The blue femme laid at the opening of the massive den that was shared by a fair few wolves, the rain poured down heavily and her mate was out on a border patrol despite the terrible weather. Faela watched a streak of lightning jump across the sky lighting it up and the crack and rumble of thunder rolling through moments later. She didn't even so much as flinch as she felt the rumble under her paws and in her chest.
"Rain, rain, falling down, welling, swelling all around. Fill the holes and gaps and gulls" she sang quietly under her breath as she watched the water gather and flow is small streams. He mind drifted over dark stories, small rhymes and so many others things she had created in her mind over time as she had watched rain.
It was something she felt a strange connection to the rain, what it was about the dark, ominous skies the water that would pour down heavily soaking the earth and creating dry dirt into mud, but the rain fed the earth, allowing plants to grow and the green world survive with the bright warmth and light of the sun. What was it about the rain that made her feel as though she were one with it, she contemplated such a thing.
Paws shifting a little, Faela laid her head carefully over her paws, her brown eyes looking out passed the water, her mind drifting about, dark tipped tail curled around her side to hold in warmth. The rain brought slightly cooler weather but once summer came around it would only get muggy and the air would be thick.

Rain...
It was quite marvelous when one thought about it. Such a small drop, but part of a whole storm. A storm that could bring destruction, but also brought life in it's wake.
Renvyle's mind lingered on this as he made his way through the territory, fresh from patrol in such dreary weather. Rain pelted his dark coat, making it seem all the darker as he went. He had only been within this pack for a short time and was still learning all the ropes, but it was obvious from his posture and his chipper and eager behavior that he was taking to it quite well.
He came to the large cavern, shared by many, and slipped inside, careful to step around the lovely, blue femme that rested at the opening.
"Good evening, ma'am." He greeted her with a polite dip of his head as he hauled his sopping body into the warmth and shelter offered by the cavern.

Faela looked up with a soft smile at the drenched wolf, dripping with the rain water. The poor thing, being so wet was never fun and the smell of wet wolf even to a wolf was never exactly a pleasant one, but something they dealt with. "Good evening, Sir." she said back carefully. "A good patrol?" she questioned tilting her head. Poor Numair, he would come back later just as wet at this wolf.
Now that she thought about, she had never met this one before, through truly she didn't know many wolves at all besides her mate. She hadn't quite settled in just yet and was just starting to get into mingling with others and get to know them. "I'm sorry, my name is Faela, and you are? I know we haven't met before...I'm still learning everyone." she said with a slight chuckle. She wasn't a shy wolf in the slightest, in face she was extremely social but for the first few weeks she had been in the territory she had been cared for by her mate who wouldn't let her out of the den while her paw healed. There was a small scar from the feral's teeth, but nothing more, nothing lasting at least which was good.
Black tail wriggling and thumping the stone and dirt floor of the great den, she moved a bit to allow the soak male more room to lay down. Though a part of her braced for a possible shake from him to get rid of as much access water on his pelt as possible.

"Quite well, if I dare say so." His reply was rather cheery, despite the gloomy weather, and a broad grin plastered itself to his soggy maw. There was enough space for him here, for which he was thankful, as he was eager to get off his paws and relax for a while...
But first, there was the matter of his pelt. The urge to shake the water from himself was overwhelming and he, used to life alone, was very nearly about to shake out. He only just stopped himself, not wishing to be a bother to the other that he did not know. How could one be respected and simultaneously be respectful if causing annoyance?
He bit back the annoyance and moved deeper into the cave, letting his form settle to the warm, dry floor.
"I'm fairly new here, as well. My name is Renvyle. Quite a lovely name, Faela. How long ago did you join, if I may ask? I'm afraid I don't quite have everyone memorized yet."

Nodding her head a smile creeping even further. "The rain isn't as bad as so many make it out to be. The rain feeds the earth which in turn feeds the deer and the hare who in turn feed us. It is a never ending cycle by which we live." she bowed her head and closed her eyes with acceptance. She whole-heartedly believed that cycle, though there was much more too it of course, but in order to recite it all would take her half of the night and she preferred not to bore the ears off this poor newcomer.
"It is a pleasure Renvyle and thank you, though I don't know the purpose of it." she said, wagging her black tail again. "I only joined just as spring started to set in. And I'm still just starting to get to know others as I was confined to this den for some time with an injured paw." she shrugged her shoulders, glad again that her paw had healed with no problems or infection, a blessing indeed. she settled herself and yawned slightly, rain had such a calming effect on her, and yet it bought her soul alive.
"So tell me, where did you come from? I know many who have joined here have traveled very far... like myself though my joining had not originally been planned." she asked tilting her head at him. Such interesting markings he had. She was beginning to notice more and more about him. His dark pelt almost seemed to glitter or glow with the bright fluorescent-like markings over his back and face.

"Indeed, water which nourishes life." He bobbed his head in agreement as he settled down within the spacious cavern, surprised that it wasn't filled to the brim with others seeking shelter. They would probably come later, off their own patrols. For now it was quite pleasant and he allowed himself a wash of his tongue to help remove some of the excess water from his legs and chest.
"Your paw? It is better now, I guess? Right luck that is, if so... And I come from the east and from the south a touch. It was quite a long travel and I had no direction in mind... I happened upon the pack, but knew right away that it is the place for me. I am quite content here."
If he felt her eyes studying his markings he payed no never mind to it and continued settling himself in and making acquaintances. He spoke the truth, as he was exceedingly happy here, especially now that he had a purpose again.

"Exactly!" she said brightly holding her head up a little higher. Finally someone who thought at least a little like her. Most often she had just been grumbled at for her outlook only to still hear a retort about the rain. but it never really bothered her, no one was going to ruin her love of rain storms.
She nodded her head, "Yes and I thanks those above for allowing me to have healed so well and with no complications." she said, it was a miracle since the bite had come from a feral who could have very easily been carrying any sort of infection on disease in her disgusting jaws. "I see...I come from the far south, but I love my family when I was just a pup and so I wandered for most of my life thus far." she shrugged. She remembered her first meeting with Numair, never had she though they would have crossed paths again, let alone her joining the pack he had spoken of and becoming his mate. Fate worked in funny ways.
"It is a very nice place I have to say so myself. Certainly and interesting variety of wolves here." she chuckled, oh how they came in every shape and size, ever color imaginable was here, but it made everything interesting and that's the way she liked it.

"It is quite the variety... But that does not bother me in the slightest! The values here, the core ideals of it all... It reminds me of my former pack, before their war broke out and they fell." His voice grew soft and listless as he recalled days long since past. Yes, the Order reminded him of them, his mother and father, the older wolves that helped to rear him.
They would have thrived here, if they were still amongst the living.
"It is nice to see justice and good manners amongst wolves these days, for too many packs I passed seemed to lack both." He pawed at an itch that had begun to fester behind his right ear, then settled and folded his paws neatly before himself.

"I am sorry to hear that...I lost my own family long ago when I was young. it was by pure luck I stumbled upon this pack and was taken in. I didn't have the heart to leave it." she said watching the male as he reminisced feeling bad for him. They were similar in a way, having lost their families. She had very much enjoyed traveling about on her own, searching out a purpose to find a way to search out her family if they still lived. By now though, it was becoming something she believed would never happen, if they had survived then that was a relief...but she would never know for sure.
Sniffing slightly as Renvyle, she could smell the infection and docked back her ears a bit. Wolves might have been resilient creatures, but an infection was no mater to be taken lightly. "I very much agree...some packs that I passed while traveling were quite hostile...if you do not mind, may I take a look at your ear?" she asked, unable to resist herself. Small or large she wanted to see if a healer needed to be alerted. "Better to be safe than sorry, am I right?" she chuckled lightly.

"We have similar fortunes, then, finding this place." He chuckled slightly and, though he missed his family dearly, those deceased and those still living, he doubted he could ever bring himself to leave such a strong and well meaning pack. This was his new home, though he hadn't been there long, and he planned for it to stay that way.
He settled back after scratching at the small wound behind his ear. It didn't hurt too much, yet it often itched and burned slightly to the touch. Both ears flicked slightly as she spoke and, though at first he was tempted to deny her request, he thought better of it.
No longer did he have only himself to depend on and this pack, as a majority, he was sure he could trust.
Relaxing slightly, he tilted his head to one side.
"You speak true~ I don't mind. Hopefully it isn't too bad."
