I thought about putting this in the art subforum since because of the reference pictures... but since this is a cosplay-related thread...

For instance, if you wanted to dress up as Cirno... the Japanese have already imagined what she would look like if she were a guy.

You'll probably score less in contests for doing such an unusual variation on an originally female character... but cosplay is supposed to be about FUN, right?

But seeing a big beefy guy with obvious facial hair and/or a weight problem wearing a dress is.

I was referring more to Sailor Bubba and the Touhou genderswap fanarts where the characters are drawn in a super-manly art style but with their female outfits still on. Someone even did a Yukkuri Shitteitte Ne parody in that style. >.<

I generally try to avoid looking at real-life crossdressing pictures because most feature guys who look like... guys. sweatdrop

Anyway, the point of this thread was to post Touhou genderswap reference pics, and the cosplay outfits inspired by the pics. I even found a female Rinnosuke for the girls here to cosplay, though the only noticeable difference would be the hairstyle. sweatdrop

I love the displeased expressions on Alice's face in the Male Marisa/Female Alice pictures... "YOU AREN'T THE WOMAN I FELL IN LOVE WITH!" rofl

There's two pictures with Rinnosuke, one of which has Marisa looking up her dress.

But I'm guessing nobody wants to do real-life Touhou cosplay by making male outfits similar enough in appearance to the chararcter's normal outfits to be recognizable.
