Fitzroy moved easily and happily through the library, one of his favorite places to be. He navigated the Dewey Decimal System like a nerdy Magellan, expertly picking out the books he needed to read for his English class, the reference recommended to him by his History teacher, a few anatomy books he needed for reference he swore, and an intimidating stack of comic books. Not that he would be checking all of these out, of course; for one, he already almost had the limit checked out; for two, it would be waaaay too much to carry home, even for him; and for three, his dad wasn't coming to pick him up for a while still, so he could afford to do a little reading.

At his little chair-table combination, he divided his selections into 'needed' and 'read-now' and, smiling and taking a bite of a tissue box he had found on the street, flicked open a Fantastic Four comic, quickly delving into the story. He may have grown, but there were still a few things that he wouldn't relinquish to childhood just yet.

It was his first time in a library or even a place with so many books for that matter. Vali looked around this large building with wonder. He loved to see so many books and people enjoying them. He was still learning to read but he was getting pretty good at it. His guardian had told him to go on and explore wail she would wait for him to find some books and meet up with her at the front.

It was not too long before the awe faded a bit and his curiosity took over. He laughed loudly and started down one of the isles. He did not even know where to begin looking for books he might want to look at. There were so many and he did not know which ones had pictures or which ones did not.

As he ran down the isles he saw the children's section but he thought that if he could find himself an adult book Dooma would be more impressed so he turned away from the children's section and continued down the isles. He did not know where he was going or what to look for but soon enough his young mind was distracted from the books by a large pair of green ear's. To his joy it was another spawn sitting in a little table with two large stacks of books. Maybe this spawn could help him out.

With that thought in mind Vali made his way over to the other spawn and when he was close enough he said rather loudly, "'Xcuse me what are you reading?"

Fitzroy was reading the comic like normal people watch movies, the tissue box being the substitute for popcorn, and so it took him a second to realize he was being addressed. Once he did, however, he smiled happily and held up the comic book cover for the other boy to see. "Oh, hi. Sorry. It's, uh, Fanstastic Four. 'S a comic book about these four astronauts who get superpowers." He smiled a little geekily at the other, trying not to sound too much like a dork. "It's my favorite."

It was only after that that Fitzroy noticed the silvery color of the boy's skin, and after a moment's inspection, gasped in delight and leaned closer. "Wow, is your skin made of metal?" A quick tap with his finger confirmed it, and he laughed, impressed. "Holy crap, that's awesome! Oh, dude, I'm so jealous! Oh, wow, sorry, didn't even introduce myself: I'm Fitzroy," he said happily, sticking out his hand, "And this is Pac-man. Nice to meet you. What's your name?" Nothing put Fitzroy in a friendly mood like having someone ask him about comic books.

Vali tilted his head as he looked at the comic. It was really cool. He had never seen a comic book and the fact that there were such things as books where the drawing were the main part and they were for older people was so awesome to the young spawn. "Oh Astronauts are the people that travel into space right? I didn't know girls could be astronauts." he said and then laughed.

As the other tapped his skin he smiled, "Yes I am metal...all of me is metal." He gave a bit smile to show his sharp metalic teeth. "See!" He laughed softly then looked a bit worried, "Your jealous? You think it is awesome? No one has thought I was awesome before." he said softly then he took the other's hand firmly. "My name is Vali! It is a pleasure to meet you...um your hand's name is pac-man?" he asked not having seen the large mouth on Fitzroy's stomach. "Why did you name your hand?"

Fitzroy smiled and nodded, happy to share his knowledge with anyone that asked. There should have been no doubt in anyone's mind that Fitzroy had already entertained the idea of being an astronaut (partially for the sole sake of somehow gaining superpowers) until he learned that they had specific physical requirements and all of that nonsense. "Yup, they're space explorers. The government sends them up there to see what's up, since we don't really know anything about it. 'Cept that it's black and cold," he added with a two-mouthed grin.

"Oh yeah, it's totally awesome. I promise," he assured the metallic kid, nodded emphatically. Why he was suddenly the authority on the awesomeness of things was a mystery, but it didn't bother the Gluttony spawn much. He shook Vali's hand enthusiastically, laughing a little at the name confusion. A small blush crossed his face as Pac-man gnashed in mild irritation, and he shook his head.

"No, sorry, m-my bad. That's just a hand. THIS," he said, gesturing towards his stomach with a flourish that made the sentient mouth feel important, "is Pac-man. He's my tummy-mouth. He'll want to nibble on your fingers, but he won't bite hard, I promise." True enough, Pac-man was already gnashing towards Vali, tongue reached for any part of the metallic boy.

Vali blushed a bit under his hick metal hair. He had never been called awesome. It was great not to be thought off as odd or scary. He smiled and enjoyed the sound of being awesome.

As Fitzroy shook his hand so enthusiastically Vali tried to mimic he enthusiasm but shaking just as much. As his mistake was corrected the silver colored spawn looked down at the other's stomach and he gasped. "Oh wow! I...I have never seen that before!" seeing the fangs and size of the mouth on Fitzroy's tummy was a bit unnerving however Vali could not complain about the sharp teeth, having a full mouth of sharp pointed teeth. "Does it hurt?"

Watching as the mouth tried to get at him Vali ducked down to get a closer look. "You sure he does not bite? Can he talk?" He asked as he slowly held out his fingers for the giant mouth to nibble on. Though he had to admit it was a bit scary to do at first. "If you don't bite and you like to nibble something you can nibble my tail after your done with my fingers." he said softly trying to be brave and friendly.

It was actually starting to be really cool, the whole giant mouth on the belly thing. "Are you a superhero Fitzroy? Having a tummy like that is really cool! i bet he eats a lot!"

Fitzroy chuckled good-naturedly at Vali's surprise, having gotten kind of used to it. He shook his head as he laughed, patting the metal spawn on the head. "No, doesn't hurt at all. It doesn't even feel weird to me. I think not having him around would feel more out-of-place," he added with a smile. He'd never actually considered things like that before, like how having moving fangs inside of you should probably hurt.

"Yup, I'm absitively-posolutely sure that he's not going to bite you. I've trained him well," he said with a proud nod as Pac-man, feeling very important indeed, made sure to nibble his gentlest on Vali's nummy fingers. "And no, he can't talk; no vocal chords," he said with a gesture towards his throat. "He can growl, though, like when your tummy rumbles. Mostly he just smiles, growls, frowns, or gnashes." Fitzroy looked fondly down on Pac-man, like an owner would a prize bulldog.

When Vali asked if he was a superhero, Fitzroy looked up in delighted surprise, so quick that his glasses almost fell off his face. A laugh fell awkwardly out of his mouth, and he regretted that he had to shake his head. "N-No, sorry. I'm just your average everyday demon-angel hybrid," he said with a slight hint of sarcasm, but not enough to sound mean.

"Though, I guess we could all be superheros in our own right, huh? Me with Pac-man and you with your kick-a** metal skin,." He grinned affectionately, unable to resist examining the fascinating material. "How does that work, by the way? Do you stick to the fridge and short out computers and stuff, or are you just shiny?" Much like Vali had never seen a tummy-mouth before, Fitzroy had never seen skin like his. It was pretty freakin' cool, in his opinion.

Vali's smile got almost as big as Pac-man's as the stomach mouth started to nibbled on his fingers. It felt so funny and tickled his fingers. "I hope my skin does not hurt his teeth. He is really something special. It is a pitty he can not talk...but he can think on his own?" Vali asked. This had to be the most interesting thing he had ever seen in a spawn. He could not help but be completely fascinated by this really nice spawn and his extra mouth.

Vali looked up at Fitzroy, his mouth in a thoughtful expression. "Oh yes I agree that most spawn have to be superheroes. I mean angels and demons are things of ledges right? And we are part of them. So...well maybe we are..um...demi superheroes!" He said a bit loudly and gave a clap of his hands until Fitzroy asked about his skin.

"Kick a**? Is that good?" He asked his head slightly tilting to the side and he held out his hand, "It's okay to touch me. Please feel free. I was born like this. Um I did get magnetized once. This started to fly at me and stick. It tickled a lot but when I shorted out a lamp and a desk almost hit me Dooma kinda shocked me and un-magnetized me. " When Fitzroy asked about computers again Vali's mouth looked thoughtful, "I have never tried working with a computer...I am shiny and all of me is metal..." he leaned forward. "Even my hair...It does not move much at all...and we have not found out how to cut it. "Dooma wonders if my insides are metal too!" He gave a big shark like grin to the other spawn. No one had ever been so interested in him. It kind of felt good to have someone excited to meet him.

It quickly became clear to Fitzroy that Vali had become Pac-man's new best friend. The tummy-mouth had never gotten such prolonged attention before, and he clearly enjoyed it. He nibbled most enthusiastically as Fitzroy chuckled and shook his head. "Naw, he'll be fine. Him and me have the same teeth, which are, like, super-strong." He pulled his cheek aside to demonstrate, then smiled and shrugged one shoulder. "Yeah, kind of. He really reminds me of a dog more than anything else. As for talking, he'd probably just ask for food all night and day." He chuckled as he poked Pac-man, much to the mouth's escalating glee.

Fitzroy smiled as Vali agreed with him; he could think of many kids at his school who would just call him weird for suggesting such at hing. If they didn't think him weird already. "Yeah, that would make sense, And we've been sent to help save all of the sad, powerless little humans! ...Except that we were made in labs," he ended lamely, an embarrassed blush on his face.

"Oh yeah, kickass is good," he replied with a laugh, clapping a hand on Vali's shoulder experimentally. He quickly found the smooth, unnatural texture fascinating, and continued poking and rubbed the shoulder as the conversation continued. "Wow, I was only kidding when I asked, but that sounds awful. I'd be scared out of my pants if stuff just came flying at me." Fitzroy nodded, examining the metallic hair himself. "Yeah, that makes sense. Maybe if you use a blowtorch or something," he suggested with a smile in his voice. He flashed his own sharky grin back at Vali's, amused and intrigued by the suggestion. "Probably! How would someone find out, though? Surgery, or something like that, likely," he mused. Vali was without a doubt the most interesting person he'd met so far.

Vali looked back down to look at Pac Man as Fitzroy said he was more like a dog. He could not help but laugh then feel even more a need to be friends with Pac Man. He really liked this smart spawn and his pet stomach. "I will try to bring something tasty for Pac Man when ever we meet again Fitzroy." he smiled brightly.

When the green freckled male spoke a bit more sadly he stood up and shook his head, "That just proves we are special. We are heros if we are not born normally right? A human could not handle being our real parents so we had to be made in a lab." his tail sway a bit happy at the idea. He hoped that would cheer Fitzroy up a bit. He nods, "Yes we are to save sad and powerless people. Oh and sad spawn too. We have to be willing to help and save each other right?"

When the older spawn clapped his shoulder there would be a tint as if he had really hit metal. The fact that Fitzroy continued to pet his shoulder did not seem to bother Vali at all. In fact the metallic spawn had to admitt it made him feel rather happy that someone other than Dooma was willing to touch him like that. He really liked this new spawn, and could not help but hope they could be friends.

"Oh it was fun at first but then it did start to get scary. the springs in the bed started to straighten out." his tail swayed as a green freckled hand touching his smooth thin metal hair that was soft but still almost did not move at all. "Oh do you think a blowtorch with work? Wait what is a blowtorch?" He nods, "Well surgery could work...maybe I will get a tummy like Pac Man if I have surgery." He laughed softly and gave the side of Fitzroy's belly a pat. "I am sure there is a way to find out. I mean I can feel things that touch me and I can get hot and cold....but maybe I can try to melt my hair or something. Though I like longer hair I thin...I like your hair too Fitzroy. I think your the smartest and coolest person I know!" he gave a nod, "And Pac Man is the friendly coolest belly I know!"

Pac-man could barely contain his excitement at the mention of food, and gnashed with joy as Fitzroy chuckled, putting one hand on the mouth to keep it from accidentally biting Vali in its enthusiasm. "Oh, he'll like that. Just watch, he's not going to give me any rest until that happens."

The spawn laughed harder when Vali backed up his idea, playfully smacking himself in the head with his hand. "Oh, of course. How could I forget something like that?" He nodded decisively in response to Vali's question, greatly amused by this conversation. "Absolutely. What kind of heroes would we be if we didn't even save each other?"

It took a while for Fitzroy to grow used to the odd texture of Vali's skin, and it was only after that that he realized that he would being kind of weird, rubbing him and whatnot. He drew his hand back with an apologetic smile as he tried to think of an answer to his question. "Um... A blowtorch is this little jet of super-hot fire that people use to cut metal. Except," he added with an awkward laugh, "if you can feel heat and stuff, that's not going to be comfortable." A wide toothy grin spread across the spawn's face at the compliments, and he fidgeted with his hair in good-natured embarrassment. "Aw, thanks, Vali. You're sweet. I think you're pretty cool, too!" Pac-man nommed his thanks onto Vali's fingers, having no needs for words.
PostPosted: Tue Jun 01, 2010 4:28 pm

Vali gave his hands a clap as his friend agreed with him. "We would not be good heroes if we don't help each other that if so sure." He wondered what powers each of them might have. It would make sense that apart from there looks they should each have powers. Maybe Vali could stop bullets and Pac-man and Fitzroy could eat anything!

He grinned and then looks thoughtful. "Well yes it might feel odd...but maybe I wont feel it other than heat. Maybe we should try it. If it hurts we can stop." He giggled and wriggled his fingers for Pac-man. He had met some very nice spawn and had at least one best friend but no one was like This spawn. Fitzroy was the coolest person ever. To Vali This gluttony spawn was like a rock star or even a super hero for real. To keep from simply staring he smiled, "So apart from this one comic do you know any other good things I should read? You seem to know lots about reading stuff."

Fitzroy smiled and nodded enthusiastically, clapping his hands as he agreed with his new friend. "Oh, no way. Unbless we were to be like the superheroes in that one video game where the two teams fight against each other! Which, honestly, would be kind of cool," he admitted, rubbing his chin thoughtfully and grinning.

Fitzroy laughed again at Vali's comment, so loud that a passing woman frowned at him. He shook his head, patting his friend's metallic shoulder. "Yeah, but blowtorches can get really, really hot. Lie, I think it actually melts normal flesh." He giggled once again, then shrugged. "I don't know, if you don't feel pain, it could probably work."

Given that no one ever asked him about his comics before, Fitzroy was surprised by the other's question, and blushed and stammered before he answered. "Uh, uh, y-yeah... Uh, these ones, the Fantastic Four, they're my favorite, but there's the Hulk and the Flash and, y'know, Superman, the classic... Hm, you seem like a Spiderman guy to me... Spiderman or Batman." FItzroy continued to mumble to himself as he rummaged through his pile of comics, soon drawing out two books. As he spoke, he help up the respective comic.

"Here you go, Vali! Try these! Spiderman's a reporter who got bit by a radioactive spider and now is more or less a ninja, and Batman's a millionaire who's a vigilante and has a lot of cool gadgets. Spiderman's a more interesting hero in my opinion, but Batman has MUCH cooler villains." He practically forced them into Vali's hands with a grin. "Here, you can take them!"
PostPosted: Thu Jul 08, 2010 2:38 am

Vali nods, "Oh well we could fight from time to time just for the fun of it I think. You know test our skills." He giggled and turned to see the woman Fitzroy had been looking at. He grinned brightly at her then turned back to his friend.

Seeing how the other had started to talk about the comics again he let the blowtorch idea go for now. But he would keep it in mind. Maybe he would test and see if he could feel pain later on. "Spiderman and Batman huh?" he looked a bit thoughtful as he watched Fitzroy turn and rummage threw the books. "Oh are radioactive spiders common? Maybe we could try to get bit by one?" he took the comics and smiled looking at them. "Oh Batman sounds cool. He spends his money on saving people. If I get rich I want to do that!" he nodded and then looked up, "Really I can take them? But weren't you going to read them?" He looked back down at the comics and his tail starts to sway a bit in happiness.

Fitzroy laughed between his teeth at Vali's question, jamming his fist into his mouth to keep from laughing too loud. He didn't want to get shushed again. He shook his head as he chuckled, continuously amused by the other spawn. "Haha, no, I don't think that they're real. And besides, even if they were real, we'd probably get super-sick, not spider powers." He smiled as his new friend examined the comics, nodding in agreement to his statement. "Yeah, that's what's cool about him. And-And, this is really cool, he never kills anyone. It's, like, his code. It's super-awesome."

Fitzroy laughed again when Vali asked if he could really have them, nodding and making a dismissive gesture with his hand. "Well, sure! I'm all about the Fantastic Four and Iron Man, anyway, and I can't check out any more books, so why not give them to you?" He clapped his hand onto Vali's shoulder. "As long as you bring them back within three weeks, sure you can have 'em, pal!"
