Who: Thanatos, Domevlo, Genevieve , Basil
When: Late Evening, around 11:00pm
Where: Durem Jazz House
Weather: Cool night and clear skies!

The smooth tunes of jazz, funk, rock and ska could be heard as far as the main streets of Durem as the local Durem Jazz House opened its doors. A line followed the streets around the corner, a normal event for the jazz house, often packed at all four corners this night was even more special, with an in house band and plenty of open mic and poetry to be had.

Thanatos smiled to himself -- dressed in a zoot suit complete with hat -- as he passed the line filling up outside. Each person who gawked his way only spent a moments glance before they fell on the floating torso dressed in a half tuxedo complete with a slicked back hair style. He paid the line no heed giving Domelvo a playful bump with his elbow to the frei's ribs. "You holdin' up okay?"

Domo gave a slight nod though his attention was mildly on his guardian. The group lined up was what caught his attention most as they stared at him, he stared back mostly at their sparkling clothing, and strange dress. He wondered about the women folk and their chests spilling out from fancy dresses and designer tops. Wouldn't they catch cold? But then he wondered what about himself had all those women and men gawking his way. He was used to the stares so much so that he didn't even blink once when a woman reached out to pull at the scarf which replaced his usual mask. Wrapped around him with a careful luxury (it was one of Xan's favorite accessories mind you) but maybe that was what had everyone staring... the mysterious Reavan was something new for tonight's events,"They look." He whispered hoarsely.

Xan chuckled softly giving Domo his best smile. "As they should. You're quite handsome tonight, Domevlo. I'll be playing all night so I hope you don't mind the slight change in attire." He didn't want the frei to be uncomfortable but Gunnar was out of town and with no one home to watch his charge it was best to take Domo with him to work. Even so it wasn't much like work, more like play... as Domevlo would soon learn.

They bypassed the line in silence, Xan speaking to the bouncer at the entrance briefly before the man let him inside. The smooth sounds of jazz that greeted the cowboy's ears put a broader smile to his face. A smile Domo was learning to like more and more. The cow-thing never smiled so much at home, maybe he liked it better at this place. "Why smile so much?"

"Because, Domo, this is heaven!" The cowboy interjected and easily ushered them through the crowd toward the back stage. He wouldn't be on for a while but it was best to announce his arrival then he would mingle with the crowd and introduce Domelvo to new things.

After the lizard fiasco only a short while ago and the falling out with Mickey, Genevieve was feeling depressed... And that was putting it mildly. With Basil always lurking, always creeping, always hiding, in his silence he was a constant reminder of the camaraderie that used to be. Of that ageless and novel friendship that was both feckless and invigorating, now only an ashen void of what it once was... She needed to have a little life breathed into her. And Basil too. A spark, an all-consuming dip into the world beyond that could uplift her from the sorry state of things. The answer was obvious. They needed a night out. After all, last they gone on a family outing was the winter festival, which was arguably a generous time ago. While she personally wasn't much of a dancer, nor entirely educated in all the various etiquettes of club-life, jazz bars more often than not possessed the most intelligent of bartenders, and after a shot or two, she found herself to be a lot more interesting than originally perceived.

With a modest neckline and a sash to help veil the better bits, an elegant Genevieve had already pinpointed a lovely little club nestled in the better part of Durem that teetered vigorously between boho and The Ritz. She was sensual and warm and ready for some icy smooth tunes and perhaps a little more. Dammit she had a little extra money to spend and as far as she was concerned it was already spent. She looked to her date for the night. If there were any advantages to having Basil as opposed to an actual child, the most obvious would be that his face betrayed his age. Hence, sliding a blazer across his strong shoulders (albeit over his trademark hoodie as well in a rather mis-matched ensemble) and smoothing down the wilder parts of his hair made sweeping him into a club a breeze, without even so much as a stamp on the hand!

With the moon on the water and the lights down low, Basil was both curious and restless to be out of the house and away from his loft. A welcome improvement from his equally sour mood from days prior... His eyes could not stop moving, his hands would not stop fidgeting! Clinging to Genevieve's arm (as she was well prepared for his tendency to meander off into an open crowd), he breathed in the salty, recycled air with a hapless smirk. He was as weightless as he was titillated when Genevieve began to pull him towards their seats, disappointed to have to leave the heart of all the excitement.

Thanatos enjoyed the atmosphere of the jazz club almost as much as he enjoyed watching his charge look around with eyes as curious as a child on Christmas day. He chuckled a few times watching the frei move through the crowd with an occasional, meek, "'Cuse me." This was obviously out of his element but perhaps it would take some getting used to. For now there were two sets going on before Xan would be called to the stage, he preferred it this way, grab a few drinks, a light conversation with his soon-to-be audience and then hit the stage with a fresh air.

Domevlo's eyes were captivated by all the different lights and sounds, the crowd and the music that was being played in the background as the announcer began introducing the first act. "We can grab a seat near the back it'll be less crowded..." Xan offered hoping to quail any of Domo's discomfort. Shaking his head the frei was more than willing to stick it out, he didn't mind the crowd so long as they were not rude. The closer to the action the better. "We get close!" He beamed tugging on the suited cowboy. "Closer!"

Chuckling at Domo's excitement he complied and moved in closer just as the sight of something familiar caught the cowboy's eye. A hooded gentleman but with a floating body? Mint eyes squinted trying desperately not to trip while getting a better look and as he did noticed the obvious floating torso he couldn't make out the woman who the frei was clinging to. "Hold off for a minute, kiddo." Xan shrugged from the frei's grip stepping past the throngs of people to note the woman's face... "Cookie?" He breathed moving in closer while a questioning Domo followed curiously behind. "Cookie is that you?" He quickly inquired once they were within earshot his smile brightening more as he recognized Genevieve's features from that time before.

Genevieve was rather satisfied with her choice in seating. Far enough back that she could hear herself have a conversation with her company, but just close enough to catch the action as it unfurled. She couldn't help but precociously tap one the lights overhanging the table. The sort with a mile-long cable extending from the ceiling that allowed the actual bulb and shade to hang tastefully like a star in the night sky, illuminating the entirety of the table with a modest glow. She looked to Basil, who for the most part seemed wordlessly compliant, fumbling with the edge of the tablecloth and staring aimlessly whilst his right hand remained clasped to Genie's forearm as a security measure. He swayed somewhat in his seat, consumed by the vibrations that poured from the speakers and the screech of the microphone. He was having a good time, and it was all she could ask for.

Though, suddenly... Somebody was calling out for cookies. Rather unbecoming...

While in such dim yet sumptuous lighting, she too had to scrutinize the familiar voice from her seat through squinted eyes before her face glowed with realization as a figure emerged from the crop of uptowners. A squeak of a chuckle exited from her throat as a preamble to her delighted acknowledgment, "Well look at that! Hell of a small world!" She vacated her seat to greet him with a practiced feminine grace, pushing her seat in her absence of it and tucking a lock of hair beneath her ear in such a way that it did not distract from her brassy demeanor, but rather, accented it with a latent finesse appropriate to the environment. It gave her confidence. It gave her a taste of the unforeseeable. Basil's grip unexpectedly dropped from her arm. She had no qualms taking his hand from his person to shake it within both of hers, "Who'd have thought it that we'd bump elbows again here of all places?" With an unbridled amorousness she gave him the strategic once-over, voice dropping to a raspy approval, "I'm liking the threads... Got any spurs to go with that number, cowboy?"

Xan had the good grace to blush just a bit at the compliment never quite able to get over others approving of him. "Naw no spurs this time but I have a spare in my bag for emergencies..." He smiled warmly ignoring the space between them to give the woman a warm friendly hug before pulling away to get a good look at her. "Though you're looking quite alluring yourself tonight ma'am. What brings ya 'round these parts?"

Peeking around his guardian Domevlo had no clue what or who had taken his attention but he didn't like it. Slipping around the taller man he frowned visibly at the woman he'd remembered from before. A broken down junk heap of a car... she wasn't worth the time right now. He had been having fun learning about his Cow-thing's work but then there was a hiccup... Amber eyes roved over the woman then rolled full circle before falling on the hooded character seated at the table. A slender digit jutted out quickly cutting between Genie and Xan to point out, "Who that?"

Turning his minty gaze Xan took over hoping Domo's rudeness wasn't too much of a bother. "Indeed. Who is your friend?" Gently moving the digit back to Domo's side Thanatos awaited an answer while inspecting the new addition. What were the odds of helping a random woman and finding her a guardian some time later? 'Hell of a small world indeed' He thought.

Genevieve could not resist a self-indulgent twirl on her heel to send the hem of her dress afloat on the resulting breeze. Granted it was the very same dress she would have had no reservations wearing to a wedding and a funeral in the same day, but it was still rather fulfilling to be appreciated as a woman, and not a pea-brained monkey-girl shackled behind a counter for once. She snugly drew her sash around her shoulders before returning to her seat, as now, it seemed all eyes were on her company.

The Cobra was far less colorful than his woman... At present, he was slumped across the table, like a crumpled napkin. His hood overcast his face and his shoulders were low. Though one shouldn't be mistaken, as he was neither irritated nor nervous. He was simply feeding and didn't wish to be bothered. Though Genie had yet to realize this behavior. She drew across the table, trying modestly to keep her bosom from spilling out as she leaned over to him to shake his shoulder a bit and alert him to their table-guests. Basil lazily opened one eye after some persistent rattling. Glancing headily over the man and one of his many Brothers, Basil grinned even wider in a fashion that nearly looked painful, opening his adjacent eye in the process. Like a resurrected horror movie monster, he slowly grew erect in his seat in order to face the onlookers. Genevieve waved her hand in the general direction of his peers, giving him an educational social opportunity, "Hon? You wanna introduce yerself to these people? They'd like t'meet you."

There was a long moment of stringent silence... Of grinning and staring and waiting. Until from his gaping mouth poured a crackled, clearly abnormal voice for him to possess. It sounded cheery; a woman's voice. Artificially pleasant and soothing and inviting. It was an advert. "In the Mediterranean, fresh ingredients and seafood are on tables every day. At Red Herring, we're bringing new entrees inspired by the Mediterranean to your table, only for a limited time!" Succintly afterwards, his head hit the table... Genevieve couldn't say she wasn't alarmed, but she did remain sympathetic, brushing back his hood to pet his hair and make sure he hadn't hurt himself. She looked reassuringly to the man before her, "Heh... we were watching TV before we left the house. He picks things up now and again... His name is Basil, my... raevan...lab...snake...thing." Very smooth, Mr. Bond.

Basil was his name? Xan mulled this over while trying to take in what he'd just saw and heard for that matter. To say he was taken aback was putting it mildly. Quite literally this particular Raevan was ... well weird. Though it wasn't his place to judge others and most certainly not now considering his not-all-there Raevan as well. Speaking of said frei the lead beast was already on the move when Xan looked to his side to find nothing there but space and opportunity... "Domo?" Turning in a full circle before he noticed the gray blip poking at the other, he palmed his face with an irritated sigh. "Stop that!"

Still poking the other like himself, Domo would have given a wide grin -- if only it could be seen -- instead he settled for a frown, something easily noticed by his guardian. "He sleep now?" Even though he was young Domevlo had also shared his guardian's thoughts. This one was weird but how could he sleep so easily in the middle of all this excitement. He should wake up! And besides what kind of introduction was that anyway! "Get up Red Herring!" Looking between the two humans Domo continue to poke the passed out Raevan wondering if he were going to stay sleep all night. That's no fun, totally boring. "What woman do to Red Herring? Picture box not make Domo sleepy!"

"Now now Domo calm down. It's not her fault I'm sure." He smiled softly sliding between the two so Domovelo could stop poking the poor frei. He looked quite tired or maybe this was normal... well as normal as could be for these creatures. They were all quite unique and fascinating. "It's a pleasure to have met him." Thanatos interjected deciding to steer away from the uncomfortable meeting. "How have you been keeping up? I hope my friend was able to help you out with your car."

While it might have seemed that Basil was out for the count, it was to be said that he was far from asleep, and he most certainly didn't approve of being poked and prodded in his current state. His ears stung with the cries of an impetuous gray creature, touching him, threatening him. Acting on natural impulses, he jerked upwards from the table with a fearsome hiss and half a snap to repel the annoyance before Xan graciously inserted himself between the two. His predator's teeth withdrawing, Basil was decidedly passive, turning to lay his head against the smoothness of Genie's shoulder instead.

Needless to say, Genevieve was completely shocked. Basil had never shown that kind of aggression before... Any violence he exhibited was purely out of surprise or obliviousness, such as the case with her lizards. She did not think it was in him to become irritated by, well, much of anything. Scared or confused perhaps, but not annoyed enough to strike. But as Basil sought refuge against her, burying his head in the space between her arm and breast, it became a little clearer... After a technological possession such as what he just experienced, in other words, the vibrations and signals he frequently picked up from television and radio, he was in a state of such hypersensitivity, that even the electromagnetic pulses of his brain became painful for him. Sights and smells and sounds became temporarily amplified by tenfold, and at his age, it was simply too much. He just needed to put a little pressure against his temples to simmer down, and he would no doubt return to the simple and courteous creature she knew him to be. She cradled his head against her... She wouldn't even attempt to try and explain such a concept to her guest who had shown her nothing but kindness thus far.

She gladly changed the subject as she patted the boy's cheek, "Oh me? Double S double D, if you get my drift... I'm still working over at that playplace on the east side. Much better since I traded that heap of junk in. Couldn't really afford my new ride but it's not like I had much other choice... If there's ever one thing I can say I even remotely liked about that piece of crap, is that it tended to break down around cute men." She snorted a bit in a good-natured amusement, "What about you? Anything new?" Hey, that rhymed.

Cute men? The cowboy couldn't help blushin quite red at that, if he could he might have tipped his hat down over his eyes just a bit to hid himself but over time he'd learned to get used to complements. Even if they still made him act like a school girl at times. "Thanks.. I suppose that's a good thing then. Getting a new car I mean." For a moment a man poked his head from behind the curtains nodding in Xan's direction. With a wide grin, Xan smiled to Genie ignoring the man for now. "For the most part I haven't been doing too much. Keeping this ticking gray time bomb from going off." Poking the gray frei he chuckled while moving his hand at the swatting gray hand.

"No poke!"

"Well if you don't like it why do you do it to others?" Xan shook his head still unable to comprehend Domevlo's way of thinking.

"Domo do what he want. No like they say so... not snap!" He shrugged and floating idly beside his guardian while amber eyes glanced ever so slightly at the other frei. He wanted to poke him some more but if he snapped at him like that again, there'd be hell to pay. Shifting low to the ground a sullen expression came across his eyes, which dulled considerably, if Xan had to take a guess, Domo was pouting. He wanted to make more friends but this strange Raevan was hard to figure out. "He sleep too much." At least that was what Domevlo thought was the best explanation for Basil's constant nuzzling against the woman. He looked tired ... well he acted tired. He couldn't tell with his hood hiding most of his facial features.

Sighing the frei hovered over, looming above the two. An eyebrow arched slightly at the thought of poking Basil but he thought against it for now. "Red Herring is weird. Not say nothing to Domo... cannot talk?" He asked of Genie eyes falling on Basil the whole time, however, something in the frei was on high alert.
PostPosted: Wed Mar 24, 2010 1:41 am

Gradually as the minutes progressed, nestled within his mistress' embrace with the gray thing hovering above them, his senses began to heal and his headache dissipating to the usual inexplicable burning. It was never a pleasant feeling... To the frei, it was as if hearing the perpetual screeching feedback from a faulty microphone; on and on and on. Never ceasing. Steadily, his eyes opened and his left hand rubbed tenderly against his forehead to soothe what remained of the static in his skull.

Genevieve replied to the other's curious inquiry as she began to reach for the silverware bundle next to her empty glass, "No, hon. He can talk just fine, he just... doesn't have much to say sometimes." She added tactfully to try and explain her boy's less-than-social advances. "His head hurts..." To assuage his budding temper, Genevieve broke her own personal rule by sliding the silverware towards the Cobra, who proceeded to curiously pluck the cloth napkin from around the gleaming utensils. The fork caught his immediate attention and brought back his peculiar smirk. For the moment he was rapt with the shine and the cold, warped surface of the metal, flicking his nails against it so as to hear the delicate tink-tink-tink. Clearly remedied of his affliction, Genie nodded, returning her attention promptly to her male friend, "You know, I normally don't get t'go out as often as I'd like to. Believe you me, I used t'travel all over 'fore I just got kinda wrangled into a slump..."

Basil looked up from his momentary obsession.

"But y'know, I could go on about bein' a globetrotter in my hay-day like some puffed up river-cricket, but I think I'd rather hear about what you and the lil' gray beastling have been up to. Y'ever make it to that museum after helpin' me out?"

Basil turned to Domevlo with a conspicuously blank expression, near dazed as if waking from a dream. His face lit like a Christmas tree light to be seated by his Brother, clearly acknowledging him for what to him, was likely the "first" time. "Hello!" he chirped, his mood seemingly taking a turn for the better. The cobra took instantaneous notice of how... lovely the creature seemed; how enchanting and perplexing all at once. With chrome skin and wispy, ghost-white hair. Basil reached to touch him unabashedly, no predetermined conception of any personal boundaries one might wish to foist upon him. He pet his arm, his jaw, his horn that elevated itself like an antennae to the heavens. He was metal... He soon lost all interest in the utensils in favor of this living, breathing transmitter. Something was getting him rather excited by the prospect, both of the serpent's fists now gripping and tugging the flare of his hood with his full lower lip clenched in his teeth. In his rapture he softly announced, his voice as dark as tinted glass, "I can do something. Wanna?" In his infant tongue, this was likely meant to be interpreted as something in the neighborhood of, "I have something to show you. Would you like to see?"

His eyes narrowed to splinters.

"Ah yes we made it just fine. The little beast had a conniption fit when I said we might have to postpone. Somehow I managed to get us there with a little time to spare. He insisted on buying a map of the place." Xan could only chuckle while reminiscing about the event. Said map was plastered on the frei's wall complete with frame and all. Eying Basil for a moment in silence Xan gave a soft smile to the other as he began to move about. He watched curiously while to two interacted giving Genie a light nudge with his elbow. "Will the children get along I wonder?"

In the mean time, Domo was doing his best not to sneer or hiss for that matter. The other had began invading his personal space, touching his metal skin, face and even his horn. No one really had touched it aside from Vyn. This made the second person so far and like before he wasn't opposed to it. With Basil's demeanor changing right before his eyes, Domo slowly began to melt at the attention he was given, somehow he liked it and smiled under the mystery mask. Eyes sparkling he gave a soft "Hello." in return. Keeping a close watch on the other he didn't mind being touched by this point turning amber globes to the guardians with a flicker of something happy, excited and curious. Reaching slender digits to the other he petted Basil's head wanting to know the fabric of his hood and the texture of his hair.

At the inquiry Domo paused for a brief moment in thought, it didn't take long for an answer, however, "Domo want know. What do?" He replied having no problem deciphering the speech the other had been using.

Genevieve wound her finger coyly around the rim of her glass while holding her jaw in her free hand. It was times such as these that her missing little finger made itself glaringly distinguishable if only by virtue of the theory that one did not begin to become aware of the elegance, the biological soundness of the human hand until one saw it try to perform even the most subtle nuance in a damaged state. As her finger hummed across the paper-thin rim of the glass, the remaining three fingers -thumb included- curled underneath the weight of her hand like the gnarled claw of a crane. It perched in mid-air with one tragic alteration, that being, the stump that gauchely protruded with nothing beyond the single joint to arch. A wounded crane. It sounded more poetic on paper than on the mild disfigurement of one woman. Hm... She could feel a little dime-store lip gloss on the surface of her teeth from gnawing her lip during the drive over. So long as she didn't smile like a Barbie doll, her far-flung reputation would be safe. She seethed slightly in regards to his question, her eyes sliding covertly across the span of her lid. Frankly, she was a little beguiled by Basil's piqued curiosity in the other. "You know... it's kind of hard t'tell with Basil. Don't get me wrong, I love the kid and all, but he's not much in the way of a people-person."

The cobra was deliciously on edge, the lines in his narrow throat growing fiercer with the tightening of his skin. His chin trembled with the murderousness of his grin... He had attained approval, and that was splendid. It was a little nerve-wracking at first for his own space to be invaded. For when Basil felt the flies, he could quite literally feel the sensation of flies... Their feet as small as the head of a pin, judiciously barbed with any number of scratchy, itchy little whiskers. The marked and irresolute twitching of their neckless heads as they fleetingly examined their next landing place. All inside the tenderness of his head, as if someone had soaked it, softened it. Made it susceptible to the flies... So to have the glassy, glossy, gorgeous metal surface slide against his flawed, fleshy covering made his skin not only crawl, but his heart flood with excitement. He could stand it no longer... With the rigorous strike of a finely tuned predator, the snake's hands snatched the wrists of the other, his piked fingertips driving against their targets.

He was concentrating very deeply, that much was clear. From an outsider's opinion, it would seem as though he were merely gripping upon the other's arms out of nothing but a displaced aggression, a confidence that wracked his actions and brought him to produce beads of sweat from his brow. But from within the union between the two, was much more, as one began transmitting a symphony of vibration to the other.

Through his fingers, Basil was broadcasting surge after powerful surge of oscillated energy to resonate within the metal housing of the Other out of nothing but sheer compulsion to experiment. Basil's power comparable to his age was horrifyingly potent... Thankfully it was rarely tapped into and remained to be expounded upon to it's full capacity. Eventually the vibrations became more apparent, as Basil's forearms wavered and his back arched with ceaseless impetus. The fine hair of his extremities and the nape of his neck raised with static. This was expected to mirror itself upon the Other. Among other symptoms of this other-worldly exchange. It was enough to make one's muscles spasm and their eyelids shutter like Morse-code. A high whining noise intruded one's ears unexpectedly in the absence of true noise (medically, this was known as Tinnitus, or, ringing of the ears). As the experience heightened, even the chairs in which they "sat" clattered against the flooring. It was an unexamined state; to be under siege by Basil's spell... But as his power waned, so too did his grip, and his energy. Releasing his hold upon the metal being, who was no doubt the greatest receptor of his ability thus far, Basil smiled tiredly and withdrew, his episode complete in the span of three and half minutes. He murmured grimly,

"Fun... Mm?"

It took a very sick individual to find pleasure in such a thing... He turned towards the table, his breathing hoarse.

Domevlo had not been expecting an experience quite like what Basil had in mind. For as curious as the young frei was he could not be considered a fool by no means. Amber orbs glanced once more at the cowboy and his companion before falling cobra. He did not know what to expect and simply allowed it -- for now. When the first wave of vibrations hit him, Domo did what came natural to the unknown. Flight or fight instincts kicked in, sending him jumping up before he realized that his arm had been carefully held in the cobra's grip. Unable to move away he was forced -- for the time being -- to endure the sudden waves the enveloped his metal body. Bouncing off every inner ridge, bone and organ that made him who he was.

His hair indeed stood up on end, even more so than was usual for the spiky haired Raevan. His eyes closed only to flutter open and close mimicking a someone who was enduring a seizure. He could no more get away from Basil's grip then he could assemble words in his mouth as he tried speaking. "S ssss...ooo--" but all that was muttered was a poor attempt at reprieve. For a moment his mind went blank and even the noise in the room had dulled to a low pitch over a deafening ring that seemed to have no end. For all instances Domevlo did not like this experience, not one bit... but good things come to those that wait.

As the vibrations heightened and his experience seemed like Basil's excuse for humorous torture, waves bounced off his inner walls, collecting upon themselves only to be absorbed and in a deliciously good way. Almost as if being tickled? No... it felt different from being tickled, something the lead frei could not quite describe. His mind became quite dizzy, filled with a heady effect that was akin to heat or being drunk. Managing with an immense amount of will power his eyes opened to show glazed orbs that fluttered softly. Matched with a deep tint to his uncovered cheeks (was he blushing?) -- it was hard to tell. Either way Domevlo soon gave up struggling and allowed himself to be fully engulfed with the vibrations that tickled a part of him that had yet to develop. If he had a stomach it would flip and flop with butterflies but because he didn't his heart seemed to beat uncontrollably within his chest, racing to find some comfort.

Thankfully Basil was ended his experiment - and not a moment too soon. Domevlo could barely catch his breath while waiting for the effects to wear off. In his case, the metal body that he provided absorbed all the vibrations and sounds taking a moment longer to end slow pleasure and pain. It was quite sick to think anyone would enjoy such an experience but for this particular creature it was not without saying. "...." For a long moment it took a while to compose himself, to come out of the effects even though Basil had long released him. "What Red Herring do?"
PostPosted: Wed Apr 14, 2010 2:33 am

For a fine while, including the grace period it took for Domevlo to return to his former state of awareness, Basil said nothing. He merely sat and he smiled in that sick, sick fashion, not quite malevolent, but not reassuring either... Genevieve could not even begin to imagine what it was that she had witnessed in the interaction between the two, but somehow she felt it was related to the tremors the boy had conjured only a few short months ago at the Winter Festival in Durem. Had she just witnessed a sample of his power? His "abilities" so to speak? She suddenly grew very nervous, and it showed. Her mouth became a tight, grim line, now fearful of touching the boy...

What troubled her more perhaps than the display itself, was the lack of knowledge of what it was exactly he had done. Her questions were much the same as the previously haunted Domevlo. Did he inflict seizures? Cause earthquakes? To what magnitude could he exert these abilities? Goodness... to imagine her volatile and homely little creature possessing of some sort of super-human abilities was not the most comfortable thought. He wasn't ready. He hadn't the mental or emotional responsibility to grasp these things. The extent of his damage had so far been limited to small pets, but to imagine him doing serious damage to another person was gut-wrenching. Much the same feeling as when she had discovered his predator's teeth for the first time. Gathering up her gumption, she slowly took Basil's forearm, repeating Domevlo's inquiry after an uneasy sidelong glance to her male friend, "Hon...? What did you do?"

She tried not to let the anxiety bleed through to her tone. She didn't want to risk upsetting Basil over something that didn't even seem so important to him. Her question was met with further silence. Surely it wasn't that he hadn't heard her. She was sitting less than a foot away from him! She leaned in somewhat to get a glimpse of his face, as if somehow she would be able to read it in his untroubled visage. She jumped slightly as Basil then replied, "We had fun." It was a very cryptic thing to say... As were most things that exited the boy's mouth. 'We' could very well imply himself and Domevlo. That he had somehow imparted a good stiff jolly onto Domo through such a frightening behavior. But somehow, Genevieve wasn't so sure that Basil had even regarded Domevlo at all at that particular moment... If that wasn't the case, then, who was 'we'?

She swallowed hard and pulled him close to her a second time, glancing to Xan, she suddenly appeared distracted by something off in the distance. She murmured softly, "Eh... Is it me or is that guy over there lookin' at us?" She gestured faintly to the stage.

Domevlo wasn't sure how to approch the subject of "we had fun". He wasn't so sure or unsure if it were a fun experience or not. Who was we and why would anything of such magnitude be considered fun? Blinking the confusion from his mind he sighed deeply then siddled closer to Basil bumping his shoulder toward the criptic Raevan. "We had fun?" He questioned as if to ask who in part was he referring to with the 'we'.

Deciding that wasn't a big issue anymore a ver slow smile crept along Domevlo's features the only visible sign was the wrinkles at the corners of his eyes and the lift in his cheek where the mask rested. "Domo not sure if fun but not sure it bad either." In fact he wasn't sure of anything but the fact that it did have some good points. The vibrations tickled a very interesting part of his being, awakening a dorment part of him he had yet to explore. "Do again some time, Domo want try something." Though for now he needed a moment to regain himself before attempting that again.

At the mention of a man peeking their way Thanatos had looked up from the current situation to note the time. "Oh yeah! I'm almost up." He announced and slipped away from the table with a curt bow. Domo smiled that hidden smile again and began bouncing some what animatedly in his seat. "Cow-thing play ivory now. Domo listen to him play at home, pretty music. Want learn some time too." Though he gave Xan plenty of hell when the man did try to teach him. It was just the poor frei had a short attention span and was even shorter on patience.
