i just caught a noctowl... i been trainin it for a while it reach 48 today i noticed sum den ... its stats r lookin funni its sp.def is n da 100s n every thing els is below .why is dat?

Noctowl's Spcl. Def. is higher than it's other stats. Different stats. is what makes Pokemon so different. Plus it could've fought a lot of Spcl. Def. gaining Pokemon such as Tentacool/Tentacruel.

Well, pokemon have different stats, and that's what makes them different to eachother. Some will have better stats than others, and some will be weaker at some stats as well. Just depends all on the pokemon. (I hope that's what you were asking about.)

between IVs, EVs and nature there's a lot of room for it's stats to be high.

IV are stats that makes each Pokemon different. The IVs are random from 0 - 31 and the higher it is the better its stats will be. If you train two Pokemon that are the same and same nature, their overall stats will be different. If you want a more complete detail explanation on IV here is a Link

The link describes IVs perfectly. It uses EVs in the formula, but it's only talking about IVs. Read it again.
