I do not ******** like this...

Well, there were several things that Sailor Saiph didn't like about this particular patrol. The fact that she had no backup was one. And that fact that this warehouse superficially resembled the outside of the aquarium from hell in her nightmares was the other. Frowning, she shook her head and considered to prowl the shadows. She'd heard an odd noise in here and well. It was her job to check it out on the just in case factor.

The sooner this patrol was over and she could go home, the better. <********, I do not like this place...."

"Why in the world not, dear?"

The sound of heels clicking against the ground echoed through the empty warehouse, the echo growing closer and closer to the senshi with every new step. "After all, you chose to wander around here - I can only assume you were looking for another fight to pick."

Out from the shadows strutted a feminine figure, waves of long orange hair gently swaying behind her with each step. While out on her own patrolling, Nealite had caught sight of the senshi roaming around the area. An all-too familiar senshi, one that brought back a rush of unwanted, undesired memories that ignited an angry fire within. There was no way she'd let this opportunity pass her by.

Her face, however, spoke nothing of this grudge, nothing of the rage seething in her as her hand gripped tighter to her mirror.

"Should I be expecting more company to arrive? You senshi always seem to travel in packs - leave it to you little bitches to gang up on a person instead of fighting fair."

A hand fell to one hip and her head tilted slightly. "But it's alright, dear, I'm more than a match for you anyhow. I have a friend who'd like to thank you for the coma you put him in. Since he's not here to thank you himself, I guess I get all the honors, hm?"

The sound of another voice made Saiph give an undignified yelp and spin around, eyes wide, half expecting to see the monster from her nightmares. Instead, she saw a flame haired figure who looked horrifyingly, unpleasantly familiar. Feeling her heart sink into her stomach, she nevertheless stood her ground. Nothing like running into someone with a grudge against her.

"Well," she answered in a calm voice, "maybe because this place reminds me of a nightmare I had. And as far as ganging up on anyone, I didn't ask Sailor Huge Friggin' Whirlpool in the Park to come to my aid while your friend was busy trying to choke me."

Might as well be honest. Not that Saiph thought it would change anything. But at least she'd be able to face this with a somewhat clean conscience. In the same quiet voice, she continued, nothing in her body language showing how shaken she was.

"I would have let him walk away you know. He chose to attack me first."

Then, raising her eyes to stare directly as the other woman, she made a little gesture with her hand as if to say, If we must, we must.

Ignoring the topic of nightmares (as she had her own she preferred not to revisit), she once again began to walk towards the other girl, her pace slow and steady.

"Oh I'm sure he did, sweetie," she cooed in response, "Just as I'm sure you certainly would have let him go."

The smirk turned into a scowl, the humor and sarcasm leaving as quickly as they'd arrived. She didn't believe for a moment that this girl had any intentions of having let Hematite go. No, she'd been standing there, alongside Nerissa, as Hematite had attempted to fight for his life, crawling along the pavement in the park. There would be no mercy for this girl, just as there would be no mercy for Nerissa, should she ever manage to catch that little blue haired b***h.

"Hopefully your ability to fight is better than your ability to lie, dear."

Without another word, she jerked forward, swinging out her mirror like a tennis racket towards the shorter girl.

She didn't have time to avoid the mirror as it smashed into the side of her face, didn't even try to avoid it. But she didn't stagger and stumble either. Instead, she wiped a trickle of blood from her cheek where the mirror had cut her and sighed.

"And clearly because people like you leave people lying dead in back alleys and send monsters out after children, it follows that I'm lying. I see. Well."

Her head still swimming from the blow, she nonetheless kicked out suddenly, hoping to hook her foot behind the flame haired woman's knee and yank her down. This time, Tail thrash would be a last resort and only if it came down to Saiph having no other way of surviving this.

She had only moments to grin at her successful hit before the senshi achieved one of her own - the Negaverse Captain went flying backwards down onto the ground after her own leg was pulled from under her.

Landing with a heavy thud against the concrete, she was left momentarily breathless as she paused to regain her bearings. Her mirror had clattered to the ground alongside her and one hand reached out to grab it while the other struck out to latch onto the other girl's leg.

"A sin's a sin, darling - you're no better than I am!"

With that, she struggled to pull the leg, her gloved hand tightening around the senshi's ankle.

Stupid, stupid, stupid! Saiph hadn't moved fast enough and now the b***h had her leg. But she didn't have any leverage, not yet. The lime haired senshi lunged to the side, hoping to break the other's grip on her ankle enough to roll free and run. ******** herorics. Right now, she just wanted to get out.

"Actually," she panted as she dropped and kicked out at Nealite's face with her free leg, "I think I'm quite a bit better than you since I don't get off on hurting other people."

Not that this b***h would believe that. You just had to come n here alone, you ninny, she berated herself. Now look what's you've gotten yourself into.

The older woman screamed as the boot made contact with her cheek, her grip releasing itself from the girl's leg as her hands automatically flew up to shield her face. It was painful, but thankfully her cheekbone remained intact. Unfortunately for the fashion diva, though, bruising was inevitable.

Gritting her teeth, she rolled back and away from the other girl, giving herself enough space to quickly rise from the ground, one hand still hovering over her face. "You say this as you kick my ******** face. C'mon, sweetheart, you've got to work on that lying if you actually expect me to believe you."

Now free of Nealite's grasp, Saiph was already headed towards the exit. The Captain, however, decided that she wasn't quite ready to let this little b***h slip through her fingers.

In a blink, Nealite disappeared, teleporting herself directly in the senshi's path.

"But we can work on it now, you know. I've got all the time in the world for you."

Skidding to a halt, Saiph blinked in confusion. Apparently these guys had tricks that she hadn't known about. She made a mental note to keep it in mind should she survive this.

"Who said I got off on kicking you? I have less potentially lethal ways of getting my jollies, thanks."

This woman was not going to let her escape. And if she could teleport, Saiph really had no way of getting out. Oh sure, she could jump around like a drunk frog and fight physically. But that would only get her so far. Especially since she didn't know what else this chick was capable of. Which left one option and it made her sick to her stomach to think about. Get her talking. Give yourself time to think.

"You said your friend in a coma. Did he wake up?" the only emotion coloring her voice was a desperate need to know, not out of any kind of score-keeping, but just a sad, confused, need to know that she hadn't been responsible for someone becoming a vegetable or dying. "Please tell me he woke up, please."

Even in Nealite's anger, she would have been able to hear the sincere concern in Saiph's voice. No one could fake that sort of 'If You Tell Me He's Dead I Will Throw Up. Lots. And Cry.' tone. The sort of timbre that spoke volumes and gave the impression of guilt gnawing away. To be blunt, in her desperate need to know, Sailor Saiph had just opened the door to a potentially tremendous ********>

While lying might have been taboo for the sailor scout, Nealite had no qualms with deceiving others. And, as she picked up on the girl's desperation, she didn't hesitate for a second to take advantage of the situation.

"What, the high and mighty senshi care about the people they hurt? For a second there, darling, you actually had me believing you." She was choosing her words carefully as she approached the other girl, "You should have seen his father's face. He was an empty shell... and his mother. I bet you can't even begin to imagine how it must feel, knowing your son had bits of skull lodged in his brain. And you call me a killer. At least when I kill, I make it quick. I don't force parents to stand by and suffer as they watch their child dying."

Her smile was bitter, the memory of herself and Khalid standing beside Khaldun's bed side still painful to recollect; them waiting and silently hoping that he would one day wake up. "So no. You're not any ******** better than me, and you're fooling yourself otherwise for thinking so."

Nealite's words served as a blow to Sailor Saiph's gut. For a moment, she couldn't breathe, couldn't think. She knew by the sudden sense of cold that she must have gone pale, all the blood rushing from her skin and leaving a pasty, sickly yellow in place of it's normal healthy, golden sheen. She might not have cast the attack that killed him, but she'd contributed to his death. And bits of skull sticking into his brain and oh god.

A ragged sound between a sob and a gulp burst from Saiph as she sank, trembling to her knees. Head bowed and shoulders shaking, she felt the guilt swamp her. Even with the distance between them, Nealite would be able to hear Saiph sobbing and laying all sorts of hateful recriminations on herself.

"Would have let him run, would have let him get away. Should have held on, should have made her stop it..."

There was no escaping it, she had blood on her hands and she had indirectly contributed to the suffering of a kid's family. With an almost wild animal suddeness, Saiph threw her hand back, her face a mask of grief, and gave a wordless howl of pain that echoed eerily through the empty warehouse.

And with that loss of control and her own fear, she'd wordlessly called up Tail Thrash, feeling it straining against her last shred of control, eager to surge out and consume the flame-haired female.

She was smirking as she continued to walk towards the other woman, savoring the scene in front of her as she watched the senshi collapse. It served the little b***h right - Nealite had been distraught over losing Nova, she'd been frantic when she nearly lost Hematite. This little tramp deserved to think Hematite was dead, she deserved to suffer the guilty conscience of her actions.

The Captain paused in her walk, however, as the howling began. The noise was eerie, unsettling, and from the stance she was making, it looked as though the girl was about to attack. And, if memory served her well, this was the girl that had been responsible for not only putting Khaldun in a coma, but breaking his leg and ribs as well.

Slightly panicked at the thought of an oncoming attack with that much potential damage, she did the only thing she could think of, with her teleportation ability exhausted.

She turned and ran for cover.

Unfortunately for Nealite, Saiph's Tail Thrash was already summoned and heading in her direction. The powerful attack swayed from side to side, coming at her as a shark would its prey. Cobweb boots were too slow for the primordial senshi's attack and the blast hit the older woman directly in the back, sending her flying forward.

As she neared the ground, she instinctively tucked in her arms and pulled her head down. The blast was forceful and sent her crashing to the ground, but as her body began to roll across the concrete, the only damage taken was a sharp pain in her chest - one or two of her ribs were injured, but the remainder of her was intact. Beaten, but intact.

She lay on the ground for minutes, Saiph still standing where she'd been while summoning her attack. Neither woman said anything... and then Nealite slowly began to rise from the ground once more, her hand now clutching her ribcage.

"You... little.... b***h."

The senshi of the Primordial sank back to the ground, panting as her attack tore loose and sent the other woman flying. Nealite's words didn't seem to register. She simply stared dully ahead. And well, at last Nealite was moving. At least she didn't have a second body on her conscience.

Absently wiping a gloved hand against the dried blood on her cheek, she wondered why Nealite was still advancing. Saiph had every intention of letting her go, no more attacking tonight. No chasing. Just... turning a blind eye for the moment.

Briefly, she thought of Khalla's comforting words days ago and made a sour face. Right now, in her head, the 'Them or Us' attitude didn't fly. Kunzite's orders to kill without question didn't fly.

Right now, all Saiph wanted was to go home and hide under the blanket.
PostPosted: Wed Mar 17, 2010 12:15 pm

Despite the fact she was fairly certain one of her ribs had cracked, Saiph's attack proved to Nealite that it had indeed been Nerissa as the main culprit behind Hematite's wounds. The senshi's words echoed in her head as she stepped forward once more, her mirror firmly gripped in her hand.

"Would have let him run, would have let him get away. Should have held on, should have made her stop it..."

Sailor Saiph was not a threat. Sailor Saiph was nothing more than a confused child with a power she obviously struggled to harness. It was Nerissa that needed to be dealt with. And Nealite knew just how to get ahold of her.

"Hit me again, senshi."

Purple boots shuffled across the concrete, one gloved hand still clutching her chest. "I'm not leaving you alone - you're going to have to do a lot ******** better than that. Hit me."

Now that got a reaction. Saiph's head shot up, her eyes wide with surprise and no little anger. What the hell was this woman? Some kind of weird masochist? Look at the way she walked and clutched at her chest? There were broken or cracked ribs there. And she wanted to be attacked again?

"You're insane," she said in a flat, toneless voice. "No."

Sense came flooding back chasing some of the shock and sadness away. She'd never be able to forgive herself for helping to kill a boy. A boy who's parents had watched him suffer and waste away.

"You're insane," she repeated.
