Nywele was so happy when it turned out that Amani was really pregnant. He was relieved that Amani made it through safe and sound. Three cubs!!!! Two boys and one little girl! Nywele felt complete for the first time.
Nywele woke earlier than he ever had before. He moved around the den trying to make sure every toy was in the perfect spot. He had even taken a trip to the god's haven for materials. Some of the toys shined like gold and were all perfectly safe for clawing and chewing.
Vashti had one annoying little habit so far. She kicked her back legs off and on while she was sleeping. She was already suffering from a few nightmares, but she had not told anyone about them. Her ears flicked as she heard the tweeting from Mr.Birdy. "Shush bird bird..." She whined putting a paw over her eyes.

To be honest, he had gotten used to being kicked repeatedly in the ribs by his sister in the womb. It didn't make it any more enjoyable, though. "Stoppid, sister," Behnam muttered as he tried to roll away without having to wake up.
Amani, on the other hand, was dead to the world. Even if it had been a small litter, it had been an exhausting experience! She let out a slight sigh and moved just a bit in her sleep before falling even deeper into oblivion.

Nywele lifted his head as he heard the cubs stirring. He moved over to Amani and lay beside her while watching the cubs. This would for sure be Amani's day off, but Nywele felt disappointed in himself at the same time. He had not managed to capture an adult banu to help with the cubs. He had Uggi yes, but she was young and given to him. He looked over to the little banu and felt a tinge of sadness that she was not laying by her mother right now. It would be her day off as well, as frighting as the thought may be Nywele would take care of the cubs today.
"Shush brother." Vashti said rolling and accidentally kicking near Behnam's head before rolling offer the raised bed area. Luckily, Amani had foreseen this making extra bedding all around to cushion any tumble. But it still startled Vashti. She let out a yelp and jumped to her paws. "Did you do that Behnam?" She asked trying to pull herself back into the bed.

Behnam opened one shiny, sleepy gold eye. "Do what?" he asked rudely, yawning in her face and closing his eyes again. "You fell out all on your own," he added, cuddling a little closer to their mother's warmth and letting out a sleepy sigh.
He didn't have nightmares. In fact, so far the only dream he had ever had was of flying.

"Pssh!" Vashti said before pawing at her brother trying to get him to fall as well. "Wake up! I wanna do stuff now that I'm up." She pleaded with her brother. "Please?!"
Nywele watched the cubs smiling. He supressed a giggle at what Vashti was doing. What ever pad got her in the future where sure to have their paws full.

"Okay, okay," he muttered, waking up with a mumbled growl. Then he promptly jumped off the bed, aiming to tackle his sister. He made more noise than actual impact, trying to wrestle with her. There was a lot of growling and yelping as he tried to get her to play with him.
Amani woke up, watching the two sleepily, a tiny smile playing on her lips. "My brothers used to do the same thing to me," she told her pad.

Vashti squealed as her brother tackled her. She played back, but wrestling was so not her favorite. She knew her brother enjoyed it so that was enough for her. Vashti yelped occasionally when she felt her brother bite to hard, even though he really wasn't.
Nywele jumped a little as Amani spoke. He did not expect her to wake up. "Good morning Amani, they did huh?" Nywele smiled a bit, but his mind drifted a bit trying to remember his past. "Must have been fun, hope they weren't to rough on you though." He said with a light chuckle.

"Of course not," Amani said with a smile, watching the two. Her third was still asleep, so she left him to that, standing and stretching. "It's one of my favorite memories," she said, inwardly wincing. Her entire body was sore, she thought. She couldn't imagine how badly Mzu must have felt after her massive litter.
"I win!" Behnam announced, pulling away from his sister triumphantly and sitting down to look up at his parents. "What we do now?" Clearly he was awake to the world now.

Nywele watched Amani carefully he was just a little worried about her. "Are you feeling well?" He said getting to his paws. A pang of guilt swept over him, he had not found a banu to help Amani without thinking he spoke. "Im sorry Amani......" Nywele shook his large mane realizing what he had said out load he felt embarrassed to admit his failure. "Now Amani you may stretch and watch the cubs, but everything else Ill do." He moved fowards past the cubs. "You are no doubt hungry my beybanu. I will hunt and be back soon." The male gave her a goofy smile before heading out of the den. "You will behave for your mother, today we rest tomorrow I shall take you outside the den." Nywele tapped his tail on the top of Bednam's head before leaving the den.
"That sounds boring." Vashti whined as she got up giving her brother a fake mean look in reply to his claim of victory. "Mother can't we go with Father?"

"No honey," Amani said, smiling at her little cub happily. "Simply because I do not believe your father has hunted in his entire life," she said with a hint of teasing. "Who knows how long he'll be gone?"
She gently reached out, scooping up the two awake cubs and pulling them to her side. "You are young, and there is so much for you to learn," she whispered to them. "Why the sun rises in the morning, and why the moon rises at night. As you grow," she went on, her voice sweet and calming, lulling Behnam to sleep once again. He blinked, fighting the sensation hard. He didn't want to sleep! He wanted to hear what his mother had to say!
"As you grow, you will learn more and more," Amani went on, smiling as her boy's head nodded and his eyes threatened to close. If she could lull them back to sleep she could go back to sleep herself! And she definitely needed it.
