Ryoko's not very confident in herself. She doesn't consider herself pretty, or talented, or intelligent and she's easily intimidated around men or beautiful women. However, she sees this as motivation to improve on herself, and will systematically subject herself to her worst skill sets until she feels she's made the proper amount of improvement. She's very determined in her goals, which is to achieve the honor of being a Shirabyoshi performer and master her most desired skills. However, she doesn't deal with bullying well, and since she recognizes most as her better she will quickly give in an any confrontation. In terms of conviction, naivete and confidence she has a lot of maturing to do. Still, she believes that with enough hard work she can overcome anything and once she's become a Shirabyoshi, all her problems will vanish.
◆Skills: Ryoko's right hand was crushed when she was a child. For the most part it healed but her fingers lack the dexterity of a normal person. Because of this, her calligraphy, sewing, and cleaning are sub par no matter how much she tries to refine those skills. However, she's excellent at composing poetry in spite of her inability to write it down beautifully and her comprehension is outstanding for her amount of schooling. Her focus is dancing, though she hasn't actually attempted such yet, that's the one thing she wants to be good at so she often ends up taking her poetry and schooling for granted.
◆History: Ryoko comes from a small home, where she lived less then comfortably with her family, including her many older siblings. With the exception of the eldest, who's also a girl, the rest of Ry's siblings are all boys and older then her by a notable amount of years. Her father was recently impoverished when she was born and and was still adjusting to his new life, and there is some whispered gossip of a scandal on the part of his wife. As Ry grew older, her eyes turned a rare hazel green and her features resembled neither her mother nor her supposed father, though her mother persistently claims she is her husband's daughter. The common theory is she strayed when his wealth and their lifestyle was lost to spite him, but Ry knows nothing of this. Her father doesn't either, or he's in denial, because the man has always treasured his youngest daughter regardless.
Ryoko has always dreamed of being allowed in the ranks of the Shirabyoshi, endlessly admiring their skill, grace, and status. From a very young age she decided that no matter what, she would better herself until she was worthy to be a performer with these talented ladies and have the honor of entertaining nobility. Now that she's just recently been moved to the Shirabyoshi compound as a maid, she's more optimistic then ever she'll reach her goals.
