March 10, 2010 - First Meeting
Page 389 - 393
Nanaki: *raises eyebrow at Rian then turns his attention to the pretty female* Why hello there miss.
Yuri: "ummm....hi?" she said and she backed away shyly.
Nanaki: *sits down and swishes his tail* "Are you from around here?"
Yury: "i am new" she said as she watched his tail swish around
Nanaki: *grins* "I'm new here too. Where are you from?" *admires her pretty fur while attempting to hide the fact that he is doing so*
Yury: "the Oasis" Yury said quietly looking away as her tall moved closer to her body. She then looked back at him studying his appearance.
Nanaki: "I don't think I've ever been to the Oasis." he says as he ponders about all of the places he's travelled too trying to remember if he'd been to such a place before. "I'm from the Sanid Mountains. Have you ever been there?" he asks her while avoiding eye contact with her as she took in his appearance, he didn't want to embarrass her or scare her off.
Yury noticed he had scars and other odd marking her never seen before. "it is a small place in the desert, where tall grass and trees grow, there also a beautiful water hole there." she said softly then paused for a little "i never been to the mountains.... i am scared of high up places and i never wonder to far off from the Oasis since i am terrified of the thing that lurk in the desert." Yurys ears dropped down just the thought of thinking about it.
Nanaki tilted his head as she spoke of the Oasis thinking that it would be quite a fine place to visit and he wondered how close they were to the place she called her home. When she spoke of being afraid of heights and something that lurked in the desert his eyes flashed with excitement.
"The mountains aren't all that bad really, it doesn't seem like you're so high up unless you look over a cliff or something. I come from a small valley near the river so there wasn't too many high places I could go like that unless I went exploring for a few days at a time. The mountains are really pretty too... especially when the sun rises and sets." he explained to her as best as he could the beauty of his home but knew no words could ever do it justice.
His attention then refocused on the creature she had spoken of. "That creature that lurks in the desert... have you seen it before? Does anyone know what it looks like?" His ears and tail twitched with curiousity and he fidgeted as if he wanted to go find the thing right at that moment.
"They do sound nice but i don't know...."Yury said in a shiver "I just don't think i could do.....i would to scared. I mean, i am even to scared to claim up a tree! and for the Creature" she paused again think really hard, "I never really see it before but they are rumors of it. And sometimes when i am chasing fireflies i can feel something watching me"
Nanaki smiled gently at her and stepped a little closer to her, his tail swishing against her shoulder in a way that was meant to comfort her and make her fears go away. "I understand what you mean about the mountains, they aren't for everyone... just like the forest I went too once wasn't for me."
As he listened to her explain about the creature his face scrunched up in confusion. "So... no one is really sure what it looks like? Why is it so scary then, if no one has seen it?" he tilted his head, thoroughly confused on how someone could be afraid of something they'd never seen or even knew really existed.
"why was the forest not for you?" Yury wondered. "And even tho no one has seen it don't mean it isn't dangerous. I just have a bad feeling about it and it scares me...." she said in a shiver.

March 11, 2010 - Another encounter
Page 413 - 422
Nanaki: *spies the female he was talking with yesterday and approaches her* "Hello again miss."
Yury: "oh hi" she said kindly
Nanaki: *dips his head to the pretty lady* "I do believe I forgot to introduce myself yesterday. I'm Nanaki." *swishes his tail and waits to see if she'll feel comfortable enough to introduce herself*
Yury paused for a second and looked up am him and smiled. " Hi, Nanaki...i am Yury"
Nanaki: "It's nice to meet you Yury. Now... about that desert creature... I don't think you'd have anything to worry about if you were with me. So if you ever get a whim to travel, let me know." he winked at her and grinned then swished his tail playfully.
Yury blushes slightly and looked away. "Thank you so much. and i will keep that in mine. Plus it does look like you have had some battles in your days" She commented since she notice his scares.
Nanaki: *dips his head and looks away so his bad side, with the missing eye, is away from her* "Well... that'd be true. I have seen quite a few battles in my life and it's not over yet so I'm still expecting a few more." his voice was somber as he reflected on just how many fights he had been in.
"i am sorry, i hope i didn't bring up anything i shouldn't have"yury said as she dropped her head and ears. "And you don't have to side your scares since i already seen them and i don't think they are scary or anything." she spoke in a low voice.
Nanaki: *slowly turns so he is facing her again* "Don't worry about it, I'm not upset I was just thinking about the past. So... what do you do for fun around here anyway?"

Nanaki: *walks over to Yury and smiles* "Hi there Yury, how are you doing?"
Yury looks up to see Nanaki and smiles at him. " Hi, Nanaki. i am fine , you?"
Nanaki: "I'm doing well, a little antsy but other than that I'm just fine." he spoke as he flicked his tail unconsciously. He was feeling more than a little antsy but he was trying not to let it show.
yury looked up at him and spoke, "why is that, Nanaki?" Her ears flickered as she tilted her head to the side in confession. Yury was really denise and couldn't pick on clues and hint even if her life depended on it.
Nanaki: "I'm just feeling a little bored is all, everything is so tranquil here and I'm used to action and excitement... I'm finding this place to be a little... dull... compared to home." he put his ears down as he spoke showing that he didn't mean any offense by what he said, he didn't want to upset Yury, she was his only friend in this place.
"oh i see. i am sorry our land is boring for you."she said sadly. " i know you like to fight and what not but i never even seen a fight before. plus this land is big that most of us can life our full lives with out seeing many Shakaiyo." she spoke softly.
Nanaki shook his head when she spoke. "No, you're misunderstanding. I'm not upset because there is no one to fight, I just want to go exploring or on some sort of adventure or mission... it's what I'm used too. Not having anything to do is very disconcerting for me." he looked her in the eyes and tried to convey what he was really feeling to her rather than let her carry on believing he thought her home was unexciting.
Yury stood up and shoots the dirt from her coat. She then walked a few feet away from Nanaki then finally turned her head to him and spoke. "Well, lets o do something then." Yury said with a smile.
Nanaki looked down at his paws as she walked away from him and his ears pricked when she spoke but it took him a few moments to comprehend what she had said. Lifting his gaze to look at her he tried to keep a straight face but his eyes sparkled with his excitement. He hadn't thought her to be the type to go exploring, no, in fact, he had placed her as a female who enjoyed the comfort and security of a slow, sheltered life. Apparently he had been wrong. Quickly he walked to her side "Is there anywhere you'd like to go that you haven't been too before?" he asked, wanting to make sure it would be as exciting for her as it would be for him.
"Honestly i have no clue what to do. Most of the time i just get lost from chasing butterflies" She said nervously. Yury started to think of what they could do since it was her idea. "Well i haven't gone swimming is awhile and i know there is a beach somewhere. Since i never been there wanna go?" Yury asked has she wagged her tail.
Nanaki's expression quickly changed to one that would rival the Cheshire Cat's at her suggestion. Though swimming wasn't necessarily his favorite thing to do, what with the fire on his tail to watch out for, he was excited to be traveling to somewhere new. It occurred to him they would need to cross the desert which would allow him the possibility of encountering whatever creature it was that had Yury so frightened that she didn't like to go adventuring on her own.
"That sounds like a wonderful idea!" he nodded approvingly but he kept quiet about his excitement at the prospect of encountering the scary desert dweller, he didn't want to frighten Yury and make her change her mind.
"then is is settled" she said smiling.Yury was quite nervous leaving her home since she never had before but she knew with Nanaki by her self she had nothing to worry about. Yury knew of she got into trouble Nanaki would be there to protect her. So with this thought she grew enough courage to explore.
