Call me Hattress

Call me Law

So, one of my best friends told me a couple of weeks ago that she wanted to get a tattoo before spring break, and she asked me to go with her. Naturally, I said "Of course dear." Then I got home that night and starting thinking that, if I was going to be sitting with her while she got her tattoo, why not get one myself? I've wanted one for a while now, and I might not have another opportunity like this one. So, yesterday (after my adventure with Claire's AiW stuffs), we went to the parlor, fully expecting to have to make an appointment and come back in a couple of weeks, and were surprised when the artist said "Oh, we can do these today."
So, now Hattress has three stars on her right leg, and her very good friend has a Shakespeare quote on her side. ("There is beggary in the love that can be reckoned")
And then we decided that since we were already there and I had already told my boyfriend that I would be getting by belly button pierced sometime in the near future (to which he said "you won't have the balls to do it"), that I would just go ahead and do it right then. So, now I have three stars on my right leg and a hole in my belly with a shiny thing sticking through it. *Cannot wait until it's healed so I can change it to an even shinier one*

Oh my! Those are pretty!
Pain scale?
I bet the one on your hip hurt the worst...it looks like it's right next to the bone (or right on it...no. next to.), not to mention that that's generally a more sensitive area anyway....
Yikes.
Very cute though!
And how dare he say you wouldn't have the balls to get a long pointy thing shoved through your belly skin!
I hope yours doesn't get infected or have any other problems! Mine did and oh my GOD it hurt like HELL!
Don't EVER skip a cleaning. And I would advise investing in some Dial antibacterial soap. It really is the best. And salt water soaks/sprays will help too! And they don't sting like you would expect them too! Just take really good care of it, please! I don't want you to go through the same pain that I did!

Thanks Laurel!
And actually, the one right above my knee hurt the worst. I thought the one on my hip would hurt the most too, but it was about the same as the middle one.
As for the belly hole, I intend to make a publix/walmart run as soon as I can to get some good soap, and I have a salt water spray to use and I don't intend on skipping any cleanings. My sister got hers pierced a couple years ago and it got infected and ended up taking over a year to heal. Granted, I'm a faster healer than she is anyway, but I don't deal well with pain (hahaha, right?) so I'm gonna do my absolute best to keep it clean.
As for the pain scale...
The first tattoo (the green star) hurt the absolute worst, but I'm not sure if that was more because of where it is or because it was the first one and I wasn't quite used to the pain yet. I'm sure it's a combination of both though.
Overall, for the tattoos, I'd say it was 6-7 on a scale of 10, with some instances spiking to 8-9. Granted, that scale is based on pain that I've felt before, so I'm sure that later in life I would rate them differently (after having a kid, I'm sure the numbers here would drop...).
The belly piercing...well, you know how much that hurts. But the guy that did it said that I have tough skin, which made it hurt worse...I'd say that was probably a 9, but it was a very quick 9, and doesn't hurt at all right now unless I make sudden movements involving my stomach, or if I bend over too much...

And I think I'm gonna try to wear a dress tomorrow...assuming I have one that doesn't have a waistband right at my hips. Wait...I do! Two of them actually! So I shall wear those for the next couple days, 'cause this whole waist band thing is totally not cool....Ah well, at least I get to sit down most of the day so I can kinda pull the waistband down a little so it's not right on top of the pretty blue star....

*Is very glad that it'll be warm enough to wear skirts/dresses all week. I'd die if I had to wear jeans/pants this week...*

Totally just realized that parts of my workout routine are not gonna be possible until my belly hole is healed....ab workouts + open wound = LOTS more pain than necessary. Sorry abs, but you're gonna have to wait for a while. Butt and arms will just get toned faster than I had planned. And hopefully some of those workouts will keep my abs from getting too far off schedule...

O.O
Oh. My. God.
Kitty! Those are so YOU!
I can't believe you actually did it!
Wow!

*Wishes it was warm enough to wear skirts and dress this week...but lucky you! That would be killer to have to wear pants with those tats*
Too bad about your ab workouts...but another word of warning, if your other workouts stretch your stomach at all, I'd advise against them as well. Anything that causes your new hole any pain while it's healing won't be fun. So be careful not to overwork it. And, for your dresses, just make sure that the waistband isn't around your belly button! Use the salt spray at least a few times a day! You don't have to use it just when you're doing your cleanings. Use it at the cleanings and then between cleanings as well! And, no matter how much it hurts, don't forget to turn the ring! And I promise, it WILL hurt. So much that you'll wonder why in the world you let yourself do that to your body. But it'll only be worse if you don't turn it.

Oh my gosh I know!
I'm in so much pain today though...and my poor skirt has blue ink/grossness on the waistline, but it'll wash out....
Just working on keeping the tats greased and the hole salted.
But the two lower stars are already starting to scab, which I don't think is normal...I've heard that it's supposed to take at least a couple of days...ah well. I have to run to the store and get some good soap and some scentless lotion. And some Q-tips or cotton balls...

If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense.
Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't.

>_<
Owww
You're a braver woman than I
Congrats! The stars are cute.
I like the kind of blue used for the blue one, it's nice
Can't see the belly hole, though!
D=
It says it violates PhotoBuckets Terms of Use
=/
But the stars are very nice, ^_^

And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be.
And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?

Cool tats. I'm going to get a red heart with the word "Jokes" on a banner around it, because ironic tattoos are fun for 40 or more years. That's a scientific fact. I'm a scientist.
