Mini-Events are small contests and games that award small amounts of Shakaiyo or Edits (or anything really), as prizes. Some Mini-Events are "official" Mini-Events held by the shop staff in conjunction with main events, and some Mini-Events are held by thread regulars to give away Shakaiyo they don't want, or extra breeding baskets.
Participating in a Mini Event
When you participate in a Mini-Event, there are several rules you need to make sure you follow.
• Follow all of the official Shakaiyo Rules and Regulations.
• Read all of the rules in the Mini-Event post. Make sure you understand what you are participating in before you post.
• If you have any questions, ask! You can either post in the Mini-Event thread or PM the thread creator to ask. Clarity is the best way to avoid conflicts.
• All Mini-Events should be treated with the same amount of respect and sportsmanship as official events. Just because a Mini-Event isn't hosted by a staff member doesn't mean you can harass the event holder or anyone else in the thread.
• If you suspect that an event holder is breaking the rules for holding an event (see below), please PM Shakaiyo.
• If you suspect that someone else in the thread is breaking the rules, please PM the event holder.
• If you win a Shakaiyo, you must fill out a form and post it in the Naming Thread, so that the colorists will know to cert it.
Hosting a Mini Event
If you have a Shakaiyo that you think could find a better home elsewhere, or if you have extra baskets after a breeding, you may host a Mini-Event to determine the new owners of the Shakaiyo. However, to insure that all Mini-Events are conducted in an orderly fashion, there is a certain set of rules that all Event Holders must follow.
• In order to give away a Shakaiyo in a Mini-Event, you must currently own that Shakaiyo. If you are giving away a breeding basket, both owners must agree on the event. You may not create mini-events for Shakaiyo you do not currently own. Period.
• Before you can hold a Mini-Event, it must first be approved by Shakaiyo staff. To get approval, simply PM Shakaiyo. If your approval is denied, please do not complain. Just think of a new Mini-Event idea.
• All Mini-Events must have a definite start time, end time, and judging period. These dates must be announced in the first post of the Mini-Event thread, and you may not change them without permission from Shakaiyo staff.
• Free events only. You may not, under any circumstances, accept gold or real money in exchange for a Shakaiyo. This means no auctions, no paid raffles, nothing. All mini-events that are not hosted by staff must be 100% free.
• If you start a mini-event but fail to announce a winner after the judging period is over, Shakaiyo Staff will choose a winner for you.
• If there is a discrepancy or tie, you may determine the winner by flipping a coin with the random number genrator. (generate a number 1-2, 1 is 'heads' and 2 is 'tails'.
• If you think someone is cheating or breaking your rules, please handle it in an orderly fashion and PM Shakaiyo so that we can investigate and possibly blacklist the person involved.
• If you have any questions or conflicts at any time, please PM Shakaiyo and we will do our best to provide a solution.
