The Seashore Field!
Split down the middle between land and sea, this field compliments land and water type pokemon. On the west end of the field is the land section: fine grained sand gradually slopes downward to meet the salt water on the east end of the battleground. A single palm tree wavers lightly in the breeze (the stadium ceiling is open when this field is selected) while shells are scattered in random places in and on the sand. In the water half of the battleground, the water laps at the sand much like at a real beach; when it retracts it leaves behind strands of seaweed and pieces of coral. Both are found under the water, offering shelter for water-types (or those who can hold their breath for great periods of times). This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to GROUND and WATER type attacks.

The length of the battle field was greeted by the energetic trainer as she fixed her straw hat and denim overalls. She had not suspected a battle to take place when she was taking care of her duties for the day . . . but she could get sidetracked this once. Meeka stretched up her arms and the Pikachu riding on her head shifted as she sighed in sheer rapture. She cupped her hands over her mouth next and called to her opponent.
"Let's make this a good battle, kay?" she shouted. "I won't take it easy on you!"
Tilting her hat, Meeka took note of the shy Pikachu who refused to stop clutching at the top of her head.
"Come on Terri, it is not going to be that bad." she said to try and coax the electric rodent off.
Terri finally gave in to her trainer's voice and slid off of her head. She waddled slowly to the center of the field and sat, paws clutched to her as her head darted about.
"Piiiii . . . " she whined throughout it all, nervous for the first battle she had in such a long time.

Alice stepped up to her place. She looked around at the field. Not bad... not bad... At least it wasn't trees.
"Wouldn't expect you to take it easy on me!"
Chewy trotted around the sandy field. Sand was fun. Really good for digging holes. There was something... primal about digging holes.

"Well, here I go!~"
A small hum vibrated out of Meeka's throat as her thoughts processed. Flicking a finger up, she nodded her head and smiled.
"Terri, Volt Tackle!" she called.
The Pikachu raced down the sandy shore, kicking up debris in her wide trek towards the Poochyena. All the while, electric energy fizzed her fur and shrouded her in a thick yellow veil.

The electric rodent bolted across the sandy beach at Chewy. Alice shouted a command and Chewy started digging furiously in the sand. He hadn't made it all the way underground when the pikachu tackled him. He let out a grunt, and kept digging. He sniffed the air, there, if he dug right there, the pikachu would be in for a surprise. ((dig=super effective+field bonus)) 700/800

Okay so . . . ground attacks hurt, especially when it comes from right beneath you and you get hit square in the bum. Terri wasn't expecting it to hurt that much and rubbed her rumpus while growing teary-eyed. She was ready to burst eye crying until Meeka ordered a Surf.
The tide of the beach swelled before large waves began lapping their way onto the sand. Suddenly, Terri raced for the waves and found herself atop it, kawabunga-ing towards Chewy with impeccable speeds.

Chewy's jaw dropped as the towering wave came crashing towards him. He was tossed to and fro under the wave, coming to a stop when it retreated back into the rest of the water. Dizzy and soggy, Chewy tunneled back into the now muddy ground. Alice had ordered another dig attack. 575/800

Territe landed upon the soaked sand and patted around in a haste to avoid whatever attack Chewy had next. She was oblivious to him underground and was hit with the Dig attack when she was least expecting it. It was pretty obvious now, Ground attacks suck. A lot. Territe retaliated with a Volt Tackle as a ping of anger struck her body.

Chewy yelped as the ball of lightning rammed into him. His fur stood on end, and his limbs were buzzing. Quickly, the little dog burrowed back underground, intent on both getting away from the horrible electric rodent and on delivering another bout of ground-flavored retaliation. (dig) 475/800

After getting hit with the ground attack, Terri took control of the rising tide and retaliated with a Surf. She hoped to drown the little mutt, the ground attacks were becoming a pest!

Chewy, again, got washed back by the surf. His fur was caked with mud, so much so that he looked to be nothing more than a walking ball of it. He dug back under ground, determined to win this time. 350/800
