Ona: (2:53:31 PM):
Ona'raha was sunning himself in the dappled sunshine of one of the many beautiful clearings in the territory of Shadow Clan. The weather was fine and the scent of distant antelope and water added to the perfect feel of this place. Of home. No words could describe his love of this land and his family. All he could ever want was here. Even still, there was perhaps one thing missing. His friend Malik. He missed the large golden lion greatly and wondered where he was. Still travelling? Had he succeeded in his plans? Ona hoped so. Even still, he had a feeling he'd see Malik again. There farewell was not meant to last forever. Stretching out a little, Ona folded back his ears and raised his head to the sunlight and wondered; where was everyone else today? With so many children around the lands were seldom quiet anymore. It was unusual but...nice, too.
Kohana: (3:04:36 PM):
Kohana had been thrown out of the den for the day. Rehema was growing moody through the past few days. PErhaps it was time and she simply needed her space, or perhaps she just needed a moment's peace. Either way, she didn't want any of her children nearby for the day.

The large male approached his father and dropped down beside him, his back leaning against Ona's as he dropped his head down to rest on his paws.
Ona: (3:10:30 PM):
The small adult turned his ears at the sound of approaching paws, smiling a little at the realisation that he was no longer alone. So, who was coming to join him then? A few moments later and his question was answered. Kohana, a quiet male but with a heart of gold. There was a moments silence as the other settled and then Ona spoke. "Something on your mind, Kohana?" He turned his head to peer at him. Curious, he continued. "Something I can help with?"
Kohana: (3:23:32 PM):
He flicked his tail and turned his head to eye the older male, regarding him quietly before he offered a single nod. He waited in silence for a moment longer, assuming that Ona would want a little more than a simple yes or no, he took a deep breath. "Mother will have more cubs..."
Ona: (3:28:54 PM):
Ona had to admit he had wondered whether Rehema may be expecting again. However, to think it and heard it being said were two quite different things. He looked across at the male - his son - and blinked rapidly for a moment. Then after a few seconds of soundless jaw swinging, he found words. "Yes...I think you're right." And then the smile came and it would not leave his face. Cubs! A bigger family! He could think of nothing more perfect even if they hadn't exactly talked about a third litter. "How...how is she?"
Kohana: (3:35:10 PM):
He sighed and shrugged his large shoulders. One of his brothers had already gone on to another clan, had already sired a litter of cubs. He was an uncle... soon Eeva would have her mate join their clan and mother her own cubs. It had been quietly bothering him that he'd not yet found someone. Even then- he couldnm't leave the clan. His duty was to his family to Eeva...

"She's fine." He answered gruffly. "Just cranky."
Ona: (3:42:00 PM):
He tipped his head a little, wondering - as he often did - what went through that mind of his. Kohana was a very difficult lion to read at the best of times! Even still, if there had been something wrong with Rehema, the boy would have said. Ona smiled anew. It was odd to think of his children as grown up. Adults. Responsible and leading their own lives. Scary, too, to think how swiftly time passed. "Ah." He replied, understanding, "She sent you away, did she?" He purred. "Dont worry, Kohana, she'll be fine again soon. Carrying children must be a very odd thing." He paused. "So, do you think you're up to caring for more little siblings? They'll definately need a brother who can show them the ropes!"
Kohana: (3:49:51 PM):
He nodded quietly. Rehema had been very admient about driving him, and the others off. Perhaps it was time...he wasn't sure. She'd been quite round over the last few weeks. Hunting had fallen on him and the others as she grew more and more tired.

"I suppose." He shrugged again. "I may be the only one that can offer a paw. Everyone else is busy with their own lives."
Ona: (3:56:18 PM):
Ah, so that was it. That was what was bothering him. Ona'raha cursed himself for not having seen it before now. Poor Kohana... he must feel so...so left behind! But there was no need and Ona would tell him just that! "Kohana! Come now! You are young yet and there is still plenty of time for you to find a beautiful mate and settle down." He had no doubt that Kohana would be a loyal and dependable girl. She - whoever she might be -would be extremely lucky. "But it certainly couldn't hurt to mingle with the other Clans a little. Your perfect girl may be barely a short trek away!"
Kohana: (4:25:44 PM):
He shook his head slowly. It wasn't that simple. He had a purpose among the Shadow Clan. All the females 'just a trek away' were in other clans. Their family made up the brunt of their clan. What females he had seen around were spoken for. The other new members were all male.

"My mate is my clan. She deserves my attention above all others. That is my place."

Ona looked across at his son sadly, but nodded gently, knowing that his son would not have his mind so easily swayed. He hoped, beyond anything else, that he found a female to love and protect with all of his heart. Kohana had so much to offer.

"You are a good lion, Kohana. Selfless, noble, protective. Your mother and I are very proud of you." He paused. "But even still, sometimes you should try and put yourself before others, if only from time to time."

He'd make a note to discuss this with Rehema at some point. Perhaps she'd have better luck getting through to him. He paused again, tilting his head a little. "I think I best go check on Rehema, just in case it is time and I'm not there. She'll never forgive me." He stood and glanced at his son, wishing he were better with words. "Rehema came out of the blue and stole my heart. I have faith the same will happen to you."

"Perhaps one day." The lion shrugged his thick shoulders and shifted his weight as his father rose up away from him. He curled his paws under him and slowly laid his chin down on the ground. "Now isn't the time for me to daydream of finding a mate. Mother... will have more cubs. Someone needs to watch them."

He glanced over and gave a short nod. "Maybe. I don't hold my breath for anything. Let me know how she is."

"Take care, son." Ona'raha replied softly. He wanted to tell him that he loved him dearly, that he still worried for him and cared for him even though he was all grown up. But somehow the words seemed awkward. They were two grown adults, not adult and cub. Besides, after a moment of thought, he trusted Kohana would do what he thought best. He had a good head on his shoulders. Besides, he was sure that Kohana knew he loved him. Family was so important. All of his and Rehema's children had been taught the values of family.

"I will. I'm sure she'll be fine."

And with a slight smile, the male turned back towards the den, hoping that Rehema was indeed okay.
