Hekima paced back and forth nervously waiting on his mother, he wanted to discuss something important with her, something he didn't feel right about discussing with anyone else, and didn't know who would know best about the subject besides dear old mum.
He felt his tail flick back and forth, and his ears droop a little. He was hoping that his mother wouldn't think this was an absurd idea, because they had adopted many cubs into the pride before, but that was just it, they adopted them into the pride. Hekima wanted to adopt a cub for himself. He saw how happy children had made his mother, and how happy it had made his siblings, and he really wanted that. He wanted it more than anything. After all he couldn't simply follow around his younger siblings forever, they're getting bigger and well, they're not his.
Hekima flopped down on the ground and rolled over onto his back to scratch it, his nervousness was causing him to itch and it was driving him nuts.

 Moto had returned from her journey a couple of days prior, and had come home to a good report from Kaimel. No crises, nothing gone wrong, no attacks from the Aikanaro'hini...Yes. It had been good. She had fallen back into the role of Mwezi easily. She stretched and shook the sleep from herself, then started out for the day.
And blinked when she spotted Hekima on his back. She raised a brow and chuckled.
"Good day, Hekima. What are you doing?"

Hekima was startled by his mother's voice, as he had forgotten about waiting for her and had been obsessively occupied with getting rid of the itch on his back. He flipped over quickly, his large muscled body being a little clumsy in the process and stood up to great his mother.
"Good Day Mommy, er.....Mother."
Yeah, that was so not smooth, He thought to himself as he tried to regain his composure. He couldn't help but revert back into a bit of a needy child around his mother, after all he loved her more than anything in the world, and she'd always be his mama.
"I had something I wanted to discuss with you, and since you're much more knowledgeable on this topic than I am, uhm....Could you help me out?" He asked, his tail rocking back and forth like someone not used to asking for a favor would, "You see....uhm. I want....I want to adopt a cub."

Her eldest had always been a bit silly. But she didn't love him any less for it. With her serious cubs and her gentle ones...well, Hekima's silliness often was welcome in it's bursts.
"How about 'Mom', dear? Mother sounds far too serious for you." She listened, though, curious on what he might want to talk about. And blinked. Ah...so another of her first litter wanted littles of his own.
"I think that would be wonderful. You'd make a good father." Ah...but there was always the matter of how to adopt. "I...don't think we've any cubs in need of a parent right now...But one never knows when we'll come across a...a parentless little one." It was a sad fact, but a true one.

"Yes, Mom." He said, his ear twitching slightly at the obvious fondness in his voice. He was a mama's boy after all, if she told him to sit, he'd sit. If she told him to stand, he'd stand. He was the first one out of her, and would be the first one there if she ever needed anything, even if in the end he couldn't help her with it.
Hekima felt a little twang in his heart. He knew that in order for him to have a cub, he'd have to take in a little one who lost its parents, and that always got to him. He couldn't imagine losing both his parents, it was bad enough for him that his father has been missing for some time.
"What about surrogacy?" He asked, "When I was out in the Rogue Lands I heard a small pack of dogs talk about it. I'm not quite sure what it is, but it sounded like something that could be tried?"

Surrogacy. Ah...there was a tricky topic. "Well...there are two ways that could work." And both were touchy for most. "The first works only if you have a mate that can have cubs. She'd...well, need to spend a night with another male who was willing to sire cubs for the two of you. The second..." She sighed. "Would be to find a family that was willing to let you adopt one of their cubs, shortly after birth."

"OH. Oh...," Hekima said, trailing off, the prospect of surrogacy ever happening becoming much of a hopeless dream to him. Hekima's displeasure was apparent on his face, a small sense of pain he was carrying about with him about his suspected infertility. He loved being a leopon, but sometimes he wished he was a normal lion or leopard. Than he'd be able to get the family he desired; not many wanted an infertile leopon as a mate.
"I'd have to have a mate for the first part of that to work," He muttered, his ears flattening to his head.

No mother liked seeing their cub troubled or sad. She moved to nuzzle him. "I'm sure you will find someone. Or find a family who would let you adopt a cub." Moto smiled slightly, kindly. "You are a good boy. And we help each other here." She chuckled. "Besides...you are still young. Quite a catch. Nothing like your scarred old mother."
