Quirrel blinked water from his lashes, feathers glistening as he shook, sending droplets snapping away from them. The shower had been short and light yet he had still managed to find himself caught in it. The evening sky now darkened with rolling clouds and as dark eyes glided across the horizon the world seemed to have a grey tinge. Giving his feathered mane one last shake, Quirrel stepped out from beneath the tree that had proven to be too little shelter too late. I had been awhile since he had visited these lands. The sloping hills and lush plains were obvious enough a give away to where he was just as much as the foreign scents of now unfamiliar soquili. He paused in his travel as nostalgia took him. Yes, he thought offhandedly, it was certainly good to be back, even for only a moment.

Lior was in some major trouble now, she had wandered away from her mother again, chasing after Orion as he chased some silly little butterfly. Then, the rain had started and she'd lost track of her brother and now was soaking wet. He little wings were clinging to her back, and her mane was a mess around her neck, she generally hated water, now she was fuming, and for such a stupid reason. It was just a little rain, but it was seriously messing with her natural good looks! Nothing good could come of her foal mood now, or at least that's what she thought, until something colorful caught her attention.
She shook herself herself try, in one small motion, and it only helped a bit, making her mane look curly because of the rain. She wanted to look somewhat normal when she approached the lovely creature she spotted not far off. Having a mother like Edel, Lior was taught to love and respect anything beautiful, and the stallion certainly qualified as lovely!
Her small wings fluttered happily as she pranced off toward the stallion, she approached him with her head held high, hoping he wouldn't think she was just some average, silly, filly. "It looks like you got caught in the rain too sir!" She spoke with a sophisticated voice, though you could hear her eagerness right through it. She'd never met her father before, so this was the first full grown stallion she'd ever run into.
"My name is Lior! What's yours sir?" She had a bright smile across her face, and she examined all the different colored feathers in his mane. He was certainly the prettiest thing out here!

Quirrel paused mid-step, hoof hovering a moment before he brought it back to earth, brows risen in mild surprise at the little filly before him. He'd hardly expected to run into anyone in such weather, as short lived as it was, let alone a lone foal. Eyes scanned the area a brief second to confirm this before settling back on the filly. She was absolutely tiny compared to himself, her mane curling, heavy with moisture still clinging to the air and Quirrel couldn't stop the slight up-turning of his lips at the sight.
Shifting his weight he chuckled at her use of suffix, unable to recall the last time he'd been called 'sir' by foal or peer. "Lior," he repeated the name, as much to commit it to memory as an attempt to regain the fillys attention, her silver eyes unabashedly fixed on bright feathers, "a pretty name. I'm called Quirrel." he nodded his head once in greeting.
Taking a step now, Quirrel paused, an open invitation for Lior to accompany him.

Lior's eyes focused back on the stallion's when he said her name. She was surprised to realize she'd been staring, and her mother had always taught her to never be rude like that, but she really couldn't help herself, she absolutely adored the stallion before her, and was quite pleased to hear him say her name, and that it was such a pretty name! Sure, she already knew this, but it was nice to hear it from someone that was lovely themselves. It turned out that he had a unique name, and she found it very suiting to his appearance.
"Your name is pretty too Quirrel!" Not that she knew his name, she didn't feel the need to call him sir. He seemed friendly enough, and she knew a few other that didn't even like to be called sir! So, with formalities out of the way she dropped the odd title.
He took a step forward, and for a second she was worried he was going to leave her behind. She really wished to go with him, and her wished was granted when he paused and she took that as her invitation to join him. She smiled and started to walk along side him. "So, where are we headed? Is there anything in particular you were looking for?" She asked, after all she knew the surrounding lands like the backs of her hooves!

A brief grin made its way across Quirrel's muzzle, nought more than the barest upturning of lips, at Lior's near child-like exuberance at such a small compliment. Glancing towards the filly, he supposed the assessment was more than fair. Compared to his own tall form she was absolutely tiny, completely dwarfed by his height.
He allowed his eyes to linger in his appraisement before focusing back on the trail-less path before him. She would certainly grow to be a fine mare, a source of envy for others and pride for whoever may win her affections.
"No where in particular," Quirrel replied thoughtfully, avoiding a rather large and muddy puddle "Though not far, with consideration to present company. I doubt your mother would approve of me stealing you away, hm?" Though he didn't smile, blue eyes crinkled slightly in amusement.

So he was just a random wanderer hm? Did that mean, that after Lior had to leave to rejoin her mother, she might never see him again? Well! It was too soon for her to be worrying about things like that anyway, she had her whole life to meet interesting soquili like him. Her mother would be scolding her hard for such thoughts, and there was Orion to worry about. He wouldn't get along very well without her. Silly brother.
But for now, she might was well enjoy herself. "Well, my mother would be a bit cross if I didn't come home on time again, but she's fairly used to that by now." Which was true, apparently Edel's first son had been a bit of a wanderer too, and considering her grew up to be a fairly lovely, decent stallion, Edel couldn't see the harm in her foals learning about the world on their own a bit. And although Lior never went too far, she was already learning a good bit about the world on her own.
"As long as we stay away from the beach!" She hated the beach, and just about any large bodies of water. She trotted along quickly beside his big steps. She'd gladly stick next to him until night, then she'd bounce off to her mother.

"My condolences to your mother then," Quirrel replied, voice light with a smile. Eyes swept from the lovely little filly at his side to fat grey clouds, still bloated with water despite the earlier shower.
He'd missed this, the ease of another's company. Even one as young as Lior. Perhaps it was time to begin settling, for the next foal to walk by his side to be of his own kin. He hesitated a moment at that thought, hoof paused precariously above a deep puddle. Oh, he was in trouble if this feisty little foal had left such an impression on him to have him even considering such a thing.
His attention quickly focused back on his company as Lior continued speaking, resuming his pace. Ripples spread across the waters surface where his hooves walked over it.
"Hm? Why is that?" Though he could share her sentiments normally; The unobscured and unforgiving sun made the beach rather uncomfortable with his dark pelt and scales that absorbed the heat till they scalded.

Lior took a moment to think about her mother, who was probably keeping a close eye on her scatterbrained brother. She had an odd relationship with her family, where she protected her brother and he was the one that goofed around and got into messes he couldn't get out of on his own. Still, she did lover her family and would return to her mother eventually. Just, maybe an hour or so late. She was having too much fun with this interesting stallion to give him up just yet.
"Well, I'm just not comfortable being around such a large body of water..." It was a bit hard for her to confess her fears. She hated the ocean, the thought of what could be lurking just beneath the surface, something that probably wanted to eat her and anything else that wandered into it's depths. The thought of it made her shudder, and walk closer to the stallion at her side. She casted an uneasy glance in the direction of the ocean, and then back in the direction they were headed.
"Besides, if we go this way, I'm sorta heading home and then, when I have to leave I won't have as far to travel." She didn't like the night too much either, though she could handle it considerably better then her father could. She was just conscious of every little noise out there. "So, do you travel for a living? My mother used to do that. Until she met some stallion and then she had my old siblings. Danae and Aquila. She settled down after that, and happened across some poor fellow that just happened to be my father. But, he disappeared one night. You could say my mother hasn't had much luck with Stallions. But, she loves her kids." She smiled, thinking of all the wonderful stories her mother had to tell. She'd like to travel seriously one day as well. But, she'd try to stay away from creepy, jerk-ish, stallions.
