Mini Weyr Woman couple questions 1: Can we find a pic on the net that best fits our character? Or would you rather they where original pics? Cuz either way, I was desireing a pic for my character(s) 2: Can we create a journal for our candidates in none rider and when/if they impress we can simply link it to the rider journal? 3: umm... I did have one... Crap... 1: You can find images if you like - just do not take credit if it's not your work. There's several face makers around that you can try to get a unique portrait for your character. 2: Once your Candidate's approved, feel free to make a journal in the non-rider subforum and then mark it for transfer if/when you Impress. That's perfectly fine ^^

What's this canon's stance on felines? Just giant vicious man-eating cats or are there smaller domestic ones too?
And what about dogs? Are they seen only as work animals, or are some kept as pets?
Actually... as a general rule, what animals are kept as pets? Are there rodents and the like?

Felines and canines both exist as wild and domesticated varieties. Felines are rare, however, as the larger canines are favoured for their greater ability to help with guarding, herding, and hunting. If you want a pet please double check with me.
Rodents are considered vermin and not kept as pets.
Pets: Felines (rare) Canines Flits Birds (rare)
Anything not on that list needs to be okayed on a case by case basis.

Thank you! :3
EDIT: Right! Another question...
What do the dragons think about the Atyps (in general)? Like rankwise and that sort of thing. Is a clutching Crimson just as respected as a Gold?

It varies greatly dragon by dragon. In general there's no great animosity between the two types - the traditional colours are well established and well respected, and the Atypical dragons have been around for close to 2-300 Turns now so they're a norm. Opinions range everything from weaklings that should not be included in the wings (more popular in the Old Weyrs) to weaklings who need to be protected to dear allies or bitter enemies to rivals.
A Crimson who chooses to try to breed is a bit of an enigma since they don't always succeed. If a Crimson does manage to clutch, they are definitely well respected because they're adding to the Weyr's population. However there's no special treatment, really. The leaders of the Weyr are the Golds and Bronzes and that's something everyone knows.
Does that help?

It certainly cleared up a lot of my confusion. :3
But I meant more in terms of ranks. Golds at the top and everyone else somewhere underneath. Where do atyps fall into that? Are Crimsons on the same rank at Browns, more or less (and blacks ranked with blues, as size goes)?
(I've got a dragon character who views things in somewhat traditional terms; she follows orders of higher colors so it's relevant)

Oooh. This is the Ranking
Gold => Highest Authority Bronze Silver Brown/Crimson Blue Black Green
Whites are so rare that they generally don't have a 'rank' with the others associated with colour. Silvers can obtain the rank of Wingleader on occasion, as can Browns. Blacks are generally considered somewhere between/equivalent to Blues and Greens. Crimsons are on par with Browns, though they rarely, if ever, gain the rank of wingsecond.
There's a list on NPCs for each Weyr, including Wingleaders and Wingseconds.

Can we request Impression by certain colors only for our character? IE- to be considered for Atypical impressions or Typical impressions only?
If I don't sign my char up for the alpha hatching is there still a chance she'll impress if there's a dragon personality for her? She'll be 12 turns technically, but I think I'm going to have her just turned.

Honestly, I disagree with requesting certain colours only just because it further limits your options. Atypical dragons will never outnumber the number of Traditional dragons in a clutch (2-4/12 for example) so to request one over the other rather hurts your chances rather then helps it. Part of the fun is not know what you'd get.
If you want a guaranteed colour or personality, wait for customs. =3 There will be opportunities for clutch-customs in the future but I can't guarantee that will be anytime soon.
You must sign up for the hatching to be considered. If you're not signed up, the character isn't considered ICly present for Impression. The character can be either a normal weyrperson or a candidate - I will consider stands Impressions.

I'm going to be the clueless one here - what does PRP mean? I would get into RP, but it looks like all the threads are closed to new entrants.

girlomega I'm going to be the clueless one here - what does PRP mean? I would get into RP, but it looks like all the threads are closed to new entrants. PRP means "private roleplay" - usually done between two or three people at max.
ORP means "open roleplay" and can involve any number of people.
You can ask in thread for people to RP with, or start an ORP and hope people join.
