Kituko knew that it was true. She didn't want to believe it, but with the pure fact that it was so hard to find her brother made it so hard to take in the truth. Even if it was staring at her straight in the face.

After quite a trial, as mortals never accepted Kituko well, she was able to figure out just where Kimbilio was. With a sigh, she wondered just what made her brother choose to let himself go. How could he let himself become a mortal? What was Kituko going to do when he died? Would he even get the chance to see her after she broke the curse? If she was able to break the curse?

She let her little paws carry her, as flying didn't seem like a comfortable idea. It let her mind wander as her paws guided her, bird-bat combined wings folded tightly against her sides. Her dark eyes, so deep and yet not reflective, glanced around as she invisibly made her way through all these pridal lions, sporting their tattoos and children. It made her shiver, something that was so foreign to her, and the fact that it was so hard for her to trust anyone.

Finally, she was able to spot him. Even if he was just a mortal now, he was easy to tell; everything about him was the same. The wing markings felt odd, knowing that he didn't have them anymore. Kituko loved her wings, and how protected she felt with them. How could he live without them?

She whispered in his ear to meet with her later, to an area where the two of them could be alone. She instantly went over there, as there was nothing else for her to do at this point. Nothing at all, and it ate at her stomache.

Finally, when the sun was beginning to set, Kimbilio wandered to the area where he was told to go. He didn't startle when he saw his sister appear befor ehim, but he was still concerned. The curse still wasn't broken, and she was still just a bit more than a child. "Kituko..."

Kituko could feel her eyes wet with tears. She did her best not to shed any, but it was inevitable with how emotional she felt seeing her brother like this. "Kimbi!" she cried, and buried herself in his chest.

"Kit...what's wrong?" he asked, trying to comfort her to no avail. Something was wrong and he had a good idea of what it was.

"You left us!" she cried. "I know we're not together as a family anymore, but now we never will be again!" She knew she was being childish, but she couldn't help herself. It wasn't fair at all, and she wanted to confront him on the subject. She figured that there was nothing that he could do at this point, as it was already done. Still, didn't he even think about them, and how they'd feel? What about Mother?

Kimbi sighed, but kept his sister close to him. It was odd, even being a mortal he was still larger than her. It was hard sometimes not to think of her as a little sister, even if they were the same age. He looked in her face, trying to look behind her powers. He was only seeing his siblings dead, the love of his life dead, the pride decimated, slavery....

SHaking his head to rid himself of the latent fears that fell deep within his heart, he still did his best to look at her. THey weren't real, only involuntary reflections that Kituko couldn't help. It was even worse than normal with how upset she was. "Kit, there are a lot of reasons that I did it. I never meant to hurt you or our siblings or Mother," he replied, giving her small nuzzles. "I did it for a pride to survive, for their history to stay fresh in their minds. It was something that I felt needed to be done." There were many different factors, including the fact that he felt he would be a terrible god for something as serious as refugees. He knew that it was what he was meant to be, but how long would it have taken him to really be what they needed him to be? He couldn't hold that over them, and here was the perfect candidate to be just what anyone needed; Tawa'di.

Kituko sniffled. "Maybe," she pouted. "I bet that there's somethinge else you're not telling me," she grumbled, so hard to believe that she would be almost cast aside like that. "I feel so alone now," she shook her head.

Kimbi looked a little disappointed at her. Kituko had been so much, sometimes he wondered why she was still acting a little childish. "Well, yeah, I'll be honest there's someone here that I like. And I don't want to watch her die and me live forever remembering that."

Kituko cut in, "But now I have to do that!" she cried, feeling angry.

Kimbi gave her a bit of a jolt to get her to snap out of her anger spell. "But that's not the major reason. I swear to it, okay?" he said, looking straight at her. It was hard, seeing her face contorted like that, still reflecting those same death fears. Suddenly, he saw himself dead, with still a little Kituko over his body, mourning for him. It startled him so much he tripped backwards, landing on his back with a grunt.

Kituko wasn't sure what happened, only knowing that it was something stupid to do with her powers. SHe rushed towards him, using a wing to block ehr face to his. "What was it?" she said, knowing that what others saw wasn't even close to a prophecy, only something that they themselves worried would happen in their life.

Kimbi shook his head. "Nothing, nothing," he said as he gathered himself up again. It was still weird not to have wings to catch you when you fell, but he was managing. "Nothing that'll happen, it's okay," he said, trying to smile to get Kit to relax. It wasn't working, but he continued to do so anyway. "I just want you to know that I'm always here for you," he commented, reaching his head down to nuzzle her. "Have you had any luck in figuring out how to break that curse?"

Kituko shook her head. "I haven't been able to find him yet," she said sadly. "Not like I'm strong enough to even do what I think needs to happen." How was she going to kill him? Her father? Not that she cared about him and who he was, but she wasn't strong enough to even get close to such a creature as him.

Kimbi looked down. "I'm sorry about that," he said, knowing that he wasn't able to help at all. He didn't even know anything about his father, but it wasn't like he tried to when he was still an immortal. "Let me know if there's anyhting I can do," he said, knowing that there wouldn't really be anything but emotional support to offer her.

She uncovered her face, just a bit, and looked up at him with just one eye. It was creepy, still, and he felt horrible for feeling that way, but it was alwyas impossible to tell just which direction she was looking in. "Thanks," Kit replied, just a peek of a smile showing from outside of her wing.

He patted her on the head, something she hated. She gave him a little warning grown before pouncing on him, just enough force to get him knocked onto the ground. The both of them laughed, Kituko feeling a little more relaxed.

After they quieted down, Kituko whispered, "I still wish you hadn't." Kimbilio looked sad, and gave her a little nuzzle. "I'm sorry," he replied, nothing else for him to offer her in terms of what his actions had done. They were premanent, and he was going to live with these consequences until he died.

Odd, he had never thought about death until speaking to Kituko today. It was mildly terrifying, as that would be the end for him. He held Kituko close, waiting for her to doze off into sleep. They would part again in the morning, living their seperate lives, only tied by one small string now.
