A couple years ago I saw a documentary on Antisemitism.

There was this one part that sticks with me in particular, the part where the voice behind the camera adresses this little toddler named Basmallah, this cute little thing no more than three years old.
He asks her what she thinks about the Jews, and her tiny little voice says that she hates the Jews. When asked why, she says "Because they are cows and pigs."
Oh Basmallah, you stab me in the heart!

Oh, and also I was hurt by this really, reallly, really hot girl in this pink headscarf who was so cute until she started blaming the Jews for 9/11("And the Jews did not go to work that day! None.. None of the Jews went to work [at the Twin Towers] that day!").
That's bullsh*t, by the way. The Jews did go to work that day. 10% of the people killed in 9/11 were Jews.

But mostly it's Basmallah that gets me. Not yet four years old and already spreading the hate.

Anti-Semitism comes in many forms.
Some very prejudice white-Southern families raise their kids to treat people of color and Jews different from the rest of society.

I think it's all a bunch of bullshit.
It is very sad to see kids being brainwashed, and in America at least..It's legal! WTF?! confused

It just hurts me in the heart when I remember that sweet little girl saying that.

I definitly agree that it is brainwashing... How can a little girl come up with the idea of hating a certain race/religious people? But how can people influence other like that? It's just wrong...

No, I mean, I realize that she's only parroting what her parents have taught her is fact.
But it still hurts.

Gotta love them parents.

Seriously though, that's ******** up.
I've met people who were raised in this Bible belt to believe that Atheists = Satanists (Praise Satan) and are evil. I have actually MET people like that.
It was a convo that pretty much went
"You antichrists are causing death by your belief that dinosaurs lost their legs to become snakes and are the reason the world is dieing."

It's...it's pretty sad.

I know. Just like the stereotypes and stuff with witches. I'm still uncormfortable saying I consider myself a witch in public.

Yeah. It just hurts seeing a baby who doesn't know what she's talking about and never will. She never had a chance to.

How would you feel if a three-year-old said that they hated witches and that all witches were all evil and bad? Nevermind, bad example; kids watch a lot of those fairy tales with the princesses and the wicked witches and... that's something totally different they'd be talking about. Bad example.

No, it's not. That's pretty much what I was saying. But there aren't any movies like that. It's just that people need to learn for themselves and some never will because of their parents. I like to keep an open mind, but others are so set in their ways that they would die if their child was gay, aetheist, et cetera

Whenever I see little kids preaching the hate I always think about the Boy In The Stripped Pajamas. The little boy who made a friend with the little boy on the other side of the Holocaust fence.

D: That's always really sad.
Of course, you'd get a similar reaction if you interviewed many Christian kiddies in parts of America on Muslims. Even today. Even in relatively educated, tolerant families.
Brainwashing comes in many forms.

That movie was one of the saddest films I had ever saw.
I've seen pretty much all movies on the Holocaust, and that one was....the ending was tragic.

That twist had not occurred to me.
But yes, I suppose you would get that, wouldn't you?

But I'm going to put myself out there and say that most Jewish kids wouldn't go there.

I don't think you would with Christian kids in America, just like I don't think you would with Muslim kids, or Jewish kids in America. Sure you would have some but I think you'd see it more in parts of the world where that hatred is really really alive and kicking.

I only say Christians because I'm thinking specifically of kids who've had relatives leave to fight in the war and families with a history of army service tend to be Christian. At least it seems that way to me.
I think that no matter how hard that kid's parents try to distinguish the difference between terrorists and Muslims or to preach tolerance, if they don't themselves believe it and let things slip then the kid will pick up on that.
And in those cases I wouldn't doubt that you'd get a common answer of "What do you think of Muslims?" "I hate them." "Why?" "Because they hate America/Because they hate freedom/Because they killed my brother."
And even kids who don't have relatives in the war, American kids are being told that Muslim=terrorists and therefore hate us and want to take away our freedoms. If not by their parents then by tv, school, their friends, etc.
