I remember as a kid having a lot of story books that would always end saying, "And the moral of the story is..."
Now that I am a parent with a kindergarten daughter who I am supposed to read to hundreds of minutes per month (emphasis on supposed to sadly), I am curious in finding good books/stories that are written specifically with moral teachings or good sound life-lessons in mind. One of my favorites from my own childhood is The Little Red Hen, and its timeless message about hard work and personal responsibility. I also want to get The Empty Pot a chines stroy about honesty featured on an episode of Between the Lions. I was hoping people would have good suggestions about their favorite childrens stories that teach good values.
