 Bl'arza figured there was a reason He had never settled down. Being with Ekundu for so long was beginning to remind him of that very reason. He didn't like getting attached. It made him nervous; the feelings, the reliance. He hated the way it felt like she need him, because he knew he would let her down.
And for that reason, Bl'arza had wandered away from their temporary den for a walk to stretch his legs and his mind. He had to get things straight, and soon before he made a mistake.
His jaws stretched in a deep yawn and he shook out his light-hued mane. It was early morning and all the other day-walking animals were just beginning to wake, though he hadn't slept. His limbs moved sluggishly and his lids drooped just slightly, but his mind worked furiously as he headed for a nearby watering hole.

 Ah the watering hole! It had to be a great place to meet new faces, right? Of course it would be. After all everyone needed to drink, so eventually someone would come by that Ibala could talk to. For now she was slaking her own thirst, though she had to admit that her reflection was a bit distracting. Ibala couldn't help it that she found herself to be so pretty that she forgot what she was doing.
A frown crossed her maw as the ripples caused from her drinking spread across the water, causing her reflection to be less than perfect. Slowly though the water calmed and her reflection was restore. "Well that's much better!" She said cheerfully to her reflection as no one else was about yet.

Bl'arza's paws lazily flopped him through the damp earth nearest the water and he dipped his head to lap up the cool water and clear his head. It woke him up a little more, but not quite enough to go walking for much longer.
Suddenly a cheery voice made his head flip up to stare across the watering hole at a lovely purple leopardess. Habit made him smile and take in her appearance, before chuffing a greeting her way.
"Hello," he called across the water, letting his smile down to a cool smirk. His tail flicked and he sat up straight, waiting to see if she'd welcome his company. Talking to someone new always brightened his mood, and often left him walking away with new insights on his own life, something he dearly needed.
Not to mention he just wanted to let loose and stop being so nervous. He just wanted to be himself again; Caring, suave, and helpful.

Her eyes looked up from her reflection to see a lion on the other side of the water. Ah ha! So her plan did work, wait around a watering hole long enough and someone was bound to come by. She let a smile cross her maw. "Hello!" Ibala called across to him.
She took a moment to study his coloring. It was so interesting. A rainbow of colors on a black background. That made her giggle, though she wasn't sure exactly why. Something about the way it looked on him perhaps. "It's such a lovely day don't you think?"

Her reaction relaxed him and he found himself padding around the water to be nearer her. Couldn't have a pleasant conversation trying to battle the distance between them with raised voices, could they?
He chuckled and nodded. "It's very nice this morning. I get the feeling it's going to be rather hot later today." He gave an displeased frown for fraction of a second, he hated so much heat because it stuck to his coat like a leech, and then he bowed his head slightly. "I'm Bl'arza. It's nice to find some company so early in the morning."

Oh good he was friendly, she thought as he made his way over to her. It was so nice to run into friendly faces. "Oh yes, I do think it will be hot too. But luckily there's a good amount of shade to lie in." She said happily with a bit of a giggle. "Bl'arza, what a nice name. You have such an interesting coat." Another giggle came out of her as she looked down once more at his pelt. "I'm Ibala. Do you live around here?"
