Damian didn't particularly enjoy the library. It was filled with books, and dictionaries, and other things he didn't really enjoy spending time to peruse. He especially didn't like the public library since it was so much bigger than the school library, but here he was in the public library on a Saturday because AJ had decided to eat his copy of Hamlet. Literally tear it to shreds and eat it. Really it was Damian's fault for leaving the book on the ground where the chew-happy Old English Sheepdog could get to it, but he had been tired the night before and figured it would be safe for just one night, right? Wrong.

Raking his fingers through his hair he stood halfway between the exit and the main part of the library, just staring at the shelves upon shelves of books. How was he supposed to find anything in this jungle? And what did he do once he did find it? Just walk out with the book? The seventeen year old didn't know about, and definitely didn't have a library card. It seemed his knowledge about the library system was woefully lacking. But really it wasn't his fault, he had a computer, you could look up anything on the computer, except, it seemed, Hamlet Abridged.

Silver eyes glanced around and he chewed on his lower lip, hands stuffed in his jean's pockets, maybe if he just stood there long enough someone would take pity on him and ask if he needed assistance.

Alba was a common sight within Destiny City's Public Library. It was her studying sanctuary when Shufflepuck's was unruly or entirely too crowded for her to concentrate on her work, or sometimes she preferred the atmosphere of the building itself. It was large, with high ceilings and enough windows to light up every crevice of every bookshelf on a sunny day without the aide of florescent tube lights. Today was one of those days, where she felt the hesitation of spring stepping out of winter's shadow and nothing sounded better than a book in her favorite library nook: the bay window.

From there she could witness sprouts budding and small woodland creatures meandering their way from a long winter's hibernation. It really helped set the mood for A Midsummer Night's Dream, her theatre assignment for the weekend.

A mass of bright red hair caught the corner of her eye and Alba couldn't help but turn her head to peer at the lost boy. Judging from his expression, she assumed that he was having trouble finding whatever it was that he needed; it looked like he'd never been to a library before, or at least, never been to one to actually use its public services. She had already breezed through most of the chapters, and so she decided to be a good samaritan and lend a helping hand. Besides, there was nothing wrong with grabbing a few more karma points to help her week.

She pressed her bookmark between the book's pages and put the play away in her handy totebag before stretching out of her seat. Uff, I need to be careful, otherwise my legs will go stiff if I sit around for too long, she thought to herself as she made her way to the gingered boy, who by now was beginning to think he'd have better luck randomly picking a book than ask for help.

"Hello! Do you need any help? You look a little lost." She stated with her Helping Person Smile.

Damian was staring at a particularly full shelf of books. So many titles, how was he supposed to find one book in all of this? It was daunting, he was getting ready to just turn around and leave when a helpful voice stopped him, a helpful female voice.

Turning towards the direction the voice came from he smiled a bit sheepishly, hands slipping into his pockets. "Hey there." His smile widened as his eyes took her in quickly, she was a cutie, he always liked brunettes. He brought his gray eyes back up to the girl's olive green ones, not wanting to come off as a creeper. "Yeah, I could use a little help, I'm looking for a book but there's so many. It's overwhelming."

"It can be when you first come in," She agreed. With three floors and a basement all devoted to the shelving and the meticulous categorization of books, it's a wonder that she still didn't get lost within its labyrinth-like hallways.

"What kind of book are you looking for? We can look it up on one of their open computers through their digital cataloguing. I'm so glad to have never used to the card cataloguing system that my parents told me about, that might have even scared me away from here!"

She giggled at her joke and gestured to Damian to follow her towards the Library's Computer Center, something the boy would have noticed had he walked just a few feet more towards the middle of the room. It was like an oasis of monitors and modems, all nestled within a circle of carefully arranged desks. Being a weekend, there was scarcely a person using them.

At her question Damian had to think a moment before he remembered. "I need another copy of Hamlet, We're reading it in school and I have lines I have to study, but my dog ate my copy." He laughed and shrugged a bit as if to say 'who would've thought?'. He chuckled a bit at her joke, and followed after her. He couldn't stop his eyes from drifting to down to her butt as he walked behind her, what could he say? She had a nice butt, it was hard not to look at.

He was so busy checking her out that he nearly ran into her when she stopped. Luckily he caught himself just in time. Looking up and around he was a bit surprised at how many computers there were, he didn't think that many people used the library anymore. Looking down at the girl he smiled. "Maybe you could show me how to look it up? I've never used a digital catalogue before." It seemed today's manner of flirting was to be the hopeless kid who needed help with everything. He'd draw her in and then act all charming and seal the deal, or so he hoped.

Alba stifled a laugh and quirked a dubious eyebrow up. "Really? I didn't know dogs actually did that 'eating homework' nonsense. ...are you sure you just didn't misplace it in your room or something?" Her hip swung and playfully bumped Damian away, emphasizing her teasing remark.

"Oh, and actually, I know exactly where to find Shakespeare. I'm reading one of his plays too!" However, instead of turning around and walking towards the shelves in which she knew housed the playwright's collection, she swiveled onto a chair and patted the one next to hers for Damian to follow. "But since you don't know how to use this, I'll go ahead and show you how. It's really easy. You just type in the author, or title, or keywords here..."

She typed up Hamlet by Shakespeare, pressed return and was rewarded with a slew of results. "As you can see, the computer also looks to see if there are other libraries that hold the book incase this one doesn't. But, Shakespeare is kind of a general keeper, so..." She trailed her finger down the screen until she found a segment of the list with numbers. "..it's not a problem for us to find it here. You just write this number down on the side and go look for it!"

"See? That easy. Think you can try and find the shelf from here?"

Damian tried to look put out as she tried not to laugh at him, but he couldn't keep up the act and grinned instead. "You've never met my dog then, he'll eat anything." His grin grew a bit as she hip bumped him and he followed after her, he had a good feeling about this one.

"Oh? It wouldn't happen to be Hamlet would it? I could use help with my lines." He chuckled and slid into the chair that gestured for him to sit in. The red head scooted it closer to her so he could lean over and see the screen as she was typing. He was close enough that he could almost smell her shampoo and he resisted the urge to turn his head and do just that. He knew from past experience that it came off much more creeper than flattering.

His gray eyes followed her finger down the screen and then glanced around the table. Not too far off he saw a stack of post-its and a pen and he grabbed both, writing the number down on the post it. "You make it look so easy." He smiled at her. He could've most likely figured it out on his own, but that would've killed his excuse to keep talking to her.

When she mentioned finding the shelf on his one he looked around the library and the multitude of shelves before looking back at her with the best set of puppy dog eyes he could muster. "There's a lot of shelves, maybe you could point me in the right direction?"

"Hamlet is a good one! I'm reading A Mid Summer Night's Dream, though. I need to study it even deeper so that I may push it forward as a summer play production." The thought of sewing faerie costumes and building magical and mystifying play sets thoroughly excited Alba, and there were enough characters that maybe even she would audition for a small part. It couldn't hurt, at least.

She stood from the chair and offered a hand to Damian. Once his palm met Alba's, she pulled him up from the chair and immediately pushed him in-front of her, letting her hand go. "I'll give you one hint - it'll be in the Fiction section of the library. All sections are clearly labeled on the shelves, including the classifying number you just wrote down on that slip of paper."

"I'll be right behind you incase you get lost, but I'm pretty sure you'll be able to get it right. It's not that difficult." Apparently, puppy dog eyes don't work too well on Alba; maybe she's a cat person.

Damian had never read A Mid Summer Night's Dream, he didn't have much of an interest in Shakespeare and wouldn't be bothering with Hamlet if it wasn't for his English class. He arched a brow at her words. "A play? That seems like a big undertaking, good luck." He smiled at her then looked back to the screen.

Once they had found the book it was time to physically find the book. When a hand was offered to him the red head wrapped his fingers around it, accepting her help up. He would've preferred to let his fingers linger on hers but she dropped his hand and he let her. He stumbled forwards when he was pushed and his silver eyes scanned the book shelves. Fiction section, fiction section.

"I get lost pretty easily." He started walking the shelves, searching for Fiction. When he found that he started looking for the right number range, frequently referring back to the number on the post it he had stuck to his hand.

"Yes! A play." Alba remarked excitedly, following the redhead's footsteps closely behind. "It would be a large production to take, but nothing that the Academy can't handle. I usually help with props and sets, and my roommate's been giving me a hand on learning how to sew, so I think the actual production portion of the play could be done well....I guess it just depends if other students would be willing to devote their time to acting for it. I certainly hope so!"

They weaved through tall towers of shelved books, each marked by the specific genre of tomes they held. This was one of the reasons why Alba loved the library in destiny city: it was much bigger and held the broadest collection out of any library she had ever had the privilege to step in. Anything that she could possibly want to read she could find in this very building, just a short walk away from her dorm.

"It's easy to get lost in here," she agreed, "there are just so many books and shelves and even a few floors to look through! You'll get the hang of it, though. Once you find the main sections, all you'd need to do is head over and match the number. Which...judging from where we are, it looks like we're getting close!"
