They irritate me so much over there. They're as generalized and without meaning in their arguments as they accuse twilight to be.

ps, no real purpose to this thread, just kinda venting. If you'd like to randomly vent, comment on that, or just post something, feel free to do so.

As much as I hate Twilight those "Anti-Twilight" groups are very ******** annoying. People shouldn't define themselves by what they dislike.

Their purpose is to look for people who share 'common interest and opinions'. So, yeah... sad

Do you really hate, Twilight, Ms. Luna? Why?

I dislike twilight for several reasons but for the sake of brevity, I will only list a few and a brief description of those reasons.

Number one, I absolutely loathe the main character, bella. She places herself miles above all other characters through her 'supreme intellect' just because she read more books than they did. On top of that, she only likes the people who don't like her. There are plenty of normal people who truely care for her, like her, and possibly love her, but she brushes them aside and labels them as nerds or preps. She then proceeds to seclude herself from everyone else because she thinks she's much too good for anyone else.

Secondly, there's really no plot structure or tact to the way that she writes. There are major key elements of literature that she completely ignores in her writing. One of those key elements is conflict. Some might argue that bella's hate for everything is an internal conflict, but really, it's only saying that she's too good for the world that she lives in. Conflict is one of the many devices used to deffine qualities of character and important themes an author is trying to convey. There are no themes to the book, rather it's more like a catalogue of her daily fantasies.

This last detail is probably less important than the first two, but it really irks me throughout the entire read. The author has such a huge lack of attention to detail in the way of fact checking and randomly throwing in random words. For example, miss rosaline who's heart was still beating when she was in the morgue should have been realized as not dead. Boy-scouts were trained in cpr by 1911 so you can bet that any half witted 'doctor' would have known how to recesitate her. On the subject of random word use, glut is a deffinition specific to food, not weapons. So to say that you have a glut of weapons is like saying you have consumed weapons. Mixing of meanings can contribute to a theme of hunger for revenge as in Iago's sililoquy in 'Othello, the moor of venice', but it was just thrown in there to sound fancy.

That's a brief overview of my opinion of twilight.
However, I do not flam people who like twilight as the people in the anti-twilight guild do. It's fine to enjoy loosing yourself in a fantasy world, but I like literature and that is the ground on which I challenge people about twilight. I challenge them that twilight is not true or lasting literature as so many other good works are.

I don't deffine myself as not likeing several different things, but I still join groups for those things. It's more the people who do deffine themselves by what they dislike that normally irritate me the most.
Honestly, when you see fan-girls spamming all over the place about how much they love edward, twilight, and jacob, change the word love to hate and that's basically all you get from those people. It gets annoying and repetitive either way.

Wow, you really are disappointed of Twilight. sweatdrop

Hehe, don't let that intimidate you though!
It's not necissarily the content of twilight that bugs me, it's the attention that twilight gets for its content.

That book was deffinitely some good raw material to start out on or to work with to make a really good work. It just needs some good polishing. What irritates me the most is that it became so popular without that extra polishing that most other authors require to get their material even looked at.

DISCLAIMER!!!
Just because I don't like major points about twilight does not mean that I hate everything about it!
I absolutely adore parodies and spoofs of twilight and some other things. For instance, there is a very interesting Harry potter/Twilight cross over fan fiction here in this guild called "Not so Magical".

Also, feel free to disagree with me on any points I have made and I will gladly discuss it with you in a civilized debate without any name calling or personality slanders.

I used to really enjoy twilight.
The movies really bothered me though, and all of those things you explained about the books and what's not very right about them, I agree with. I'll be going to see the last two movies though. Because in a ten years when everyone is like "OHH I REMEMBER TWILIGHT!"
I'm going to be like "Yeah, good times, good times." xp

Personally, the first book was cute!

The second, third, and fourth... weren't that great. You really saw what a selfish p***k (excuse my french) Bella was. I wanted to STAB HER. Also, the movies, and the amount of fangirls that think the movies are great are ANNOYING. THAT is the reason I hate everything Twilight now. The fandom is so retarded. <_>

I don't, however, like how people bash Twilight just to bash it. I mean, get a life.

-shrugs-

For example, my one gaia friend [smugly] said she went to a Twilight Forum just to tell them how awful it is. In my opinion, they didn't shove their obsession of Twilight in your face, so why bother shoving your hatred for it in theirs? That's so immature.

Well, several people (namely my younger brother) do shove it in my face. Whenever something sparkles, he makes some refference to 'vampires', he keeps telling me that I am going to go to the dvd release of new moon, and never stops talking about twilight. Still, that's no reason for anti-twilights to do the same.

Oh... I'm intrigued to read the series and see what Meyer has to offer.

Either side that you chose to be on, it's important to read the book so you don't form your opinion solely on other people's opinions.
