Quinn had surprised Kale when the boy not only tugged on his sleeve but also asked to be taken out to the beach. Now that the air was a bit it seemed like it was a good time as any to agree to it. Tek and Kay were off somewhere with Switch or so Kale assumed since he saw neither of the boys since the morning and it was just him and his rather toothy charge.

Either way an agreement was reached and the pair were now walking along the beach in what could be considered companionable silence. Kale couldn't help but feel that he served merely as a 'guard' against stupid questions that might be asked in regards as to where the parent was and why they weren't there and then would come the additional question about just why the toothsome boy was all by himself in the first place. Quinn was a loner, solitary and felt no need to please others and he just generally wanted to be left alone and untouched.

Sadly Quinn rarely ever got his wish.

Odd pupil-less eyes gazed across the salty water as he came to a pause. He gazed up at Kale, "May I walk alone for a bit?"

Kale shrugged a bit, "Sure, just don't wander too far."

Quinn nodded and continued on his walk as his Guardian watched with his hands in his pocket. Kale would trail a little afterward but for the most part he wouldn't intervene unless he really needed to and he hoped he wouldn't need to.

Levi was moving silently through the waves, enjoying the fact that there were so many of them. When he went closer to the surface of the water he got tossed around and it was a great deal of fun. It was a bit like the surfing that Roll enjoyed doing so much but in a more interesting fashion and minus the board... so it was more like the end part of surfing when a person fell of their board and got thrown around by the waves. So, in Leviathan's mind, the good part of surfing! He came to a pause as he reached the shore as he peeked out and saw someone rather interesting walking along the shore of his territory. He gave a bit of a grin, the end of his tail giving a little swish before he ducked under the water and waited...

As he'd done with Arlen when he'd first met the raptor child he was waiting for this gray toned child to get closer to the edge of the water. He was going to pounce him as he'd done with Arlen, to test him, as well as... well the guy was invading his territory and without even bringing an offering to the great dragon that lived here! All should know better then to do something as foolish as that he thought to himself with a toothy grin. His long coils wrapped up under him and bunched, allowing him to be ready for the moment that he would lunge...

Quinn had been walking, walking, and suddenly he felt eyes on him. He paused and gazed around himself it wasn't his Guardian who was still a bit away from him and keeping an eye on him but even just then when he gazed over at Kale the dark man was gazing at the waters with his arms crossed over his chest and looking thoughtful. Okay so it wasn't him he wandered a little further onward feeling more than a little paranoid, maybe it was nothing maybe he was just imagining it...

...His eyes caught sight of movement in the water and it even smelled different around here for reasons he couldn't quite comprehend. Something, someone spent a lot of time around this area of the beach and had marked it as its own territory.

"s**t," Quinn grunted as he attempted to back peddle his way out before whatever it was that had claimed the area was huge and had more teeth than him.

That the other boy was able to dodge just out of reach of his lung seemed to please Leviathan greatly, it meant that he was a worthy trespasser, someone worth crossing paths with. He smirked at Quinn showing many sharp teeth before pushing up on his coils, lifting himself up to appear bigger. He starred Quinn down, taking in his sharp teeth, his dark hair, pale skin, and strange eyes, "You don't look like any knight I have ever seen." He informed the other boy, arms crossing over his chest, head tilting slightly to one side.

He was... interesting, wasn't he? Perhaps like Arlen he was one that came here to serve, "Have you come to join in my great army? Soon enough we will be sweeping forth to destroy the do gooders and steal all the princesses for our own." He informed this new person, he looked the sort that would want to be a part of his dark army he thought, pleased.

He moved to keep his distance from the other boy with a bit of a sour expression. It was just a kid? A rather scaled and toothsome kid but still, he flashed his own teeth in a smile that couldn't be described as friendly or unfriendly either but it was the best way to show a prospective enemy one's teeth to let them know he wasn't afraid of them or to use his own weapons that he had on hand. His pupil-less eyes stared at the one before him a bit distrustfully before he shrugged, "If I was a knight I'd be hiding behind a bunch of armor like some puss," he said bluntly.

Army? What Army? Quint gazed about behind the other boy to see where he could possibly be hiding this army but saw nothing. Still it wasn't an ideal place to be where he didn't recognize the territory so obviously he needed to respect the main predator that apparently made their home here. "Army? I just see you."

He couldn't help but be blunt and honest, "You can...keep the princesses," for the moment he didn't have an interest in such beings. As of yet Quinn didn't say yes or no to the apparent 'invitation'.

Levi couldn't help but to chuckle and nodded in agreement, "Yes, Knights are a bunch of weaklings. I am glad to see that your not one of those as they are a pain in the backside." Not to mention that if one of them showed up now it would be a waste of time since he didn't even have a princess in his grasp at the moment.

His tail gave a little twitch as the guy question the greatness of his army, "My General is out training at the moment but he is quite formidable, he has blades on his feet and bigger jaws with more teeth then the two of us combined." He said, making General Arlen sound like quite the dangerous creature, which he really was if one looked him over.

If anything could have made Levi happier about the idea of taking this person on as another member of his army he couldn't think of it now, "Really? Heh, deal." All the princess were his, eh? There was something he could agree to, "So what would you want then? A title I am sure, you can't have General as its already taken but any other one is up for grabs still."

"And morons," he said simply. There was no straight good or evil for him and even if there was they needed each other to exist in a way so that everything could have a sort of balance or so the television shows, video games, and books proclaimed. Quinn was more inclined to believe the books than any other source. He stared at the other with a small nod of understanding and perhaps a bit of respect at least the being before him seemed to know how to run an army.

"All I'd want is to be left alone and a bit of territory of my own, that is if I agree to 'submit' to your wishes. I do things my own way," it was more of a warning and a chance for the being to decide whether or not he'd be a good addition to this 'army' of his. Quinn didn't mind one way or the other if he was in the army or not.

Quinn scratched at the bridge of his nose, "Titles are useless bullshit but I guess if I were given a choice...Captain."

If he was intimidated by this 'Arlen' individual it didn't show.

Levi couldn't help but to chuckle as this person referred to the hero types as morons, far to amusing and it made him like this person that much more. He gave a bit of a grin, "Sounds good to me." He told him, "Captain, then as for the territory of course, those that are loyal deserve territory of their own and more. Just tell me where it is and if anyone attempts to mess with what is yours and you need a hand I will be there to help you to eat them."

The sea serpent found himself liking this guy more and more as time passed, he was kind of funny... first saying that titles were useless then he claimed one for himself regardless, "My name is Leviathan, what about you? What is your name Captain?"

As much as a hypocrisy as it was Quint preferred to pick his own titles rather than letting himself being subjected to the whims of others. If he was going to play this little 'Army Game' with this individual he would do it on his own terms and not by the terms of this...Water Snake. He nodded a bit and gazed about the beach for a moment before he pointed at the far end of the beach many bits away from where this scaled boy kept his territory, "I want that little area. Doesn't have to be big," he said simply.

Quint stared at Leviathan before he said simply, "Quint."

There was no flowery 'pleased to meet you' or any last name given if he had one. It was just 'Quint', the name seemed as blunt as the boy himself appeared to be.

He moved from side to side, "What's my...er...job?"

Leviathan turned to look toward where he was pointing to before he gave a nod of his head, "Sounds good, I can make sure that the people stay out of your section of the beach when your not around to protect it yourself." That seemed fair enough, and that it was set away from Leviathan's own territory was a nice touch, it meant they didn't have to worry about what was theirs getting taken by their ally since that never made for good situations.

"Quint." He murmured, filing the name away for later use before he smiled. He was always pleased when he met up with worthwhile people, far better then weaklings and false princesses he thought to himself.

"Your job? Well... I suppose your job is similar to that of General Arlen, just to be prepared, strong, and ready for when the battle starts." He was completely sure that one day he would end up with a mob of angry people, knights included, showing up on his door steps to attempt to slay the evil dragon, "That's about it... and if you find any princesses worth noting if you would send me word."

Quint nodded in agreement to that, "Thanks," he said simply as he tucked his hands into the pockets of his pants and watched Leviathan quietly. He was more at ease now and was starting to get a hold of interacting with this particular individual though it still seemed more like some sort of silly war game they were playing of which Leviathan was the Game Master. It was fine but it didn't make it feel real in any way.

He tilted his head and nodded a bit, "Alright, I can do that. What would you consider worth noting in a princess? I mean I could just send you any girl..." Quint observed quietly waiting to see if there was something specific about this whole princess thing that he ought to know about. The only thing Quint knew about princesses was that they wore big poofy dresses, sang to animals and danced in meadows while wearing tiaras.

Leviathan seemed to think about it deeply before giving a half shrug, "You can just tell. Usually by their demeanor, the way that they dress, even their names can be a dead give away." He explained, making a bit of a face as he thought of some of the false princesses compared to some of the real, good ones he run across, "Its not to difficult to tell a real princess apart from a fake one, best way of course to tell is if they fall into the 'damsel in distress' mode when scared of if they fight back or think you kidnapping them is a game."

He always felt a headache come on when he thought about that blond girl he'd met called Roxy, his first run in with a False Princess and one who was in no way like the girls he wanted to steal, "If you know a girl named 'Roxy' princesses are basically her polar opposite." He said in a grouchy manner, seeming to be put off just thinking about the blond.

Quint thought about it for a long moment as Levi explained the differences and then he nodded, "Alright, I understand," he said simply. There was no need to ask anything further when it was that crystal clear. He shifted a bit in his stance before he gave a small chuckle at Levi's next set of words. Someone named Roxy? He doubted he'd remember any of that if at all. It seemed very unlikely that he'd meet up with someone like that at any point in his life or so he felt. "Got it," he said simply at least showing he ... sort of listened.

The Shark boy sighed a bit as he distantly heard his name being called by his guardian and then gazed at Levi, "I gotta go, just send a messenger or somethin' if you need me, right?"

He wouldn't mind seeing this being again. They were kind of interesting...
PostPosted: Mon Aug 09, 2010 5:04 pm

Leviathan gave a smile when the other boy seemed to understand, something that pleased him greatly, "Good, good." He said when the other said that he had gotten it. Excellent! It was always good to have help in the coming battles, especially those who were well equipped. This one was especially interesting since he'd been able to avoid his initial attack against him. It meant that he had sharp instincts which would make him useful in battle, this was something Levi could use when the time came.

At the sound of the shark boy's name being called Levi turned in that direction and found himself a touch annoyed. What a pain! He hated when people got in the way of important business! The end of his tail switched a bit, thumping against the ground, then he looked over to the other once more, "That sounds good, I will send word to you." He said, lifting a hand to wave as the other headed off before he turned to return to the water, back to hiding within it, ready to pounce on the next interesting creature to come within pouncing range.

Quint nodded and watched as Leviathan disappeared once more, pretty much, before he turned and trotted back to his Guardian with a bit of a sigh. That was a bit of an odd meeting but it wasn't too bad, things could possibly had been worse if they had started tussling like the intent seemed to be. Lots of biting and scales missing probably would have happened.

When questioned about who he was talking to Quint had simply shrugged and said, "Recruitment. Nothing to worry about."

Anything further he refused to go into depth about for it quite simply was no one's business as far as he was concerned. This could prove to be a rather interesting diversion for sure...
