Etrello got the ok from her daddy to go roaming as long as she did it in a straight line.
which lead her to a river connecting to the sea. she snorted and sneezed not liking the salty air, much preferring the forest canopy.
she then turned around and noticed her path had some new puddles,
" at least I can play in the puddles!"
she jumped splashing into the little puddle, her hooves sinking down in the soft sand making her giggle.

Maeniel had woken up, like most days, in a good mood. He had his biscuits and broke his fast for the day. Things were going swell. This day he had decided to take a little detour from the shores of the sandy beach where he normally dwelled to take an offshoot into one of the freshwater channels, sometimes it was a nice change of pace and one was able to find lovely chaps and chapesses there. Maeniel smiled as he fondly recalled the little ones he had met before, oh how they had grown~ he wondered if he would see them again but he was certainly glad to have met them. He always hoped to make new friends with little ones, to be the first of a kind they'd ever seen, just to have a nice chat. He was a friend of what his colleagues called "land lubbers".
He had just found a lovely stick in the current to wrap his tail around and keep himself grounded so he could figure out which way to travel next when a splash on his left caught his attention~ he whirled his little body around and the fins on his back folded back, it had caught him by surprise~!!
He blinked the water from his eyes and slowly smiled when he realized what he had been looking at. A filly~!! this was a spry little one with curious looking horns and an odd tail he'd never seen on a four legger. He wiggled his nose and called out to her just as she finished splashing into another puddle.
"Oh~ havin fun there are ye missy?"

Estrello's ears perks back and stood rigid for a moment, " who's there?"
she sniffed back a sneeze but it sounded like she was about to cry.

Maeniel arched his neck and grunting a little he squirmed up the stick a little more so he was a few inches above the bank of the waterway, he frilled his fins out and smiled gently, hoping he wouldn't startle her anymore, he raised a tiny hoof " A'llo~ ah dinnae mean to frighten ya lass, just say hi~" he shook water droplets from his mane, thinking he must look VERY funny to her, only being the size of a small house cat, he was still quite a bit smaller than the filly in question.

estrello turned and saw him, her eyes and mouth going big,
" your so cute!"
her glass like green eyes sparkle while she examined him.

Maeniel beamed up at the little filly and chuckled, fiddling his ears back and forth. " Hoho~ well thankee~ though i dunno abou' "cute" missy, ah think that title belongs to you~" he wiggled his nose " By the way, m'name's Maeniel~" he bowed his little head and winked roguishly " now wot's your name lil miss?"

dammit! why was she acting shy!?!
she then gets angry a bit, "liar, your the cute one."

Maeniel chuckled " Estrello hmm? that is a very pretty name for a very pretty lass" He wiggled his nose again, getting a better hold on the stick with his tail, the current was rather strong and he didn't want to float away whilst in the middle of a conversation!
"Heh" he shrugged his little shoulders and blinked up at her with his big brown eyes " if ye think me cute then och, i must be cute~!!" he grinned~
"So what are you doin out 'ere all by yorself eh?"

estrello goes closer, getting her hooves a bit wet,
" daddy said I could go anywhere I wanted as long as it was in a straight line."
her long uni tail swished around picking up a bit of water and flinging some around

Maeniel smiled as she splished around, wiggling his nose and replying " ah, well ah suppose that's ok~ i was quite a traveler when oi wuz a young nipper~" he chuckled a little " me mom n pa could ne'er keep track o me~" he glanced down where her hooves were on the bank and coughed " careful miss Estrello, ye don't wanna fall in now do ye?"

Estrello backed up a step and thought, " does the salt air make your voice sound like that?" sniffing back as the air tickled her nose.

Maeniel smiled and gave a small little laugh from his perch, shaking his mane of a leaf that had drifted down from above. " Och, on miss Estrello~ oi come from a different land yaknow~ we all speak loike this where oim from" he beamed up at her. " Izzit weird to ye?"

Maeniel blew a small rainbow swirled bubble and winked in response " Nope, oi swam alllllll the way from a place loike no other~ wot yer hearin is moi accent~"
