Hobbies:
Recycling -- "Since this business with global warming and the slow depletion of much of earth's natural resources, the rest of the world has taken an interest in recycling, but I did it before it was cool. When I was little I'd exchange soda cans for some change at the grocery store, but now that I'm living on the street I've found a new use for this hobby. You have no idea the kind of stuff people throw away. I found this jacket (it's leather, see?) on the edge of the road! As though somebody had taken it off to suntan or something. Anyways, I made sure I cleaned it, because I don't feel like getting lice, and now it looks so good on me."
Drifting -- "I didn't tell mom when I left because I knew she would be upset, and I really didn't want to see her cry. I bet that she did when she figured out that I'd gone. Anyways, I'm a drifter now and its a life that I'm reasonably happy with. I hitch-hike all over the country and it really is an amazing way to travel. I've met so many interesting people, and have heard many stories about life and love and sorrow. That's why they pick hitch-hikers up, you know, because they want somebody to talk to. I wish I could say that it was because of my good looks, but I haven't had a lot of women stop on the side of the road and offer to give me a ride. I'm frequently picked up by men- but then, I suppose that doesn't mean anything about whether or not I'm sexy."
"Its been a little touch and go, and I've gone without food sometimes, but I'm actually living in Destiny City right now. I didn't want to spend the winter on the streets, so I got a job as a janitor at a library in town. I rented a little apartment and that's where I'm at for the moment. I thought I was gonna leave as soon as the weather started getting nice again, but there's something strange going on in this city. Apparently there are terrorists everywhere. I kinda wanna stick around and see what happens."
Trespassing -- "Since I got my own place, I haven't had to do much of this, but when I was on the road- Man. Everywhere I went I was trespassing. I didn't really enjoy it much but, hey, who says the land belongs to somebody just because they have some piece of paper with their signatures on it anyways?"
Reading-- "I can't afford a television, and my apartment is pretty naked aside from the bare essentials. Which is okay with me. I borrow books from the library to keep me busy, though. I read pretty much anything, but I like adventure books the best. They remind me of the road, and they've helped me make it through the winter."
Working-- "If I wanna keep this apartment and not freeze my a** off, its something I gotta do. Besides, working as a janitor ain't so bad, really. Its not a thinking man's job, but the library's pretty massive and I work with this old guy named Ben to keep the floors clean and the toilet seats sparkling. You better believe I do a good job to. It pays decent."
Virtues:
Add some roo to your do -- Shannon is a man of action, and an innovator. He is bright and clever and can find a productive use for just about anything if he puts his mind to it. Something of a MacGyver, every man's trash is Shannon's treasure, and he doesn't like to throw anything away if he can help it. This is attributed to his lifestyle choice, which has also helped him learn how far, exactly, he can stretch a paycheque. It also means that he isn't afraid to go there. The sight of blood doesn't make Shannon woozy. The stench of garbage doesn't make him flinch. If something needs done, Shannon will make sure it gets done. He will go the extra mile, and quite possibly shock you in the process. This is not to say that he is extremely brave. In fact, it has nothing to do with courage and everything to do with necessity. Shannon does not like to waste time.
Try Pantene Pro-V for unbeatable strength -- You can drag Shannon's face through the mud. He will drag you down with him and pommel you until you drown. You can beat him and call him names. He will beat you up harder and call you even meaner names. You can poke out his eyes. Blind, bleeding, and sore; he will shove them down your throat and make you choke on them. When the going gets tough, you better believe that Shannon gets going too. He is resilient and adaptable. This does not mean that he is unbeatable or even very cruel. In fact, Shannon isn't cruel at all. He just has a backbone made of stone and won't let anyone mess around with his s**t.
Maybe she's born with it, maybe it's Maybeline-- Natural. Confident. Shannon is comfortable in his own skin pretty much anywhere and is very social in a calm, easy-going sort of way. The strong, silent type; he generally doesn't say very much, and does not force his company on anyone, as he would not like to have company forced upon him. He appreciates people who are genuine, like he perceives himself to be, and balks at men and women who pretend to be who they are not. Honesty and truth are important to him. However, Shannon recognizes the mercy of white lies and (occasional) necessity of deceit. He does not like to lie, but is more than capable of it.
Easy, breezy, beautiful cover girl -- You'd never guess it from the stoic, quiet way that he carries himself, but Shannon is optimistic to the point of being downright sunny. He has a heart of gold and big dreams for his future- even though he's not sure what they are yet. Shannon simply knows. A firm believer in the possibility of fate, he has a gut feeling (born from ego and a little bit of hope) that tells him he's special. That, as long as he listens, tells him where to go and what to do. He has the spirit of a wanderer, and lives for the adventure that decisions made on the whim of feeling should inevitably unveil to him. This gut feeling represents a paradox in Shannon's life. When it is there and when it is satisfied, he is as happy as happy can be. But when it's disappeared, and it does so sometimes, Shannon loses himself and all sense of direction in life. Without his gut feeling to guide him, he becomes something of a wraith until it blooms again.
Flaws:
If you can't Dodge it, RAM it-- Shannon's is a rebellious heart. His morals are questionable at best and controversial at their worst. He is unhappy with the way society dictates the lives of people, and longs to be his own man. His darkest ambition is to be above the law and, since that is impossible, has resorted to sneaking under it in order to live the way that he desires. This makes him a criminal, but only in the gentlest sense of the word. If he were to think about it at all, Shannon would fancy himself a sort of modern day Robin Hood; stealing from the rich to feed the poor. Except he doesn't steal unless he absolutely has to (its too risky), so its more of a 'trespasses in people's garages so that he can find someplace warm to sleep' thing.
Spit out your Stride gum and chew another piece, already! -- Stubborn to the point of being frustratingly obstinate, Shannon does not like to be pushed around and has done everything in his power to assert his independence in a world that would have him be anything but. While Shannon is an advocate for equality and will listen to the opinions of others, he is positively imperious in the belief that he is always right. Anyone who disagrees with him is welcome to their own opinions, but they're inevitably and undeniably wrong as far as he's concerned. He's not one of those people who will argue with you until you've accepted his beliefs as the truth and been converted, but he is one of their dismissive, backhanded cousins.
New Trojan Ecstasy: feels like nothing's there -- Here is the glue that ties everything else together. Shannon's lifestyle suits him particularly because he feels detached from the world. It is this innate sense of disconnection that enables him to live so freely, so far away from his mother and sisters, beneath the thumb of the law; sneaking around wherever it suits him and doing what he likes, whenever he likes. He has no sense of obligation to the system, and has no desire to get a job and make something of himself simply because everybody else thinks its a good idea. The biggest drawback of this trait (and its a major one) is how lonely it makes him feel. While generally cheerful, with a healthy opinion of himself, Shannon is unfortunately prone to bouts of extreme depression and emptiness. These leave him vulnerable and moody, and feeling like a man without an identity. For a man whose identity is his whole life, that's a really really big problem.
Use Proactiv everyday and you won't get breakouts -- There are many letters Shannon never got around to writing and many phone calls he never got around to dialling. While he is generally reliable and willing to drop almost everything for a friend whose really in need, Shannon struggles to recognize the importance of visiting grandma (why does she care so much, anyways?) and calling his mother to let her know he hasn't died somewhere wet and crawling with worms. He is absent-minded and forgets things that are not of the utmost priority. Actually, if he's busy, he can sometimes even forget to eat. But that doesn't happen very often because his gut instinct thinks food is pretty awesome.
