Maybe honesty wasn't always the best policy.
Now, Selena knew that wasn't really true. She always tried her best to be honest, whatever the situation. And the situation this time had involved a carton of juice and her Biology teacher's best suit. It had been a complete accident, she hadn't meant to, it had just slipped from her hand and she'd been forced to watch, almost in slow motion, as the carton had sailed through the air and landed right on the newly dry-cleaned suit he'd just put down for a moment while he turned to remove a book from a high shelf.
Had it been her, he'd ask. Yes, Selena had admitted sheepishly, followed by offers to pay for it to get professionally clean again. But no, instead he'd decided to give her a punishment where her particular skills for organisation came in handy, which the teen wasn't best pleased with. She wasn't organised because she liked it, she was organised because she had to be, or she'd forget everything! Checking her diary to make sure she wasn't due to be anywhere else, Selena had been dismayed to find out that, infact, she was free Tuesday after school. And so, she was led to the notoriously messy cupboard where all the science files were stored, and ordered to clean it up. She'd be getting help, she was told, but when the dark-haired girl turned up she was the only one there.
Perhaps they'd been lying. How rude.
"I don't want to do this," the girl mumbled childishly under her breath, huffing as she simply stood in front of the cupboard, looking at all the scattered papers and unordered files before her. This was going to take her hours!
She sighed. Best get started, then.

Damian was perpetually late, he was late to school, late to work, late to pretty much everything. It was the fifth time that he was late to Biology that got him a detention, his teacher had said as much as he liked him as a student, being late everyday for a week was too much, but sense he wanted to give him a chance instead of giving him a detention that would show on his record, he told him to come by Tuesday after school and he'd have a special assignment for him.
So when Tuesday afternoon rolled around Damian was unsurprisingly late for his assignment. When he walked in his teacher just rolled his eyes and showed him to the supply cupboard where he was left to organize. The redhead watched as the Bio teacher walked off to do whatever it was teachers did, and then turned to survey the closet. Unfortunately for him he was met by a surprise.
"Selena?!" This wasn't the best circumstance to run into his ex. Especially when he was the one that dumped her. He ran his fingers through his hair trying to think of a way out of this. Currently he was coming up blank. "Don't tell me you have to clean the cupboard too?" Maybe she had just stopped by to look at the horrendous mess that was the science cupboard...maybe, but doubtful.

Selena hadn't heard Damian approaching, too busy straining to reach a particularly large file on the top shelf. She wasn't a particularly short girl, reaching an average 5'6", but that wasn't tall enough to reach the very top shelf in the ill-organized cupboard. She'd just about managed to reach it, feeling rather glad no-one was around due to her top riding up rather a bit, when an all too familiar voice came from behind her. Sounding just as surprised as she felt.
Whirling around, cheeks somewhat red at the position she'd been caught in, Selena pulled her top down a little fiercely, grey-blue eyes settled firmly on the red-headed boy before her. She didn't particularly hate Damian. But he was her ex, having dumped her, which meant she didn't particularly like him either. Selena didn't often hold grudges, but she was a hopeless romantic, and anything to do with love she kept very close to her heart. The fact that Damian had dumped her wasn't something she willingly accepted. He'd been the cause of it all - his shameless flirting whilst she was present, his lack of thoughtfulness. And then he'd had the nerve to tell her it was over. The cheek!
"It seems so, hmm?" she sighed, hand on her hip. She glanced behind her, up at the top shelf with the somewhat precariously balanced folder. "Do something useful and grab that folder before it comes crashing to the ground, will you?" she asked, trying to be as nice as possible. If she was going to be spending the next couple of hours with him, she didn't want it to be in a stony, awkward silence.

Damian stood in the door, hands in his pockets. He wasn't exactly thrilled about the situation, but as he glanced down and caught the swath of exposed stomach before she covered up. His eyes traveled up her body and he couldn't help but admire her, there was a reason he went out with her in the first place. "Great," He lifted a hand to rub at the back of his head, messing up his hair, it seemed they were stuck together.
Moving forwards he didn't stop until he was just inches away from her, if he bent his head he'd be able to smell her hair. Reaching up he pushed the folder back onto the shelf until it was secure and no longer in danger of falling on either of their heads. He stood there a moment, glancing down at her, tempted to reach out and touch her arm or cheek. Yes, he had broken up with her, but they had had a good time. Plus, he couldn't help but be flirtatious with her. He resisted the urge though and took a step or two back.
"So, do you want to split the room up? I'll clean one half and you do the other?" He glanced around, the cupboard was pretty messy, they were going to be there at least an hour.

His wandering eyes didn't go unnoticed, but Selena did her best to ignore it. If she was completely honest, she was just a little flattered by the attention, but not enough to make a deal of it. It was flattery that had lead to their broken relationship in the first place. Selena sighed, rolling her eyes at his less-than-enthuastic tone, "Try to sound a bit excited?" she suggested, almost in a begging tone, a small pout creeping onto her lips. She didn't want this to be awkward.
Wait, what!? Why was he so close? Feeling the heat rise in her cheeks once more, furious at her body for betraying her, Selena diverted her eyes downwards, sideways, anywhere but from his face! He'd moved the folder back now, so why was he still staring at her? If she looked up at him, she wasn't sure what would happen - heck, he was pretty good looking himself. He was like the temptation in all of the old novels - the one that distracted the heroine from her true love. Up until now, she hadn't quite understood exactly why they didn't just resist.
...Now she did.
"Uh, sure," she mumbled, eyes still watching the floor. Realizing it might be difficult to clean the while cupboard in this way, she eventually glanced up at him again, trying to keep herself composed. "So...I'll take this side?"

Damian was about to open his mouth and ask what there was to be excited about, but then she pouted. He had no defense against a girl's pout, it was his kryptonite. He shout his mouth and sighed a little, he supposed he could try to be less sulky. It would go smoother that way at least.
The seventeen year old was close enough that he could feel the warmth coming off her body in the not-so-large cupboard. The urge to reach out and touch her was getting stronger, but he managed to resist, stepping away from her. His gray eyes took in her awkward reaction, the unwillingness to look at him and he couldn't help but smile, obviously he still had some kind of effect on her.
He arched a brow as she stared at the floor and mumbled, she was usually more direct than that. He waited patiently for her to look at him, and when she did he flashed her his most charming smile. "Sure, I can get all the high stuff, so just holler if you need help. As much as I'd love to see more of you, it's probably safer if I handle it." Damian winked at his ex, apparently being that close to her and seeing her reaction had put him in a better mood. It was hard to be in a bad mood around a pretty girl who had at least the slightest interest in him, even if that pretty girl was one of his ex's.

Her pout seemed to have work, since he shut up. But Selena certainly wasn't happy with the way this conversation was going. Sure, she didn't have a boyfriend at the moment, so there wasn't necessarily any betrayl except that to herself. Damian had had his chance, and Selena was determined not to give him another.
But damn that god-cursed smile of his!
"Shut up," she hissed softly, making a point to tug her top down a little more and pull her jeans up, so he wouldn't be getting a view when she bent over. His wink didn't go unnoticed, Selena just ignored it, as she proceeded to bend over and begin removing messy sheets of paper and folders from the bottom shelf, as a way of hiding the rising heat in her face. Why was she acting like this? She didn't want to, did she? ...No, of course she didn't, what a stupid question! Being stuck with Damian in a closet for a prolonged period of time, though...well, she wasn't sure what she'd end up doing.

The red head arched a brow surprised again at her reaction. He watched as she covered up and then frowned, that wasn't any fun. His eyes made their way down to her butt as she bent over and he couldn't help but stare for a moment. Giving his head a shake he stepped towards her. "Oh come on, Titch, you know I was just joking around." It was funny how easily he fell back into using her old pet name, it was part of his flirting mentality: figure out what will best charm a girl and then use it. He rested his hand lightly on her shoulder for a moment. "You used to like it when I joked with you."

Busy sorting out the bottom shelf, all of her attention on filing the stray sheets alphabetically, Selena only scowled as the all-too familiar pet name was used. What, did he think he could call her by a pet name - which she hated, by the way - and she'd just fall back into his arms and everything would be back to normal? No, fat chance. "Don't call me that!" she scowled, that all-too familiar childish edge creeping into her voice, Selena sounding almost like she was sulking.
What the teen wasn't expecting, however, was a hand on her shoulder. Having been tensed somewhat, expecting such a move from Damian, she stood up sharply, not having quite accounted for him being behind her. She stumbled forwards a little, losing her balance and falling into the cupboard with a strange squeak.

"Fine, not Titch, Tickle-bunny then." He grinned, not quite catching on that she wasn't all that happy with him. Damian seemed to live in this delusion that no one could ever be seriously upset with him, especially girls.
When she stood up the tall boy stumbled back, he hadn't been expecting her to react so suddenly. His back hit the door, the doorknob digging into his lower back as his momentum made the door slam shut, the faint click! of the lock being heard after. "Damn it, Selena." He groaned looking at the cupboard she fell into, he watched it shake and his eyes drifted upwards spotting the danger. The precariously perched binders and manila folders were about to come crashing down onto his ex. Throwing himself forward he pinned her between himself and the cupboard, crossing his arms above his head, his height shielding her as the binders and folders and one errant textbook came tumbling down onto him. He looked down at the petite girl and groaned again. "Titch you're going to be the death of me."
The mini-avalanche of school supplies didn't last very long and when it was over he straightened up lowering his arms. He managed to get out of it without major injury, the worst was where the spine of the text book had smacked his arm, and the doorknob had dug into his back. Both would probably bruise, but he'd done worse to himself. He looked over at Selena. "You okay?"

She didn't even have time to tell him she hated Tickle-bunny more. Instead her shin collided painfully with a lower shelf, her elbows slamming down hard on one of the upper shelves as she attempted to break her fall. A sharp gasp was the only audible hint to the pain that suddenly rocketed through her body, tears automatically jumping to her eyes, leaking out as she felt Damian's body suddenly pressed extremely close to hers, pressing her further into the shelves in her awkward position.
She was about to scream at him to get off, but instead the scream was a rather fearful one, the clatter of falling folders and textbooks causing her to duck, and throw her hands over her head in self-defense. The pet names, the pain in her elbows and shin, the fact that she'd nearly been crushed by books...the overly-emotional girl was unable to stop the overflow of tears that suddenly streamed down her face, turning sharply and pushing firmly into Damian's chest, unaware that the closet door had swung closed behind him. "Go away! Goawaygoawaygoaway!" she yelled, punctuating each phrase with another shove.
Her breathed was shaky, broken by the occasional sob, "No, I'm not okay! Just...just leave me alone, please!"

Damian winced at the screams, he had forgotten how emotional Selena was. How he'd forgotten he didn't know, she cried during every rom-com he'd taken her too after all. He watched as she began to cry a frown tugging at his lips, he hated when girls cried. "Don't cry, Selena, it wasn't that ba-" His words were cut off by her shoves. Reaching down he grabbed her hands, holding them securely but not squeezing them. "Sele, calm down, we're okay!" He hadn't had to calm down a hysterical girl in a while, he knew slapping might work but he wasn't one to hit a girl no matter the circumstances.
He did the only thing he could think of, which was the opposite of what she wanted. He pulled her to him, folding his arms around her in a hug. "I'm not gonna leave you alone when you're upset, Titch." He rubbed her back in a slow circular motion with one hand trying to calm her down. "I'm sorry," He didn't specify what he was apologizing for, maybe for dumping her, or maybe for startling her into hurting herself. "Just please don't be upset"

Selena didn't really want to be left alone, she knew she didn't. No-one liked being left alone, especially not Selena. She initially resisted, continuing to shove him, despite the fact that he held her tightly in a hug, each shove weaker than the last until finally she relaxed, her head falling onto his shoulder as she took a few moments to calm down. Being surprised and frightened wasn't something the teen did well with, especially not when it was by an ex-boyfriend she still had slight feelings for.
A few shaky breaths were all it took for the girl to calm herself down, Selena remaining in his chest for a few more moments to compose herself...and sort of because she liked it. ...Wait, no she didn't! She most definitely didn't! "It's okay," she mumbled softly, giving Damian's chest a much more gentle push to show she didn't want the hug anymore. She most certainly definitely surely hadn't ever ever wanted it in the first place, anyway. ...Yeah, right.
"Thank you," she almost whispered, tear-stained cheeks bright red once more, "Can you...move back a bit? I'm pushed into the shelves."

Damian held on as she pushed at him, she'd calm down soon- he hoped. Luckily he was right and it wasn't long before she was just leaning against him. He let his grip relax, but he didn't let go of her. "See, we're all fine." He continued to rub her back, now because he was liking it instead of to calm her down.
He savoured the moment, feeling the heat of their bodies mingling together, her curves pressing against him. It was so familiar, yet a forgotten feeling. She was so small, he could pick her up and toss her around easily. His mind starting to think about picking her up and tossing her onto a bed and doing things he never had the chance to do to her. He could feel the blood rushing to certain places and when she pushed him away he gladly stepped back. He didn't need her to know just how she affected him.
"Sorry, didn't mean to pin you there." He took another step back looking around to try and distract himself. Was it just him or was it getting stuffy? Going to the door he turned the handle planning on opening it, but it didn't budge. "s**t," He tried it again with no luck. "The door's locked." His mind started to rush through all the things that they could do in a locked cupboard and he groaned quietly. This wasn't going to end well.

Him rubbing her back was a really nice feeling, made the girl feel more reassured and comfortable. But none-the-less she most certainly didn't complain when he stepped back, quite grateful that she was able to shuffle forwards, away from the shelves. He apologised, and she gave a nod to acknowledge the apology, but otherwise merely watched the floor once again in sheer embarrassment. Not only was she being her usual, embarrassingly childish self, but she was being it in front of her ex.
She took a step forwards, expecting Damian to have already opened the cupboard and stepped out, but instead she unintentionally pressed herself up against his back, since he hadn't moved. ...It was locked? As in they were locked in here, together, without a key. "...Oh," was all the shocked girl could managed to say, as she quickly took a step back, except it was too quick and she ended up stumbling into the shelves again. Giving another childish squeak, the threat of tears arising once again, Selena furiously pushed hersef up again, stamping her foot as if threatening a tantrum.
"I-I-I...M-My phones in my bag. O-Outside," she managed to speak finally, seeming thoroughly fed up and irritated.
