This is how the system goes, Lords and private investors will be able to colonize areas of the Oukoku Seken. This is an easy way to earn money and to expand your empire, but be forewarned, it is also an easy way to fight in an all out epic war. There are pros and cons to owning land, it will be up to you to discover if the good outweighs the bad. And of course, there are rules and regulations to this system of colonization.
Guidelines
1) In order for an individual to occupy a vacant land, he or she must make a post of 300 words or more that describe the actions of him or her settling on the land. Also the individual must have at least 5 characters to settle on the land. (NPCs count as characters)
2) When an invader is attempted to takeover an already vacant land, he or she must give the land owner a minimum of two days to respond (unless it is prior noted that the owner of the land will be absent for more than two days.) In order to take over a land, the attacker must either kill off all settlers or force the owner of the land to retreat.
3) The owner of the land will get certain benefits from owning the land if he or she builds important structures on the land. (the building process must be RP'ed. A guide will be posted soon on what buildings get you what things)

Town Center [300 words]: Every 3 days 5 more villager NPCs get created for your colony. (One automatically comes with settlement
Mines [150 words]: NPCs and Characters can dig for expensive metals. (outcome depends on location) [Minimum of 10 villagers to operate per mine]
Farms [150 words]: NPCs and Characters can plant crops and harvest them. (outcome depends on location) [Minimum of 10 villagers to operate per farm]
Barracks [100 words]: Every 3 days 10 soldier NPCs get created for your colony/empire/territory.
Temple [300 words] : Increases colonist moral, profits doubled. (Only one church per settlement)
