She was running. Running in the cold, the rain, the harsh winds-- what was she running from? Serah didn't know. All she knew was that if she didn't stop, she would get caught. She wouldn't come back. Desperation, panic, and fright overtook her, making her running style slow and clumsy. She couldn't jump. That meant she wasn't Serandite, she was Serah. Why couldn't she transform?
But the better question was what was she running from?
As soon as she pondered that question, she found herself tripping on a rock, face-flat into the muddy ground. Tears dotted her eyes from the painfull fall, stumbling, feet clumsily moving over each other to run forward. But her hand was jerked back, pulled back by the crook of her elbow and shoved into a wall.
She was shoved to the wall in an all-too-familiar position, staring into Kunzite's eyes. Those ice blue eyes that terrorized Serah so much-- How could she be meeting him? She wasn't nearly strong enough to match him but he shouldn't have been here. Those thoughts ran through her mind over and over, trembling fingers trying to pull the ice-cold hands from her throat.
"Tell your General I send my greetings."
And then the stab to the gut came. Serandite fell back, watching as she seemed to fall back into the ocean, Kunzite's face and figure growing smaller and smaller.
But the dream didn't end there.
Her hands flailed, water choking her throat, coughing, sputtering, her hand reached up in an attempt to reach the surface. It was a hand that grabbed hers. But not the friendly hand she was seeking, Pulled up by yet another harsh grip, she met Charonite this time.
"We have no use to people who waver here, Lieutenant. Your measly death will be replaced by another ******** stupid lieutenant. Or you can shape yourself up and be the ******** murder I want you to be." His cold voice sent chills down Serandite's spine. She tried to pull away in fright, eyes widening in the presence of the General-King. He let go of her wrist, leaving her to fall again, plunged back into the water, the cold and dark water that seemed so much more suffocating than regular water.
Someone's black back was faced toward her.. There was long flowing hair.. Long blond hair. A pale hand pulled Serah up, Serah realized who it was immediately. Finally, a familiar friend in the midst of all this chaos. But what spoke to her was not the comforting tone she seeked. Not that Tisi spoke in a comforting tone, but this was a much colder and harsher tone than Serah or Serandite had heard.
"You turned to a senshi for advice. You hesitated when that cat told you, you could be saved. I was a senshi. Do you think that you could be saved when I couldn't be? I have no words for you." Just like that, she sent a black void towards Serandite, knocking her back into the water. Serah sobbed, her shoulder jerking. Even Tisiphone.. Even her.
What was next?
Unfortunately, there was something next. It was .. Serandite? She joined Serah in the water, floating towards Serah with the ease that Serah lacked.
She spoke in a soothing tone, as one would to a child. "Poor poor little Serah. She thought that getting the okay from the good guys would make it better. But you betrayed the negaverse." Serandite's accusing voice was ringing in Serah's ears now, as she slowly sunk.
"I-I never betrayed them."
"By hesitating, you betrayed them. You wanted to put that starseed back when Ophelia told you to, right?" Serandite said, her hand traveling down to Serah's chest, red streaks now staining her civilian clothes. Serah thought silently.. Would one moment of hesitation be considered betraying the negaverse? I-I.." Her hand met Serah's chest, before Serah knew it, the hand plunged into her chest and stole her very own starseed.
"Off with you."
The short curt order was said and Serah found herself promptly falling. Chains were pulling her down into the never ending blackness below, screaming as she fell, grasping, desperately for anything. Anything. Her hands flailed uselessly in the blackness, reaching out frantically. She would be pulled down into the ocean of regrets and become stuck there.
Nothing came. Nothing would ever come-- Serah would turn to a horrible monster with nothing left. Tears dotted the brim of her eyes. That's what the negaverse did to people. Her humanity--- gone.

She awoke in a bed, clinging to someone's shirt.
"Whoa, whoa. Hey there, I love you and all but sibling love is a definite no-go Serah." A cheerful voice cried out, startling Serah to let go. Shaking brown eyes looked up at her older brother, even though a cheerful smile was on his expression, his expression was strained. Bloody bandages indicated that he had been treating her wounds. Serah didn't know when her brother got back or how she came here but those details weren't important at the moment. She didn't answer to his joking remark, only burying her face in his shoulder.
"E-Everyone left .. I-Is Serandite more important than Serah? W-Why can't I just be myself?" She said aloud, clutching her brother's shoulders, her body jerking with sobs. For once, she had someone to awake to in her nightmare.
Deep down, she realized that the dream had been voicing the uncertainty left in her. It wasn't another version of herself-- it was herself, pounding in the truth that she desperately wanted to deny. Like Nealite had said, your negaverse persona eclipsed your civilian persona. But Serah would never let it completely eclipse her-- She was Serah. Always. B-But.. who needed Serah? A cold sweat ran over her, trembling.
He gave her a confused look in his tight hug, wondering what had overcome her.
