Tyzaeph gave a low huff, stopping in the clearing where they were set to meet. He and Delphy were early, and that was his fault. He was nervous, scared that his son would hate him for leaving. He didn't mean to be like his father, but... He'd gone and done it anyway. Leaving him behind. He loved his kids more than anything, and leaving Orion and Echo behind had nearly killed him. He was a coward, plain and simple, and he had to live with not seeing his son grow up for the rest of his life. But that didn't mean he could try and make things better now. Especially when he'd heard he was a grandfather...

The Alicorn folded his wings to his sides, smiling softly at his daughter. Her lack of a relationship with her mother was his fault too. But he would hack off his left wing before he didn't make it right now.

Delphina was upset. Her father felt awful about leaving her mother, be she knew he had his reasons. She fluttered her wings, moving to stand next to her father. She wondered how her brother was...How Mom was... She'd been the one to hear about Orion's kids. How dad had gotten a hold of her mother to meet them here was beyond her, but she wanted to see them. To meet her niece and nephew, to meet his mate...

Delphy wondered what the female was like. Was she treating Orion well? What about their kids? Delphy knew her brother was a good male, and she knew he'd pick the right female. She leaned against her father briefly, need his support as much as he needed hers. What would her mother say? Would they both hate them for leaving? The female sure hoped not...She missed them.

Heavy footsteps announced the mare's arrival long before she was ready to face the one half of her family that she'd not seen for the longest time. How would Tyzaeph react when he saw her? For that matter how would her daughter? The roundness of her stomach could not be hidden and Echo's Song was constantly glancing over her shoulder convinced that Dradneos would be right behind her. The dark stallion was the reason behind her current state and it still seemed that once she let her guard down he'd be right there.

Shaking her head and tossing her mane Echo grimaced. This day was too long in coming and the mare did not want it to be ruined. She'd have to deal with Drad at a later time. Her gaze took in the horizon and the two figures that dotted it. Was she late? Oh well ... not much she could do about that. She glanced once more behind her before letting a genuine smile appear. The reunion she had longed for was just minutes away. Her pace increased by a small amount as she crested the slope that separated her from her daughter ... and Tyzaeph.

Ty's ears perked at the footfalls. Which of them was it? His eyes trained on the opening, waiting intently for whoever it was. Delphy's gasp of 'Momma' was all the conformation he needed. It was Echo, and boy was it good to see her...Pregnant? Well... That was a bit of a shock to the Stallion, who smiled widely a second later. Good...Hopefully this meant she was happy.

Ty tilted his head, wondering to himself where her mate was. When she was carrying Delphy and Orion, he hardly let her out of his sight... Shrugging, because it wasn't his business anymore, Ty called out to her. "Echo!"

Delphy face lit up when her mother entered the clearing, and she all but bolted to her mother the second she could. "Momma!" She skidded to a stop, eyes wide for a moment. "Momma... Your pregnant?" The mare was stunned, but happy at the same time. Brothers and Sisters! Hopefully she was going to get to see more of them than her older brother. Nuzzling her mother, Delphy have a happy sigh. Finally she was back with her... "Momma...I missed you...Are you okay? Hows Orion?"
PostPosted: Wed Mar 17, 2010 7:17 pm

Echo's Song gave one last fleeting look over her shoulders before allowing the thought that perhaps Drad wouldn't find out about this reunion. She had longed for this day and even though she was once again with foal the joy that spread across her face was genuine. Here was her daughter - looking healthy as ever ... and Tyzaeph. While it had been a long time since she had last seen the stallion her heart still gave a weird little flutter at the sight of the alicorn.

Ty's call of greeting was lost in Delphina's cry of "momma" and it brought tears to Echo's eyes as she watched her daughter bolt towards her. This grown mare surely could not truly be her little one? However she knew without a doubt it truly was Delphina. As her daughter questioned the state she was in and nuzzled her Echo's gaze locked with Ty's. She quickly returned her attention to her daughter before chuckling.

"Ever the one with all the questions. I've missed you too dear. To answer your first question yes I'm expecting again. One day you'll have some half-siblings. I'm also very well. I've been wondering about you. As for your brother ... I haven't heard from him in a little while but I believe that he's still on his way here to meet up with everyone. You're an aunt now."

Echo moved slowly from Delphina's side and stepped towards Tyzaeph. "It's been a long time Ty. I'm glad to see you again."

Ty smiled warmly at the mare, dark eyebrow quirking when she glanced over her shoulder. Was she looking for someone? Perhaps it was Orion. He'd always care for her, she gave him his children, but he was glad she had moved on from him. He hoped this male was treating her right.

He followed behind Delphina at a slower pace, please as all hell that his daughter was so happy to see her mother, and Echo was just as happy to see her. He'd worried when he first spotted the mare, that Delphina would be upset about her mother being with foals, but her smile said it all. She was going to be a great big sister, and an even better aunt. "So I hear we're grandparents now..." The Alicorn rumbled, stopping short.

Delphina fought back the tears as she pressed her face in her mothers mane. Gods it was good to be near her again...She knew her father felt bad about separating them, and she wasn't mad, but there was no one like your mother...

"Who is he momma?" She gave a poignant look to her mothers belly. At the mention of being a sister AND an aunt, the mare gave a giggle. "I know momma, I'm so excited to meet them! What do they look like? What are they're names? I can't wait to meet them, and my new siblings..."

Echo's gaze continued to watch Tyzaeph. It was possible that she wasn't as discreet in her glances around as she'd like to be. She was acting almost like the "Little Mouse" that Dradneos called her - skittish and alert. The severity of the stallion's dark aura when they first met still had Echo trembling from time to time. How would he react if he knew?

Shaking that thought out from her mind Echo's Song let her tail swish to the side and listened to her daughter. The comment that Tyzaeph had made registered and Echo nodded swiftly.

"Grandparents indeed. It's definitely the strangest sensation. And to answer you Delphina I believe that your brother and his mate called their foals Lyrical Sky and Nightfall. Nightfall is your nephew and he is an alicorn like your father. Lyrical Sky is your niece and she takes after Orion and her mother Katell with the fact that she's a Uni."

Echo lowered her head briefly to the ground to grab a mouthful of grass as she contemplated when exactly Orion and his family would wander in.

Ty puffed up, preening when she spoke. His grandson was an Alicorn? Well, stars be damned this was the best news he'd heard in a long time.He couldn't wait to share with the boy his history of great wings and Alicorns he came from. Ty preened more at the mention of his granddaughter being a Unicorn...She came from a great Unicorn line as well. He was already proud of the foals, and he hadn't even met them.

Ty chuckled. "Lyrical Sky and Nightfall... Wonderful. Absolutely wonderful..." Ty watched the ground female again, tilting his head. Boy she looked nervous, he hoped everything was okay. But it wasn't his business anymore.

Delphina nodded, grinning widely when her mother spoke and when her father preened. Daddly was so proud of both of them, no matter what they did, that when one of them had kids and a mate, she was stunned her father didn't burst. He was beaming with pride and that made Delphy very happy.

"That's so exciting...I can't wait to meet them Momma..."

This was becoming silly. Drad would not come for her. At least she hoped not. It would be a hard time for her trying to explain the scenario to Tyzaeph. The thought fled her mind as the mare turned her attention back to Delphina. Echo laughed softly and nuzzled her daughter once more. Her gaze caught on something in the distance and her eyes widened.

"Delphina. I believe your brother is on his way."

Echo continued to watch the figures in the distance that were getting closer.

Orion's Verse watched as his children cavorted freely on the trek. He couldn't blame them for being excited about this meeting. They were meeting their aunt and grandfather for the first time. He craned his neck around before his gaze settled on a trio of figures standing at the top of a hilly clearing.

"Nightfall, Lyrical. You may wish to look up at the top of the hill. I believe there are Soquili waiting for us."

Orion stopped beside his mate Katell and nuzzled her reassuringly. "It'll be alright."

Nightfall was so excited he could hardly contain it. They were having a real adventure! He was excited to meet all these other family members he had heard about. He ruffled his wings, and readied himself for a nice big leap. He and his sister had been playing all day, and he certainly wasn't tired yet. In fact, maybe he would challenge Lyrical to a race in a few moments. That seemed like a fun idea.
His father's voice drew him out of his happy bounding.

"Hm?" he looked around. 'Top of the hill,' his father had said. Oh!
Nightfall could see three Soquili standing close to each other. "That's them?!" he asked enthusiastically. He hadn't met too many others so far, so he had nothing but hope for this meeting. New family surely meant more fun.

Katell walked with her mate, also keeping an eye on their children. They seemed to be enjoying themselves. She was comfortable with the idea of meeting her new extended family. It would be a wonderful experience, she was sure. Not to mention, it would be good for Nightfall to meet someone with wings. Try as she or her mate might, she doubted they could fully understand such things as wings and flight.

He gaze followed her mate's when he spoke. Sure enough, there was a small group of new Soquili ahead of them.
She snorted lightly as she returned Orion's nuzzle. "Of course it will be alright. Family reunions are joyous occasions, after all," she said.

Echo's Song watched as the family of four moved closer to rendezvousing. Her heart swelled at the sight of her grandchildren and also the knowledge that Orion had done well in his choice for a partner. The mare was still unsure about how she felt about being with foal again but Dradneos had sworn that he'd be 'good to her.' Banishing the thought that perhaps it was all a lie Echo stood more proudly beside Delphina. For now nothing could spoil this moment.

Orion's Verse snorted softly. Family reunion indeed. There was the odd chance that this meeting would have never been needed if his father hadn't left in the first place. This was not the right time for grudges to be aired though. Orion glanced towards Nightfall and chuckled softly. His son - ever the little ball of energy. His gaze took in Lyrical's motionless form as she thought about something and he shook his head. 'Ball of energy and the deep-thinker,' his children - and he was proud of both of them.

His hooves carried him nearer to the crest of the hill. Suddenly filled with restlessness Orion broke away from Katell and bolted to the top. He glanced back with a sheepish expression before turning to face his family.

Lyrical Sky glanced in the direction that her father had indicated. Her prancing motion stopped as she silently watched the three figures on the hillside. Two of them were her grandparents and one - her aunt. There was a spark of fear that flowed through the young filly's mind at meeting such important familial relations. Sky battled with her warring emotions. Part of her was glad to be meeting others that her father spoke about and the other part wanted to cower in fear. Her expression for once did not echo her brothers. She knew that Nightfall wanted this meeting - but now ... she was not so sure.

Ty stood next to Delphy, watching the family wander up to them. Pride swelled in the Alicorn's chest, watching them, his grand kids... Boy were they stunning. He couldn't wait to tell them all about his family.

The alicorn watched his son for a long moment. God, was that his boy? His chest constricted with pain, knowing he had a lot to answer for. He hoped they could put it behind them, because he wanted a relationship with him, and his kids. Ty made sure to beam at each of the children, and at his son's mate. Even if his son hated him, he was proud of everything he'd done with his life..."Orion..."

Delphy couldn't help the tears that sprang from her eyes at the sight of them cresting the hill. They were both beautiful...Her niece and nephew... And Orion. Her brother, and the one playmate she missed more than anyone.

Which is why she was the first of the three of them to break from the group to race to meet her brother. "Orion!" Nuzzling the unicorn because she couldn't find the words to say anything she was thinking. Shaking her head, Delphina lowered down to the level of her niece and nephew. "Hello there... I'm your aunt Delphy. I see you have some wings there..." She ruffled her own and grinned at him. "And you, beautiful young lady, a Uni... What are your names?"
PostPosted: Wed Mar 24, 2010 4:46 pm

Orion's grin grew as he took in his sister's mad dash - parallel to his own just a few minutes ago. His exuberant cry of "Delli!" matched her own as she neared him. Her scent wreathed around him as he returned her nuzzle before his father's soft calling of his name made his ears p***k forward. Stepping away from Delphina the stallion moved closer towards Tyzaeph. When he stood face to face with his dad he inclined his head in respect before speaking. "I know you did not mean to cause harm when you left mother and I. It was a long time before I came to figure out the reasons behind your actions. You were possibly scared. I understand this. However why did you not try to find us sooner?"

Orion's gaze softened briefly as he stepped to close the remaining distance between Tyzaeph and himself. His horn flashed in the sunlight as he extended his neck to nuzzle his father. In a quiet voice he murmurmed, "I missed you."

Lyrical Sky watched her father's motions with a bemused expression. Her dad was acting ... well like she and Nightfall did. Gazing to the mare that greeted her dad come closer to her and kneel down the filly stared in wonder. This was her aunt? The mare's wings were certainly pretty with the different hues of purple. The intense longing she'd had returned. It was unfair that Nightfall had wings. Quickly she covered her upset reaction before shyly peeking at her aunt's form again. Her voice was quiet as she replied. "Thank you. I'm Lyrical Sky."

Echo's Song took in the reunion in silence. Her heart was torn as her son finally found the courage and words he needed to say to Tyzaeph. A part of her was glad that her son harbored no ill feelings towards his father. The mare noticed that her son's mate was standing a bit to the side and she sighed softly. Walking slowly to the unicorn mare Echo felt every step jostle her rounded stomach. As she approached the mare she dipped her head. "Greetings. I don't think I've introduced myself. I am Echo's Song - Orion's mother."

Nightfall was stunned. He had been told he was meeting members of his family, even told that some of them had wings. But seeing them...that was another story. Of course, all of the adults looked big to the colt, but his were drawn to the pair with wings. He had never seen anyone else with wings, up close anyway. He almost couldn't help but stare. The male was huge in Night's eyes, the wings making him be all the bigger. Nightfall then watched the happy exchange the winged mare had with his father. They seemed very pleased to see each other.

As the winged mare turned toward him and his sister, Nightfall cocked his head to the side trying to get a good look at her. Her wings were bigger than his, and a lovely purple color. He grinned as she ruffled her she ruffled her wings, and without thinking lightly ruffled his. 'Aunt Delphy,' she had said. His mother had explained what an aunt was, but it was still exciting to me his.

Night waited till after his sister spoke to answer her question. "I'm Nightfall," he said proudly. He had a ton of questions to ask, but for once in his life, he didn't know which one should come first.

---

Katell smiled as her mate ran off ahead. She knew he was excited, anxious and...well, she could only imagine what he was feeling. He was seeing his family for the first time in a long while. She continued towards the gathering with her children, preparing to meet everyone.

As they neared, she Katell slowed, and stayed a bit off to the side. This was a family reunion, and though she was connect to all of them because of her children with Orion, she was still a bit on the outside. It did not bother her at all, she understood. It had been a while since they were together.

Her eyes took in the trio before them. The stallion was clearly Orion's father, and a stunning stallion he was. He seemed to be good and strong, like Orion was, and like she hoped her children would be.

She watched as the foals went closer to the others, and were greeted by a winged female. Orion's sister. She was pretty, and seemed to be kind. It looked as those the kids liked their first impression of their Aunt. Katell certainly did.

That left the final mare. A lovely ground Soquili, who Katell could see, was with foal. Orion's mother. Katell had not guessed she would be so beautiful, but she was certainly stunning.

As she watched the family, she saw Orion's mother move towards her. She dipped her head in response to the other mare. "And it is a pleasure to meet you. I am Katell." She snorted lightly and smiled, "It seems as though the reunion is going well."

Ty could only stare for a moment at his son, words failing him. He knew he would have to answer that question eventually, but hearing it shook him to the core. What could he say to him? He supposed the truth would be his best bet.

"I never meant to hurt you, or your mother son. Anything but... I felt that you both would be better off without me, and for that I am sorry. I was young, and scared, and I vow to do better in the future." That last question made him sigh. "I was scared you both would hate me for what I had done... But when I heard you had given your mother and I grandchildren... I had to take my chances. I had prepared myself for you both to hate me... And I'm glad you don't." Ty considered himself a strong male, but at his son's whisper, the Alicorn had to fight back his own tears. "I missed you too, my son... More than you will ever know." He gave his son a last nuzzle in return, before stepping past him to stand in front of his grandchildren next to Delphina. "Hello young ones... I'm your grandpa." He grinned at them.

Delphy grinned at her brothers name for her, not having heard it in ages it seemed. She then beamed brightly, streching her neck to nuzzle each foal gently. "Lyrical Sky and Nightfall... Well, it a pleasure to meet you both."

Delphina grinned at her father, watching him with the foals. Her dad had always been good with foals, and she thought it was because he was such a big kid at heart. Watching the foals for a moment, Delphina wondered silently if Lyrical was envious of her brother. That had been one of Delphy's biggest fears growing up, was the Orion would hate her because of her wings.

Echo's Song stood silent for a moment at Katell's side as she watched the proceedings of the reunion. She had to agree with the unicorn mare on her observation. The reunion did seem to be going well. "It is a pleasure to finally meet you Katell. It seems as though my son has a good sense of both character and beauty," Echo paused unsure if that comment sounded wrong. "I'm sorry if that seemed awkward. I am just pleased that he's found you. Fate wasn't kind to us at first."

Echo glanced at her grandchildren before sighing softly. How did life manage to flip everything around in such a sort while?

Puzzled at this train of thought Echo spoke softly - more to herself than anyone else. "Fate still seems to be unkind to me though."

Orion's Verse listened to his father's response and gave a warm smile to the stallion. Perhaps mending the ties that had been severed long ago would be possible. Orion knew that his father was truly regretful and now there was a glorious chance for Ty to be involved in his life. He stood back as his father introduced himself to his children before he glanced back towards Katell. His mother was standing at her side watching everything. In all the excitement and emotion warring inside with this meeting the fact that his mother was once again with foal had escaped him.

Starting back towards his mother and Katell the wind carried a snippet of his mother's conversation and he swelled with pride. It was funny how one did not see the qualities in oneself that perhaps others could spot instantly. It was then that the stallion caught the last line from his mother. He wasn't even sure if it was meant to be heard but he pulled up short before staring hard at her. Fate still wasn't kind? What did she mean by that?

Lyrical Sky watched as her grandfather approached them. Here was another winged Soquili and member of her family. Her gaze took in her brother's wings, her aunt's wings and now her grandfather's wings. While her mother and father seemed to be alright with the prospect of not having wings Lyrical longed to soar in the sky that she was partly named after. Her little horn flashed in the sunlight as she tried shaking the unpleasant thoughts from her mind. It was wrong to be jealous of others and yet the little filly could not stop the feeling of resentment from flowing through her. Her gaze stopped then on the other member of this reunion who she hadn't been introduced to yet. The ground mare had a rounded belly and Lyrical sighed at the sight of the markings on her body. This would have to be her grandmother. It was funny how she hadn't been introduced yet.
