Have any of you done it before? I've actually been meaning to donate my hair for a long time since it's the ideal type for making wigs.

Yeah, I've donated my hair a few months ago. I went to Great Clips, but I'd figure that most places would take donations. Anyway, I was lucky enough to have them ask me if I wanted to donate or not, so I accepted, signed a form, and got a thank you letter a few months later. xD I'd scan it up to show you, but I can't connect my scanner to my computer at the moment. I would ask them if you could donate your hair and see what they say. I had my hair donated to Locks of Love. When I donated, I also got my haircut for free. Some places, I hear, don't tell you about it and donate the hair themselves, so... yeah. I don't know too much about it, but I hope I helped somewhat. sweatdrop

I did a quick search and found a few links. I'm hoping they'll be of some use to you. Here are some charities that you can choose from and they should have instructions on donating your hair, if your salon can't.

I donated my hair to locks of love. The want you to measure it, write it down, and put it in a ziplock bag. I asked if I could see the finished product, but unfortunately I could. I guess it takes A LOT from other people to produce 1 wig.
