Alright now I'm going to say my opinion on this. What Carl did was VERY wrong. He's on the Dog(duck) House now. In no way shape or for was this right for the following reasons

-Carl was 100+ laps down
-It is Atlanta this is almost 200MPH speeds.
-He could have seriously hurt Brad Kezy (Like hell I'm going to try spelling that last name.)

And if ANY of you think I'm wrong. Try to get through to me. I'm going to bite back. Not just fight I will bite.

I agree 120% queen...what carl did was very, very wrong. You don't do snit (intentionally spelled wrong) like that PERIOD. I don't care if they spun you out earlier, settle it like men after the race. People on facebook commented under the Jeff Gordon fan page when they updated it and I agree with the people that Carl should sit at least one race, get a penalty or something of that venture. I thought Carl was a nice guy, but all my respect for him went out the window today. He's going to have to do a WHOLE LOT MORE to gain my respect back.

The fact that I'm a Roush fan aside, I think the whole idea of the suspension thing is getting blown out of proportion. Fact is, if that 12 stayed on it's wheels like so many other wrecking cars have in the past in that type of front stretch, this would have been nothing more than a, "Oh well, another torn up race car incident".

I'm just repeating what I've heard, but he could have seriously hurt Keselowski though, or there could have been another repeat of Talladega, and he didn't make himself look any better by driving backwards on pit road.

Yeah, I thought that was a little odd too. It was bad enough that he caused a freak accident, but why didn't he just drive an extra lap?

It does matter that he did it at a track where the speeds are VERY high. Carl could have waited till Bristol to do that and it would have been ok. It's not for the fact that the 12 flipped, it's the fact that he did it at ATLANTA! The fastest track of the season. What Nascar does with this I will agree with what they do. My mom is Carl Edwards fan and she even thinks what Nascar does will be the right call. I'm sure she's less of a Carl Edwards fan now. You don't spin some out at that high of speeds and expect to get away with it. It also didn't help Carl that he was wearing white gloves so we could CLEARLY see him turn right. Even though I kinda figured he did it anyway.

Question for you all: Has NASCAR ever suspended a driver for a race due to on-track antics? I know of suspensions for substance abuse or equipment violations, but aggressive driving?

Well depends on what you call the Kurt Busch almost hitting a crew member on pit road because he was mad at Tony Stewart aggressive driving. If so he was suspended for 2 races

I think it was actually kind of funny after all was said and done. This is what nascar wanted, i seriously doubt he will be parked, i'm expecting maybe some point penalties and some fines.

Yes they have..the last 2 I think were Robby and Harvick... but I think 'm missing one... Harvick was the worst cause his confrontation was in the trucks and he got the penalty for the weekend for ALL 3 series races... I know someone else has gotten it..I just can't place it....but I know there was another in the last 3-4 years

Was he really suspended for that? I can't remember. I thought he just had points taken away and fined.

Look it up I wouldn't make something like that up.

You are mixing things up. The pit road incident was during the 2007 Autism Speaks 400 presented by VISA @ Dover. (It was Martin Truex Jr.s first win, but it was overshadowed by the death of Bill France Jr, who passed away during the race.) Kurt was docked 100 championship points, fined $100,000, and placed on probation until the end of the year, but was NOT suspended. Kurt WAS suspended at the end of the 2005 season, but by Roush, not NASCAR, over his run in with Maricopa County Sheriff deputies on November 11, 2005, when he was pulled over for suspicion of drunken driving and cited for reckless driving. Kenny Wallace drove the 97 car for the final two races of the season while Kurt moved on to Penske.
