doubt when she found him she would try and kill him. He smiled and flicked his name nodding his head.
"Yes! I am sure I can cope! If they are not overwhelmed like my stunning good lucks, I am sure my innocent eyes would make there soul melt, anyways what danger would come from a simple treasure hunt? all we have to do is find the girl, and I doubt she will have any captures or kidnappers, that is unless you have not told me everything my friend?" He chuckled as he spun around looking at the path ahead. "Well every journey begins with a single step and this is ares!" He stated as he jumped forward dramatically, before he started to trot down the path, looking back to see if the magical looking stallion was following him.

Ballad considered the other as his words tapered off, eyes narrowing faintly, then widening as he watched the other consider his words. He didn't want to drive off an ally, it would do his quest no good, afterall... But he didn't want to drag some helpless innocent into the center of the family feud from hell and a far off land. He wouldn't do that. When he found his mate, he knew Whistle would never forgive him for such a thing. But this Wakka, he wasn't exactly being dragged, now was he? If anything, he'd invited himself along and that was the end of it. Ballad frowned. He wasn't used to such behavior. The boundless enthusiasm and no personal space issue nonwithstanding, he'd never have someone act this way. He was used to giving orders or 'suggestions' and having them followed. Had always been a leader and the one that was looked up to... He could barely remember being young and free-spirited like this Wakka seemed to be. "The one I have in mind would not be overwhelmed by your stunning good looks." He smiled faintly, amused by the other stallion's antics though he was trying not to be. "And he most certainly doesn't have a soul, at least not one your innocent eyes would melt." A shake of his head. "The tales involving treasure are usually the bloodiest, Wakka. She's a little bit of both, my Lady, and it will please some to no end to keep her from me, at any cost... If you want to tag along, feel free..." Hadn't told him everything? "There is a Kalona who will most likely get in the way, and he is not the kind you want mad at you..." He was following damn him... And even hoping that the admission wouldn't chase Wakka off. It was, good, to have a friend. Friend? They'd just met... And yet, he was a friend, in his odd way.

"Haha Kalona, the mares are passionate at night, but will sure give you a good bite if you are still their in the morning!" He joked, thinking about what he said. This must be some women if people would actually stop her mate from being with his, this story seemed to have more twists and turns than he could count, which was proberbly why he wanted to be apart of it so much, the reason why he was being drawn into it with every new revalation. "If you need me I will not let you down." He stated, in a calmer voice, proberbly the only serious thing the sparkly glowy stallion dude was going to get out of him. He was then twittering to himself, humming random tunes which came into his head as he walked onwards with his companion.
"So come on then, I know the villian however what are his motives? why would such a thing have such a passion to seperate you from your lovely lady? jelousy? revenge? or just pure and plain being a wanker?" He asked raising his eyebrows. There were many ways that made someone drift to the ways of evil. He had been tempted by emotions himself. Mainly the one to take care of himself, self loving? was that was it was called? more like the drive to live, to be number one. It was something that he was born with, the passion to survive even if it meant someone else would not, he was far from a hero, however he would help people if they needed it, especially if it meant making a friend and also taking part in something he was intereasted in.

Ballad considered the stallion, wanting to yet again inquire as to the status of his mental health and now a dozen other things... Clearly this stallion was unstable.. Spending a night with a Kalona mare? Most assuredly they'd bite in the morning.. He snorted. Most assuredly they'd bite one in the night too... Not the kind of lady that Ballad wanted to be tangled with, not for any length of time. And as he considered Wakka Wakka and his words and way, the Fayth came to a sudden conclusion. Wakka was hiding something, or from something or someone.. But this most certainly wasn't all the stallion was. Not that Ballad thought Wakka was outright lying... After all, there was every chance these were honest aspects of his personality... Quirks and mannerisms that were true to him... But Ballad knew that just as this might be truth, it was a lie... The stallion was just, more, than this... "I would know nothing of the passion of Kalona mares, at night or otherwise." He replied in a rumble with a flick of his tail. "There has only ever been one mare I am interested in, and she is missing..." The oath made him tilt his head, ears flicking thoughtfully. Gleaming silver eyes narrowed for a moment, and then he nodded. "Very well, I welcome and greatly appreciate your assistance on this quest then, Wakka.." The humming as they began walking was somewhat amusing, being as Ballad himself was a living song. Such a thing was hard to explain, but he felt music in his blood and bones, music that recognized a dark chord somewhere in the land. Aveshar. "Motives?" Ballad snorted. "He is a Kalona. They are an evil, sadistic species that delight in the torture of 'lesser' beings... What other motive might he need? He has always hated me -much more than my Lady or my other children, except for perhaps one- and probably always will..." Their hoofbeats continued in silence for a moment as Ballad considered the different options -motives- Wakka threw at him. "It will cause us pain, which he always enjoys... It is a weakness for us both, which I am sure he hopes to exploit... I do not think he is jealous, per say... Revenge? I suppose, if you think he would want revenge on us simply for existing and being joyous..." Ballad snorted, shaking from nose to tail to banish the ill-mannered thoughts. He continued pacing along, eyes searching the woods as he considered the question his friend had asked. They were from a different place, once wore different forms, that much he remembered.. Not that he knew why they were in this world, in this shape, in this situation. But he would find Whistle, and everything would be fine... He knew his family would find them, given time.. His children would appear and they would make the best of this new land... "And you?" He queried. "What is your story? Do you have a lady, or do you seek one? Or are there just many you entertain until they attempt to 'give you a good bite' if you're still in their presence come morning?"

"Aww come on not everyone is evil, besides skinwalkers. You know, they are just a little dangerous get over the fear and my friend you are dominant of the mare." he winked giving a small chuckle. He continued to walk, one playful and energetic step after the other. He tilted his head at his question, did he have a lady. He just let out a small laugh "Well. I live for the moment my dear friend, you can fall in and out of love in a second you know. So I just do what my heart wants at that time, I am far too young to be tied down yet. If I ever am, I guess only time can tell you know." He stated nodding, he must really not like kalona, he knew that everyone had a motive for pretty much everything they did, however one thing he said stuck out to the brightly coloured stallion.
"So he has been bothering you for a while then? That must suck. So any idea were said kalona would be?" he asked tilting his head.

'Not everyone is evil, besides skinwalkers...' Ballad snorted softly, considering his new friend's words. The scent of rain was on the wind as they paced through the woods, the soft sound of hooves on grass and rich forest soil mixed with the sighing branches and distant birdsong. It was peaceful, for the moment, as they paced along. Ballad doubted it would last, such things rarely did, but for the moment he enjoyed it. "Live for the moment, hmm?" He echoed with a twitch of his ears, considering Wakka's words. How he replied could have been quite telling, though Ballad didn't really know too much of the stallion to begin with. If he did, he might have understood what the stallion was and wasn't saying. As it stood, he simply had the feeling that there were things in the other's past he wasn't keen on sharing. And that was alright, the Fayth knew what that was like. "I do not know about falling in and out of love in a second, sorry." He gave a faint smile. "The lady who holds my heart took more than a second to claim it, and as any stallion can be, I was almost too thickheaded to notice..." He sighed. "I almost lost her then, as I seem to have lost her now." Sorrow flickered in his silver eyes. He had to find Whistle, had to. She was his life and breath now, had been so since he had realized that she might be gone, that he might not get her back. But he had, and they'd started and raised a beautiful family together, and now she was lost again. To shake himself from his reverie, Ballad snorted and tossed his head, banishing the old ghosts for a few moment. Time for all that later. "It would do you good to be 'tied down' my friend, at least, that is what I think. But only time can tell, and we shall have to see." Aveshar, bothering him for awhile? "Since the day he was born he has been trouble, in one form or another." Ballad sighed, short tail lashing back and forth. "And yes, I do have a faint idea where he is in this land. Not far enough away to allow me to relax, not close enough that I worry, yet."

"Maybe falling in and out of love is easier, that way you do not loose your women so often. It shows you are determined, must be some girl. Which is why I am curious and interested to come with you. Besides the fact you seem like a nice stallion! lets go find your princess. Sparkles." The stallion nodded. Flicking his name and looking over at the other stallion. "I do not, a tames spirit is no spirit at all. It will be a while before I am whipped my friend!"
"Since the day he was born, ha what are you his father? those directions are not really specific I was hoping for a place! Oh well we can run with it, longer it takes the more time we are travelling buddies you know. Just go where your heart tells you and I will follow and make conversation!" He nodded. Trotting a little, hips wagging side to side before giving the stallion a playful nudge.
The colourful male then darted forwards. With playful laughter before rolling around in someflowers. "HAHA THIS IS WHAT WE NEED, YOU CAN NOT FIND YOUR LADY UNLESS YOU HAVE SOME FLOWERS TO GIVE HER YOU KNOW!" He added grabbed a load in his mouth. Taking them back over to sparkles, his tail basically wagging like a happy dog.

"Only twice." He murmured. "Two times too many, but still only two times. And the first she was hunted by another, a dark female that eventually came to death. It is not she who caused this trouble, this time was different... I hope that once I find her, it will be the last of our challenges. We have had enough to last us several lifetimes, though the good still far outweighs the bad." Flicking his short tail, he chuckled. "She is indeed some Lady, yes. And if you wish to accompany me, I suppose you may. You too seem nice enough, even if your nicknames and manners are quite strange to me." Ballad chuckled. "Some mares may tame and break you, but love of the true kind, sets you free. Still, about this I will not argue with you, you know best I suppose." Setting out, he nodded. "Aye, that I am. The Dark One was never really one I could call son, but for the truth of the matter that he is. And it is my every intention to keep everyone I can away from him, so don't worry much about that. It is my Lady that we seek, no other." The upbeat nature of the other stallion made him grin, trotting to keep pace. The sudden action and rolling made him pause, shaking his head. "You truly are an odd one. How do you not have females chasing you all over this earth, if you know such things?" He canted his head. "I suppose I should take those, though it might be fun to make you talk around them."
