 {Using a song everyone knows. >.>;}
"The more we get together, together, together," Cabriole sang... Or rather, attempted to sing as he trotted happily around the fields, not heading towards anywhere specific. Despite some of the words being rather off-key, the blissfully oblivious tone-deaf colt did not notice it as usual. Having been kept from his "handicap" from a young age, due to his family never having the heart to tell him, he never really learned to pick out his own off-tune singing except that once in a while occasion. As his father had encouraged his love for performing, Cabriole found himself practicing often just to get better. However, without much coaching and correcting, he might not realize it, but he had not improved much.
Born into a musical family where both parents had met due to music and whose siblings are musically-inclined as well, he did not think he was too different from the others. Sure, he tripped often but he was getting better, and he was sure his singing was constantly improving too.
"The more we get together, the happier we'll-" He continued his singing but suddenly stopped as he accidentally tripped, falling on his side. Blushing a deep red, he quickly picked himself up and looked around, hoping that nobody had saw his little 'accident'; that would be rather embarrassing to explain since he had tripped over his own legs.

The day was bright and joyous. Filled with the song of birds and critters skittering up and down the limbs of trees. The wind softly flowed through the air, increasing the symphony of sound. Rockstar stood in the sunlight, taking up the sun, eyes closed. He listened and swayed to the music he heard around him, tapping his socked hoof to the beat. In his head keyboards, drums and trumpets sounded. Creating a melody quite similar to one he had heard in a small festival event in a desert market place. The memories made him smile. He opened his eyes and began to do a little dance to the music blasting in his head, he hummed along happily. Loving music and all its wonder and emotion. Though suddenly it was caught as he heard a small THUMP behind him. He turned and looked in between a few neatly woven saplings to see a tan colt laying in the dirt. "You alright there?" He rushed over hoping no injuring had been caused.

Cabriole froze when he heard a voice; he started to pray that it was not addressing him, but soon realized that there was nobody else around for the voice to be addressing. Realizing that it must be pretty rude to ignore the stranger, the colt nodded, his head still bowed. Then, slowly, he looked up in the direction of the voice, still blushing a deep red, "Y-Yes, I am... Thank you..." It was obvious that the dark stallion did not see him fall, but must had heard him. Cabriole smiled a little at the thought; it was strangely comforting.
"Um... I've not seen you around before," He continued as he offered the other a warm smile, trying to change the topic, "I'm Cabriole Amachi, by the way, but please call me Cabriole!"

Rock chuckled as he stepped forward, ready to help the colt up. "nah I am not from around here. I live near the eastern mountains, but I decided to travel out here for awhile. Meet a few people, sing a few songs." He laughed again, already blabbering on, "I am not one to be able to stay in one place for all that long. I like to keep my legs moving." "Cabriole eh? Nice to meetcha'! My name is Rockstar, or Rock. What made you fall?"

"Wow, I've never been that far away, I think... Oh! You sing too? I love singing!" The colt's eyes lit up, feeling rather fascinated and curious at the new piece of information. The only singing and dancing Soquilis that he knew were all from his family; in fact, he had never met another who shared their love and appreciation for music outside of his family. He paused for a moment before giving a smile at hos introduction, "Its nice to meet you too Rockstar! Do you mind singing a few lines for me?"
At the question, Cabriole felt a slight blush creeping up his cheeks as he disguised a sigh with a yawn; well, that distraction didn't work! He shifted his hoofs before averting his glance from the stallion, "Ah, about that..." He paused, lowering his voice to a whisper, "I kinda... Tripped over my own hoofs..."

Rock couldn't help but laugh heartily, "Oh don't worry, I trip over my own feet too! I will get too into a song or a piece of music and, bam, i find myself on the ground." He smiled pleasantly and blew at the colt's forelock.
"i would love to sing you something! This song is called 'Alien'.
No need to be here no card to clock in and i can swear somebody's watchin' where i go and where ive been. Brother i can see moses and all the things he did for you Oh brother ive been hearing voices that im probably not supposed to. How will i walk steaddy if the ground should come alive And tell me how will i be ready for the world another time
Woah alien! You'll be just fine, Youve always been beautiful to me... Woah alien! Pay us no mind, We havent the light to hold to see... "

"Rea-really? You're not saying that to make me feel better?" Cabriole blinked, looking up at the stallion with a small smile, his blush still clearly visible under his pelt. His eyes then proceeded to widen as Rockstar started to sing, his smile widening with every note; unexpectedly, the stallion had a nice, comfortable voice and sounded almost as good as his parents. Almost.
"That's incredible!" The foal grinned, unable to control his excitement when Rockstar was done, "Can you teach me? Oh, please!"

Rockstar chuckled and winked, "Sure Cabri! Do you like to sing as well? Do you have any favorite songs?" Rock clicked his tongue happily, thinking about being able to teach and sing with someone again. He loved doing it, he found the best friends with that method!

"I love to sing! I like to think that I could sing before I could talk!" Cabriole exclaimed excitedly, a broad grin plastered onto his face as he was unable to contain his happiness. At the second question however, he grew silent for a moment before shaking his head, still looking rather pleased despite sounding a little embarrassed, "No, no I don't... I like all the songs that I know and had heard! Then again, I don't know many songs, because sometimes, I can't keep up with the rest of my family so I always practice the same ones..." He paused, blushing a little before continuing, sounding a little more enthusiastic, "But I'm ready to learn!"
He nodded, looking hopefully at Rockstar; how surprised would his family be to hear and see him when he had clearly improved from before? Well, with some outside help, but its the improvement that counts right? He then smiled, "What about you? Do you have a favorite song?"

"Thats alright!" He said to cheer up the sweet colt, "Practice makes perfect after all, right? Practicing something over is nothing to be ashamed of. Infact - you should take pride that you can re-do a song so many times and remember parts of it!" He flashed him a big, bright, white toothed smile. "I don't have one favorite song, though I do have a few preferred ones form different types of music. Like a favorite rock song, a favorite from pop and so on." he thought of one quickly. "Would you like to hear it?"

"You really think so?" Cabriole smiled, liking the stallion more and more; he seemed like a really optimistic sort of Soquili, someone the colt could really get along with. He then nodded, belatedly agreeing with Rockstar, "I guess I am pretty proud of myself - I try my best after all, and my father did tell me the same thing you did... That practice makes perfect!" He flashed another smile, feeling the happiest he had been since his mother's return to the family.
"Different types of music?" He blinked, looking rather confused as the stallion continued; he had learned a little about music, especially music made by humans, but was this considered as a different 'type'? As Rockstar spoke on, however, Cabriole was pretty sure that he was speaking about something else altogether. Curiosity bubbling as he thirsted for more knowledge on music in an attempt to improve himself, the colt asked, "What do you mean by different types of music?"
After a second's pause, he quickly realized that he had yet to answer the stallion's question and blushed, feeling like he had been rude towards his new friend, "O-oh! Of course!" He stuttered a little, feeling a little nervous; was it alright to ask so many questions?

"Well the differences I am talking about are the differences in style and lyrical meaning. Its called 'genres'. There are literally tons! Alternative, blues, rock, heavy metal, classical, jazz, punk, lullabies, country, instrumental, choir, electronic, reggae and world music. There are so many, I doubt even i know them all!" He laughed as he tried to think of a song from each which he had mentioned.
"You can hear the difference too! Here, this is an Alternative Rock song called 'Lover's in Japan'.
Lovers, keep on the road you're on Runners, until the race is run Soldiers, you've got to soldier on Sometimes even right is wrong
They are turning my head out To see what I'm all about Keeping my head down To see what it feels like now But I have no doubt One day, we are gonna get out
Tonight maybe we're gonna run Dreaming of the Osaka sun Ohh ohh... Dreaming of when the morning comes
They are turning my head out To see what I'm all about Keeping my head down To see what it feels like now But I have no doubt One day the sun will come out "
he cleared his throat, happy with how he had sung it, "And this is a reggae song called 'One Love.
'One Love! One Heart! Let's get together and feel all right. Hear the children cryin'; Hear the children cryin', Sayin': give thanks and praise to the Lord and I will feel all right; Sayin': let's get together and feel all right. Wo wo-wo wo-wo!
Let them all pass all their dirty remarks; There is one question I'd really love to ask: Is there a place for the hopeless sinner, Who has hurt all mankind just to save his own beliefs?
One Love! What about the one heart? One Heart! What about - ? Let's get together and feel all right As it was in the beginning;
So shall it be in the end, All right! Give thanks and praise to the Lord and I will feel all right; Let's get together and feel all right. One more thing!
Let's get together to fight this Holy Armagiddyon, So when the Man comes there will be no, no doom. Have pity on those whose chances grows t'inner; There ain't no hiding place from the Father of Creation.
Sayin': One Love! What about the One Heart? What about the - ? Let's get together and feel all right. I'm pleadin' to mankind!; Oh, Lord! Wo-ooh!
Give thanks and praise to the Lord and I will feel all right; Let's get together and feel all right. Give thanks and praise to the Lord and I will feel all right; Let's get together and feel all right. "
Rockstar smiled when he finished, "See? You can really tell with the way its sung and the way the lyrics are written. I am not sure who made up different genres, but i like having a sort of barrier between songs." He laughed, "Though I don't like Reggae too much..."

Cabriole allowed a soft 'wow' to escape his lips as he stared at the singing stallion with rather awestruck eyes; he had a nice voice and seem to have well control over his pitch and tone... Furthermore, he seems to know so much about music! It seems like he was learning something new from Rockstar with every passing minute - for example, Cabriole knew that there are many different types of music, but never knew that each different type have a name of its own.
"It sounds different from the other song you sung!" The colt nodded; he might be tone deaf, but he was able to pick up the different beat and rhythm of the two songs. It was something he never really had that much difficulty in - the difficulty was in singing... Although he does not know that.
He paused, blinking at the stallion's comment; he had always thought that it was good to appreciate all kinds of music... He had never came across something he disliked after all! However, here, a stallion he was looking up to as a singer was saying that there is a type - or genre - of music that he 'don't like that much'? Cabriole frowned a little, but it was obviously out of curiosity rather than confusion, "What is this... R-Re-Reggae? Well, um... What is it? How does it sound like?"

Rockstar smiled at the question, "Reggae is the style of music in which the second song was written. its more free and peaceful. Most of the lyrics talk about world peace, unity, and happy things! I think it comes from some tropical island that starts with a J...thought i am not sure." He pondered over it for a moment and then shrugged when he couldn't recall a name. "Its not the message I don't like, its a great one! Just something about the way its sung and the way the lyrics are written just...doesn't fit with me." He shook his head, "I am not even sure if I have a real reason for not being fond of it. Just not my style I suppose." He smiled at the colt and flicked his mane out of his eyes. "So did you like it little bud? The Reggae?"

{Mind finally decided on a font color for him! xD}
"Interesting! Someone once taught me that different places will have their own type or style of music, influenced by their lifestyle and customs," He commented with a smile, recalling what his herd's protector had told him during one of his lessons. Trying to take in the information that Rockstar had given to him and linking it to what he already knew, Cabriole continued thoughtfully, "Maybe this R-Re-Reggae music is just a result of those living there? Maybe they are a peaceful, united people! In fact, that sounds like a rather lovely place..." The colt replied, his voice fading away into a soft, happy sigh.
His gaze was fixed on something faraway as his mind wandered off. At the sound of the stallion's voice, however, he found himself jotted back into reality. He frowned slightly at the question, before shaking his head, "Well, its not bad... I don't exactly like it that much, but I don't dislike it either..."
