 Cascade's small form twitched with impatience. The little, blue and yellow pup was eager to do something other than fish. Or rather, something other than flounder uselessly in the shallows of the river while others attempted to fish for what she hadn't scared away.
The sun was rising, rays peeking through the tall trees, sending waves of light and dancing shadows across the earth. In an attempt to divert her attention from pestering her mother so early, she set about "killing" them viciously with her "skillful moves" and "startling grace." In her own mind, she was owning the imaginary fiends quite well, but to any onlooker she appeared to be just another young, highly imaginative, clumsy pup.
Finally, bored even of that little game, she set about whining.
"Mama? Mama? You up?"

Tae was notoriously restless in the evenings, she had never slept well since she was a young adult, after having been though the stressful event of a forest fire and having lost her first true love to it and then waking with little memory born from the severe fatigue she felt after escaping the fire to a secure place. Thus sleep had never really been a comforting release from her; that came from her frequent wanderings. Thus she lay there peacefully, her eye lids resting in a lazy position half way over her eyes, her head resting on her fore paws she watched one of her daughters play with herself, chasing the morning shadows it seemed.
She smiled to herself, she was now past her prime bordering upon what some may call elderly, some days of which she felt her age but usually she still felt incredibly young; though she believed that was aided through the tender love of her mate and the liveliness of offspring. Nimue was a handful and though Nereus was a little more sedate and not dissimilar from his father he had his moments also but both were grown now and therefore she had less control over their choices though of course she’d always be there for them. The relationship with Butter was flawless, tension only seemed to grow when she felt a need to ‘disappear’ for longer times than usual but he understood. He made a perfect father and nothing seemed to make him happier and prouder and Tae had therefore gifted him with another litter.
Cascade seemed to grow bored of her game and therefore targeted her frustration out on her mother. She pretended to wake up, as if her daughter had disturbed her and yawned in mock play and then focused on her little girl. ‘Of a sorts.’ She said tiredly and then smiled at her daughter and a little humour entered her voice, ‘What is it you want, hm?’

At first the youngster was a bit apprehensive, worried that she might be bothering Tae a bit too much if she was deep in rest. The tone in her mother's voice told her differently, however, and her little tail immediately set about to wagging.
"Mama, can we go do somethin' today? Can we? I wanna do somethin' fun." She plodded towards the old wolf, nuzzling against her dark pelt with a playful fondness. Sure, there was probably plenty enough to do not too far from the others, but life felt stagnant to the smaller creature. It wasn't exactly like she had much to compare her current state to, but she was bored. And when she became bored, she was more than a little bit antsy.
She was having a craving, no, thirst for something adventurous and, possibly, dangerous.

Tae chuckled softly at the pups abundance of energy, it was funny how so many of her pups seemed to contain that element of independence and eagerness to explore, it was a good trait to have she believed as long as it was married with intelligence to avoid the possible dangers that came with such things. She twisted slightly so as the pup nuzzled her side she fell just that little bit deeper into her, relying on her mothers support for balance. She twisted her gazed over her shoulder and looked down at Cass. ‘Something fun…’ she mused, prolonging her answer to increase the pups anticipation, watching as she grew ‘ictchy’ and then smiling she finally produced and answer for the young pup, ‘How about we go further into the packs territory, there are lots of other pups about at the moment, you could meet them?’
((Sorry it's such a lame post and that it's taken me so long, I've moved flats recently and have been on holiday thus I havn't been on Gaia for a month...))

She lost her balance as her mother shifted, pressing against her for support. She couldn't help but giggle slightly as she balanced and pushed back onto all four of her own paws, her tail wagging excitedly. She dropped forward, rump sticking high in the air as she bowed playfully towards the older wolf, grinning and growling in a rather puppish way.
"Oh, Mama! That sounds like a lot of fun, yep, it does! I wanna meet some other pups!"
( Same! It's been a rough, cross country move for me. Trying to get back into the swing of it! )

Tae watched with a genuine smile decorating her silver flecked maw and then as Cass stuck her butt into the air, wiggling about playfully Tae concurred to her daughters request of something new and fun to do. She rose from where she had been resting and then in a fluid motion much like water running it's course she leapt playfully into the air, pouncing down upon the ground mere inches away from her daughter and then grinned and leapt away encouraging the pup to leap after her. Tae knew there had been a few births within the pack recently though generally avoided the central areas of the packs territory for while she didn't dislike her mate's family she merely was slightly uncomfortable around numerous other wolves after a long life of roaming by herself for she had never found fault with her own company. It was to the heart of the pack now she would venture, hopefully she could find Cass a small play mate and she could watch over the young play harmlessly for a while, tiring one another out and sedating their hungry for excitement.
She turned and looked over her shoulder at that point looking to see is Cass had taken her up on her dare of 'bet you can't catch me', she smiled encouragingly at her pup and provoked, 'Come one then!'

A thrill ran through Cascade's small, stubby frame as her mother consented to her requests for an adventure, or what at least seemed like an adventure of epic proportions, to such an eager youngster. As Tae landed before her, only a hair's breadth away from her nose tip, the pup stumbled backwards, grinning broadly. She was quick to pounce after her, her slightly too large and slightly too clumsy paws, which she would quickly grow into as the seasons passed, getting in the way of any speed or grace she could possibly posses at that age. There was, however, no mistaking that the pup was content with her lot in life, despite showing little promise in fishing thus far. She scrambled after Tae, her tail a cheerful banner as it wagged behind her on it's own accord.
"Coming!"
And she was doing just that as she let herself be egged on into chasing after the wolf that spawned her. Eager and determined, she would do her best to keep up.
