 Ibala danced across the open savannah happy for some reason that she couldn't put her paw on. It was rare for Ibala to not be happy. Usually she was only unhappy when she was caught off guard and scared. But those moments were usually short and before long she was beaming with happiness once more. So far today was a great day.
Her paws carried her lightly towards - well she wasn't sure, the scent of many lions was in the air. Oh, there must be a pride up ahead. Ibala liked prides, they were usually full of interesting creatures. Though she didn't plan to stick in one spot for long she could at least indulge in her love of prides every now and then should she stumble upon one. Let's just hope this one is friendly, the last one was far from it. Tail flicked about happily as she continued forward wondering what kind of interesting lions she would meet today.

Kalenda was taking a very leisurely nap under the sun. She yawned and stretched, laying out languidly without regard for how 'royal' she was supposed to be. She never thought about that. Most of the time she was just naturally regal.
Except right now. Right now she was a bit 'common'. And comfortable. So she didn't really mind.
The white and purple Queen lifted her head when she heard someone coming toward her. Laying just beyond the forest, Kalenda was not unused to having random lions or leopards or other creatures wandering by the area. She spotted the leopard coming toward her.
She simply watched, not saying hello just yet.

It took a few moments for Ibala to realize that she was being watched. And when she did notice the lioness nearby she wasn't sure whether to bolt in fear and yell out a greeting. Ibala stopped her dancing and stood there for a moment torn. Then she noticed just how pretty the lionesses coat was. Oh my! She had to go talk to such a beautiful creature, she just had to!
Once again dancing forward she closed the gap between herself and the lioness a bit more. Smile on her maw she came to a stop not far from the other. "Hello there!" She called out cheerfully. "It's it a lovely day." Her smile grew and she tilted her head slightly regarding the lioness closely. "My you are pretty!"

Kalenda blinked as the leopard seemed to come to a decision. The lioness wasn't sure she wanted to talk to someone who spent their day dancing around, but she certainly wouldn't be rude and ignore her or try to flee.
So she let her approach, offering a thin smile.
"Hello," she greeted, blinking. She looked up at the sunny sky, "it's true. It is a lovely day..." She smiled a bit broader. She looked surprised by the abrupt compliment.
She loved compliments.
"Why thank you," she purred. "I like your spots."

Ibala lowered herself on her haunches and let out a content sigh. It was so nice to talk to someone, especially one as pretty as - Oh my she didn't know this lionesses name. That wouldn't do at all. "Oh! Where are my manner? My name is Ibala"
She let out a giggle. This lioness was so cute in a number of ways. "Why I like my spots too. You know my sister has spots like these, only hers are blue!" Oh she was doing it again, changing the subject before she finished what she had previously been talking about. "And what's your name?" She perked up a bit for a moment remembering that she was near a pride - at least she thought she was near a pride. "Oh! Are you part of this pride?"

The Queen of the Suka'fumo smiled, nodding slowly.
"It's a pleasure, Ibala. My name is Kalenda. Charmed," she nodded, smiling. She had not met someone quite as eager or happy before. At least not honestly so: a lot of people just faked it when the royals were around.
But Kalenda could see that this leopard had no idea who she was talking to. It made Kalenda smile.
"I am a part of this pride, yes. You could definitely say that," she laughed at that, "but that's not really important. Where are you from? And your blue spotted sister? Where is she?"

"Kalenda. Such a beautiful name." The leopardess smiled once more. She was really enjoying her conversation with this lion. At the mention of the lioness being part of the pride her smile grew. "Oh that is lovely. Is it a big pride? It must be a friendly pride, usually the mean ones would have chased me off by now. But you aren't chasing me off, so it must be a nice pride." Ibala was rambling again and she just couldn't stop herself.
"Well I live in the rogue lands. I wander a lot, always looking for friendly faces to meet. Like you!" Her head tilted to the side as she thought about where her sister was. "Well I'm not sure where she is. We usually meet up every now and then. You know she thinks I will get in trouble sometimes. Which is just silly, because I don't like trouble at all." She gave her head a shake to punctuate her point.

Kalenda considered the question. She thought about her home, and how it had changed so much from what it once was. It was certainly more than what it had once been, and yet not quite as much, either. She frowned thoughtfully.
"It's getting bigger," she decided to say, nodding at the idea, "but we're not mean, I don't think. I certainly hope that idiot 'king' doesn't make us like those other prides, anyway. Who knows what he'll do? He's only started his reign."
She sighed, not thinking how it might sound for her to be bad mouthing the king, considering this leopard did not know the lioness's relationship with the monarch.
Kalenda couldn't help but chuckle.
"You don't get into trouble? That's a shame. I think a little trouble can be fun, some times. It breaks up the monotony, don't you think? Or maybe not, if you don't like it at all. I can understand that, though. It's a weird thing to like."
