Kayden kept his satchel close to his side, hugging it protectively with one arm as he wandered along to fence, using it as though it were some sort of monorail. He wandered around the neighborhood, making his way towards the city so that he might go and snatch some more paints. He was running low on green and pink, and that was understandable since they were his favorites to use after all. Once he reached the end of his 'monorail' he hopped off and crossed the street carefully, keeping his eyes flicking left to right, in case a car sped up out of nowhere. Once he made it safely across he scampered his fluffy tail all the way to his favorite shop. It was a raver store of sorts with all kinds of UV lights and art work hanging on the wall. They also had clothes, but those were for the humans. They were far to big for Kayden. Unfortunately they don't care children sizes or anything like that. Kayden was sadly out of luck there. He quickly grabbed two of the small (but big to him) containers of paints and rushed out of the shop before the owner could realize he was in there. He was in such a rush, in fact, that he wasn't even looking where he was going.

Anansi held her head high as she pranced through the streets. Oh, how sweet the stray life was! She ate when she wanted, used the bathroom where she wanted, and could roam all day and all night with no Two-Legs to harass her to 'settle down!' and 'don't knock that over!'. Tied in a bow around one thigh was her neck ribbon, silky and red, just under the hem of her pleated skirt. The neckline of her tanktop drooped, showing off a little bit of cleavage -- thank you mother for the genes! -- and she wore her hair up, though her bangs fell over her face in bright colors. She was happy and healthy...
Yet, she was also something else. She was lonesome. She'd found people, of course -- other cats to socialize and talk to. One of them had even helped untie the knot in her collar, freeing her and letting her show off her Freecollar scar proudly. But Anansi was lonely. She walked with her fingers looped in the metal belt hanging around her waist, not watching where she was going. Her long, fluffy tail wagged behind her, giving her a warning just as someone smashed into her, knocking the girl to the ground. "Oomph!" She glanced up, a giggle on her lips. "K-Kayden!"

The sudden collision caused a sure 'Oomph' from the tom, but it wasn't like a girly scream or whatever. He stumbled over his feet, in attempts to save him from tripping but it was no use. He landed on top of Anansi and from his trying at not wanting to crush her he ended up banging his knee on the concrete. "Ouch, damn it..." he didn't cuss often but he figured now was a suitable time. However, when the familiar voice came out from under him he opened his eyes wide, focusing them on the lovely face of the girl stuck under him. "Anansi?!" He jumped up off of her, limping backwards a bit to give her some breathing room. "Oh man, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to plow you down like that. Here, let me help you up." It was the least he could do for the poor girl. He grabbed her hand, without waiting for her to take his and pulled her up to her feet easily, since she was sort of lightweight.
Once he had what was most important off the ground he reached for his bag, noticing that the strap had been unsnapped and all his paints were scattered. "Geeze, can't a guy get a break?" He sighed with irritation clear on his face. He figured that it was karma, though. That's what he gets for stealing. He believed in that sort of thing but it was sort of worth it to have a sufficient supply of paints whenever he needed it. "Nasi, are you alright?" He asked with concern as he continued to pick up one paint after another, checking and double checking to see what colors were there in his bag so he could tell what he was looking for. They seemed to have rolled away cause he was still missing yellow and blue.

Anansi was indeed a lightweight -- and she gave a soft oomph as Kayden fell on top of her, trying not to crush her. She giggled and tilted her head back as he cursed. She didn't often use swear words, and it made her smile at the colorful language. "Hiya!" she beamed up at him as he lifted her to her feet. She smoothed out her skirt, tugging it down and then puffing up her chest in what she hoped was an attractive manner. She tossed bangs out of her face and grinned at him. "I'm sorry... I wasn't watching where I was going. It's my fault. Here! Let me help you pick this up!" She bent down, helping him pick the tubes of paint up, handing him yellow and blue with a sheepish grin on her face. "Here ya go, pal. So..." Drops her shoulder and looks at him. "Where've -you- been?"

As the girl was helped to her feet, Kayden couldn't help but feel rather blushy and guilty which was a peculiar mixture of emotions. The kind of strange mixture you'd expect a scientist to be cackling over triumphantly. Like he had made the worlds greatest elixir. As she got to her feet she in turn apologized for not watching where she was going and bent down to pick up his stolen belongings. "N-no, you shouldn't be sorry. I'm the one who wasn't watc-" when she handed him the paints all he did was sigh and smile at her, giving up on silly apologies. It was obvious that they were both sorry what not watching where they were going.
He took the paints and placed them in his bag, swinging it back around his shoulder. "Thanks, Nansi," he said gratefully with a sweet smile before looking back down at his bag, inspecting it. It's not that he was worried about the accessory, but he was to nervous to look in her eyes right now. Why was that? Maybe it was because he had just landed on top of her and he was embarrassed as hell, but at the same time, he didn't feel like it was the right reason. At the question of wanting to know where he's been he flicked his eyes up at her for a moment and gave a powerful smile. "I've been painting, dancing.... mostly because I got accepted into the University. I'm taking classes there." He gave a proud, firm nod with his head. "What about you? What have you been up to, huh?"

Anansi grinned and stuck her tongue out at him, blue eyes teasing. "It's -okay!-" she exclaimed, handing him the paint, which he put in his bag, ears tipped forwards as she listened to him speak. His voice was like velvet to her ears and it gave her the oddest of chills and she beamed at him when he remembered her nickname. Nansi... She liked that alot. Meant he hadn't forgotten her!
"Ooh, I knew you were an artist, but a dancer, too? I'd love to see that." She grinned at him, lacing her hands behind her head and spreading her elbows out, in a lazy manner. "The University. So that's where you live now?" Must be nice to have a home to return to at night...but Anansi wasn't complaining. She did enjoy sleeping on the streets and in the parks, but in the wet weather...sometimes it just blew. "You'll have to show me your apartment sometime! I mean...if you wanna."

As she stuck her tongue out at him he felt his lips curl into a brighter smile. A sense of sincerity over powering his lack of confidence around the girl. "Heh, right. I do hope that your sarcasm is true." He chuckled at the irony in that and tilted his head. If she wasn't kidding about her emphasis on okay he would really feel pains of guilt swelling up inside of him, but she seemed to be rather playful at the moment so that relaxed his tension a lot. That small spark of enjoyment that came from when he spoke her nickname made him smile all the more as he slung his bag over his shoulders and made sure it was on correctly.
Once he had adjusted his bag he let his dodger blue eyes flick up at Anansi again, soft and calm. "Heh, yep. I'm a dancer. Not the best, but I know how to make it look okay," his voice sounded rather playful in its own way, but serious at the same time. "The University is where they let me stay and study. I don't know if I call it home just yet. I mean, I do enjoy traveling around a lot. I mostly just like to go there for my classes and such..." that was the truth. He wasn't to keen on the idea of being confined to the place so he walked around and sometimes slept on the street occasionally. "Oh, if you want to that'd be great. I wouldn't mind showing you. I mean, if it's okay with Gwin. She's my teacher so to speak." He smirked at Anansi and shrugged. "I'll have to ask her."
He looked around and gave a gentle sigh, realizing that they were running out of conversation, but he didn't want the girl to leave just yet. He had to admit that he was sort of enjoying her company more and more. "So, um... where were you headed?" Maybe if it wasn't anything to personal, Kayden could tag along and be an annoying little pest to her. He kept that thought to himself, laughing at it on the inside, but trying to keep his composure on the outside.

She grinned at his smile -- she loved making people smile and when he did, her heart pattered in her chest unusually quick. She raised a hand to her chest, placing her palm over her heart, grinning the entire time. "How could I be mad at -you-?" she teased, tossing her hair back over her shoulder, the dyed tips of her bangs shielding her eyes.
"What kind of dancing do you do, anyways? Hiphop? Breakdancing? Or are you a waltz kinda guy?" Anansi wasn't a dancer -- she could dance, but it really wasn't too graceful and when she was dancing with someone, she usually stepped on their feet. She giggled and watched him, listening to him talk about the University. So he had a territory, but he didn't consider it home? She wondered how that worked... A place to go to in the rain... She nodded. "I'd love to sometime... If it's okay with her, I mean, Gwin. I don't wanna be a bother..." Her tail flicked to and fro, an ornery grin spreading on her face as he asked her where she was going.
"Nowhere inparticular. Just wanderin'. You wanna wander with me, Kay?" Her blue eyes twinkled with mirth. She wanted to grab his hand and make him walk with her, but she knew that was a little...bold. She giggled again and turned away, waving him to get him to follow her. "Anyplace you wanna go?"

As she used that consistent tease Kay couldn't help himself from grinning like a Cheshire Cat. She had this certain charm about it. Something that made him want to be around her more often because he couldn't achieve this same feeling around anybody else. It intrigued him to say the very least. His tail swayed as he ran his fingers over the strap of his bag, eying her as she asked her silly little questions. "Do I look like a hiphop dancer, Nansi?" He chuckled at her assumption and shook his head. "Nah, I'm into raves. I'll have to take you to one soon. You know, I'm not so good at the waltz." He gave a more lighthearted laugh, causing his eyes to light up.
So she was wandering around? Perhaps he could follow her somewhere then. She sure seemed like she could entertain him, in an appropriate way that is. "Oh yeah! Sure!" He was obviously in love with the idea of walking around with her. When she took his hand in hers he got a little tingle in his finger tips but ignored the strange sensation, shrugging it off as they started to walk. "Eh, I don't really have any favorite places. Perhaps you do? Would you like to share them with me?" He gave her a charming smile, trying to keep his confidence high.
