Fleurite sat on the branch of a tree as she waited for the sun to set. Being half flutter, she had inherited the smaller build and lighter bones from her father, thus allowing her to balance on the branch as she peered eagerly through the canopy. She had accidentally stumbled upon the perfect spot to watch the sunset while practicing her gliding; she had gotten stuck, but it was worth it... She watched her first sunset from this very spot! It was a tree short enough for her to fly to the top of, but tall enough to peek through parts of the canopy, just enough to get a good view of the sunset.

She sighed contentedly, smiling dreamily at the explosion of colors in the sky; red, orange and just a hint of purple. There were so many magnificent things to see in the world outside of her basket, but the sunset was by far her favorite. The sunrise was a close second, but despite being a rather early riser, there was no guarantee that she'll see it so early in the morning. The sunset, however, is easier to catch and just as spectacular!

"Almost time..." She whispered excitedly to herself as the sun moved towards the mountains; it was where it would leave till its return during sunrise next morning. With some luck, she would wake up in time for that too!

Orion fumbled down the path he just found. Sure he was meant to be home with his sister and mother but something had caught his eye -wasn't that always the way? There was always something! This world was just far to interesting to ignore. Considering he had only just been allowed of his basket there was still lots to do and lots of things to explore.

A shadow flickered, instinctively he lowered himself towards the ground with his rump up in the air as his tail flicked playfully, he jumped with eah movement of the shadow trying to catch it. "Come here little shadow..." he chirped softly before a noise caught his attention and he instantly looked up to see... well something!? It looked almost like his sister, slim build yet there were difference, colour, tail, wings and that... horn? He tilted his head as he obsevered the creature, from here he couldn't make out the could of its eyes. But true to his nature he showed no fear as he spoke, "What are you?" Or maybe he should have asked Who rather than What?

His eyes shifted to look at where she was. She was in a tree. He knew that, and from here it looked like it was only a short one, a shame that he had no chance of getting that high. He wiggled the little stubs upon his back, unlike his mother his wings -and his sisters for that matter- where far to small to do anything, buds of wings perhaps. How he would love to fly like his mother. That was something he envied. She had told him stories of the stallion that was his father -Scio- yet he couldn't help feeling there was something wrong with him to produce offspring that couldn't even fly.

Out of the corner of his eye he noticed the sun, turning he looked towards it before mumbling, "pretty...." the sun looked almost like it usually did, except at its edges was a soft pinky red tint that reminded him of roses in bloom. "I wonder why it does that?" Once again he tilted his head and started to step away from the tree almost forgetting what he had been doing there to begin with. For a moment he imagined an army of roses trying to invade the sun, maybe they where winning? Either that or there was a LOT of them considering the amount of red tint that was appear at the edge.

She was so absorbed with the almost hypnotic movement of the sun as it climbs down the sky that she failed to notice the arrival of a colt. When he called out, she jumped in surprise... Only to remember that she was sitting on the top of a tree. Fluttering her wings as she tried to keep calm, the filly managed to glide down from her seat rather than fall all the way down. Landing gently beside the dark colored colt, Fleurite blushed at her own "performance" as she offered a small smile, "Hel-Hello... What? Oh... Uh, I don't know... But my name is Fleurite, or Fleur for short. What about your name?"

She shifted her hoofs nervously, not expecting anyone to pass by this time of the day, much less a stranger to the herd. She paused, looking up at the ever darkening sky; the sunset was starting and if she doesn't get back onto the tree, she wouldn't be able to see the whole thing... Just the tip of the sun from the holes in the canopy. Glancing at the other foal at his question, she spoke again, this time more sure of herself than when she was introducing herself, "It is pretty, isn't it? Its only like that when its setting... Its pretty at sunrise too, but the colors differ!"

She paused, an idea forming in her head as she wiggled her wings; this colt looks rather young, so he must be pretty light, right? And since her wings are stronger now, she reckoned she could help him up. Musing out loud, she gestured towards the tree she was in, "Hey, um... Would you like to climb up to sit on one of its lower branches? You can see the whole sun going down behind the mountains from there, rather than just part of the view! I'll help you up..."
