Hi all.
Admittedly, I am not an active member of this guild, but I do check in from time to time. For those who remember me, hello!! For those who don't know me, well, hello!!
I have been looking for a good paragraph style RP for some time now, and I'm not having much luck. I'm open to creating one from scratch should people be interested in doing so. I like my RPs to be relatively complex, with lots of details thrown in so that all the contributers can flex their writing style muscles.
I tend to perfer RPs that contain war, conspiracies, urban ledgends, technical/practical sci-fi, exploring the unknown, modern day issues, and other such nonsense. I'm not big on romance, but I'm open to having it become a side plot. I refuse to yiff because I'm a married woman and I strongly believe in the strength and serenity that comes with the vows of marital fidelity.
I perfer to play children and bad guys for some odd reason, mostly because I admire the innocence amidst chaos that children possess and I am fastinated by the complexity of a villian's mindset.
I'm open for ideas and willing to get something going with a group. One on one is okay, but I love how a small group can each bring something to the table.

Well we're all itchin' to see knew rps and styles in the guild ^^
You can try creating your own Roleplay or just let me know and I'll create a new one. (I tend to make them sporadically)
Though I think the first option is much better, since you'll be able to be more specific on the rules of the roleplay and integrate what you like into it 3nodding

I've been kicking around some ideas and looking to generate interest, so hopefully I'll post something soon. Right now I'm mostly looking to see what others interests are so that this RP can cater to more than just my interests.
I've noticed a plethora of fantasy/romance styles all over Gaia, which is honestly not my style. I go for something more psycological myself, mostly because I love strong character development and exploring things from comfortable to unsavory. I have a fastination with psycology and what makes people tick, and that's what I look for in an RP.
Glad to see some interest.

Well the active RPers here would be Kikuangel, Gabriel, and I.
Arkaniun roleplays whenever its possible for him.
We'll pretty much go for anything that has some sort of plot to it. We're tired of those endless random roleplays with way too many old cliches @_@
You can try brainstorming here and I'll poke Kika into commenting here with me after she gets back from class tomorrow ^.^

Heya~ Nice to meet ya Edit.
Most of the RPs we've made have been fantasy style, so I think a new genre would really be refreshing for those of us who feel it's kinda getting repetitive *raises hand* x) Don't get me wrong though, I like the current RPs we have, but the roles we play are similar. lol
I agree with Tia on the whole 'you make your RP' thing. lol But, I'm worried that we're gonna fail to meet your expectations (at first, anyways). Maybe I'm just being a worrywart, but I just don't want ya to get frustrated at our uberly fail skillz and ditch us... T.T lol (So, basically what I'm saying is... I'm sorry if what I post in your RP sucks really bad...) x)
I'd love to help you brainstorm on ideas, so... post away and I'll give some feedback and suggestions of my own.

I had thought about doing something of a historical fantasy based around the third Crusade. The Crusades were known for causing turmoil in the lands that war was fought, and I thought it might be fun to have the churches go after those who chose not to live devoutly. Crusaders were known for going after those who were either not Catholic or "not Catholic enough" for the church's taste, and I think it would be fun to have characters try to keep to their beliefs while being hounded by the church.
Since this is fantasy, the church does not nessesarily have to be the Catholic church. Also, those who are apposed to the church could range from "devote sinner" to pagan, or so forth. Also, the pagans might try practicing practical spellwork (and when I say practical, I perfer to have things be researched out and not just "it happens because it's fantasy" kinds of spells) to aid them in their hiding from the church.

Would you want to keep some element of realism in the RP, such as actual RL religions and/or organizations? Or could those be entirely fictional?

The church can be either fictional or real. That I don't mind too much on fudging, especially if some people get sensitive about bashing the church. I'm more interested in how people use religion to get what they want, which is what I want the premise of the RP to be about.
Now, I'm not saying that being a Catholic is a bad thing (I am one) but that people sometimes use organized religion has a stepping stool to get what they want. A good example of this is the whole "eat fish on Friday" tradition, which was started by a pope who noticed that the local fishing market wasn't doing so well. It's not biblical at all, but economical. It just got started because the pope wanted it to happen, and God forbid you anger the pope. rolleyes
I'm thinking that science, art, and other such things can be what the church condemns, and those things we can fudge a bit too. In essence, if it's not used to worship God, the church is against it. I'll have to type up some of these "church rules" to go along with the RP, but I need to head off to work in a few minutes.

Renamon, I can't say I'm aware of what at Magictec is, mostly because I've never played Final Fantasy. If you could elaborate in away that an unfamiliar person can understand, I'd appreciate it immensely.
As for the rest of you, I'd love to get a couple more RPers involved in this before we get it started. If you guys know anyone else who would be good for this kind of thing, I'd love to hear from them. Once we get a couple of other people involved and interested, I think we could really have something good going.

Hello, everyone. 'Edit' just forcefully drafted me into this RP, so I'll be forced to hang out with you all for a little while until I find the key to these shackles. A pleasure, I'm sure.
Anyway, because I need practice in many different frameworks of fiction, I'm good with absolutely any sort of plotline that you guys can conceive. This whole 'theocracy' thing is nice, and to leave it unnamed means we can rage forcefully against it without feeling guilty about bashing a real religion (inversely, we can side with it without feeling like we're participating in a real religion). Win win.
I'm in the mood for a bit of subtlety, though, so I'd like to play a character who's heritage is based in nature worship. This sort of paganism boils the blood of any large religion, so it's a character who needs to downplay his actions, beliefs, and abilities if he hopes to survive in the current system.
Continue fleshing it out, guys. You seem like a fanciful crowd.
Side note: I have a friend from a long-dead RP of mine that may be willing to tag along for this ride, too. Remember 'Tony', Edit?
